It was a 911 that beat my GT-R on the line. I think my tyres gave up at the last corner on about lap 18, about 25% left on the left side and not being able to turn fully without skidding. Interesting to see what the other guy had left. I think I did well to be within 0.005 to be honest.
I stayed around 40 percent of the race behind the front pack , the excelent 911 grip allowed me to spare tires in turns and i was sticking in straight line again with the stream . without this strategy my tires would be gone and i would not be able to finish as strong as i did against fast cars like the Lexus '17.

Manu i got lucky in draft, got pole, but hit the wall in lap 2 when leading. Recovery race was decent.

You really surprised me when you gained on me. I had assumed a 5s gap to the guy behind me and didn't think anyone could close it. It was a legit wtf moment when I realized a car appeared behind me and I almost put you into the wall.

I had front end damage and was just using a tow from that green Porsche all race. When you came by you towed him away from me and I got stranded with no draft lol.

I cried on the inside.

Wound up sticking with the WRX at Dragon Trail, qualified P7, and finished P5. Was 1st of the non 911's (lol) which was really exactly what I wanted to accomplish.

Blue Moon was prob the highest split/points room I've been in for FIA. I caught the draft and managed P5 in qualifying which was scary with the better drivers around me. Got some aero push and caught the wall early in, and had to pit to fix damage. Finish wasn't so hot, womp womp. I didn't expect to beat the best drivers but could've at least held my own if I hadn't biffed it.

Annoyed my PS4 didn't record my in-game footage. I wanted to see the chain of calamities that I had during qualifying.

I want to keep doing this combo until my pace is around 43 flat.

Without that Lexus pushing you along most of the time you might not have finished where you did ;)

It's ok, my strategy worked, pushing you kept us together and allowed us to get a big enough gap to prevent any real pressure from behind.

I agree 110 %. but the first half strategy that i was talking about make my car maintain a perfect grip till the end, i was seeing you loosing some cars distance in the turns... during the last 5 laps. Thanks for this, a long time i didn't win any race .

Nations race was simply AMAZING. I'm not gonna spoil, just watch. The battle was incredible. It was so good that i put the last laps replay.

That move on lap 18 at Blue Moon is a thing of beauty. Someone needs to go to 15:00 and insert the Jaws music into it :)

The bump drafting wasn't causing any negative SR? I was real hesitant to tap people ahead when I was catching their bumper in the draft.

I was bump drafted like crazy with tons of SR down arrows but after the race I had blue S rank.

It turns out the person bumping didnt get any but the person being bumped did. I didnt realize it but with all the bump drafting I was doing to @praiano63 it dropped his SR to B by the end of the race. I felt bad but had no idea.

:lol: I din't saw this , i've checked right now and it's true , i have a wonderfull B SR , i will try to get it back tonight , at least partially if it takes time... i don't know. That was a very fun race anyway.

I had 2 lap fresher tyres, I stopped on lap 2. Good thing i changed tyres, i don't think id have got up there without changing them. Damage is just too costly, especially in ovals, you lose so muc top speed. Maybe i should have wait a couple of laps to pit but i decided to do it right away. My pace was really good, i took 5s out from the leaders that were bump drafting each other.

It was beautiful. I have to admit i got a bit lucky the cars in front didn't blick me tho and i got them at the perfect place in the track.

Back to A after 5 or 6 daily races B . Lucky to have been pole every race , win and perfect race bonus. I'll do it again tonight.
I think i will also avoid BMB races in the future , at least till they fix this kind of penalties. I'm not a specialist but it seems to me that draft bumping is a normal thing in oval races no ??? At least till a certain level of contact , we haven't made dangerous strong bumps during all the race , only slight touch.

Why don't you choose McLaren VGT? Though it is the machine which became stable most and stands big output. Now we declare "McLaren VGT is a supreme!" If you approve of this declaration, to participate in this c h a l l e n g e.

Yes, I am indeed using the Group 1 McLaren this Saturday. First thing I noticed was that the effective power is actually 621hp (with a 246hp hybrid that isn't normally added to the listed power output of group 1 cars). So whilst the top speed is good, it's not Group C levels of top speed. As for handling, traction is pretty good and it's easy enough to drive, but the apex speeds aren't exactly great.

Might be tough unless I miss top split (DR is only 51k in the wake of that night where both of my FIA races were ruined on lap 1), but I told the group back in Tokyo that I when I got home I would bring the McLaren VGT out of Sport Mode extinction, so I'm sticking with it.

As someone who previously mained the McLaren 650S under the guise of a Ferrari, I say c h a l l e n g e a c c e p t e d

That said, I have no idea what the next race will be  been busy with a mini thesis of sorts so I'll have to go into this race with 30 minutes of practice at most. Sorry in advance

I'll be running mediums with a pit stop at Brands Hatch tomorrow, Pug Power!

As for the Mclaren, I will be using that in the Nations, it is a bit of a monster on the straight. Definitely worth a look.

McLaren VGT challenge didn't go so well, but it was less about the car and more me driving a sloppy race. Was lucky not to hit anyone on the first lap as it felt like the car didn't want to brake in turns 1 and 3. Should've gotten a top split top 10 but had to settle for 11th. Post-buff, the McLaren definitely has potential on some tracks (Monza, Le Mans) but the rear tyre wear does hold it back elsewhere.

Before that came the manufacturers race... which I won, but with the caveat that it was definitely split two. 1:28.679 was enough for pole and I was able to lead all 12 laps despite huge front tyre issues on the Hyundai Gr4.

Hey guys I just wanted to know what strategy you all will be using for tonight's nations and manufactures cup? Don't think ill be getting any practice time in so I just wanted to know what the common strategy is.

I had a similarly disastrous Nations as you in my 919 on the 4th timeslot, which isn't the most ideal timeslot for points. Qualified 11th, finished 10th. This race also saw the best result from @Pubs16 so far; he finished 2nd.

Earlier on in the Manufacturers race, my qualifying was not the greatest; I only managed to start in 16th. But then I was able to finish 11th for some solid 900 points. Pubsie, who is in the same manufacturer as mine (BMW), fared worse here. Winner is just so happens to be you in the Genesis, Jay.

And on another note, I've sent you a Friend Request.

I will do one of these two in Manufacturer:

Six laps M, six laps M

Eight laps M, four laps S.

Depends on how the race and traffic pans out. Hyundai here.

For me the winning strategy was to start on Mediums at the front, Softs on the rear. Pit on lap 7 for Softs and hope the cliff doesn't kill you at the end.

But this is only necessary for FF cars/the bloody Hyundai. You may be able to go Softs all the way, pitting on lap 6. If you're worried about the cliff, pit on lap 5 and take the Mediums.

As for starting on the Mediums, it is a risk if a Soft runner starts behind you, but then so is starting on the Softs and ending up with a Medium runner ahead. A no-stop could be barely within reach, but with the pit time at Brands being short, shouldn't be considered unless you've qualified out of position.

Ditto. McLaren wants to kill you on every corner entry
My practice time was a 1:26.639, so I was already expecting to be last even in a lower split lobby. To my surprise my 1:27.974 is enough to propel me to 8th

I got a bit of rear bumper damage at T1 L1, but it's not bad enough to warrant a pit stop, but at the chicane section I was battling with someone and they spun which took my engine out :(

Dropped to 16th, but was able to cruise my way back to 12th :) honestly, I think it was good enough considering the incident and the car :D

This car is really good under brakes. I don't know why honestly, I didn't realize this until I was hunting down Leaves_2B and a couple of others where I saw that I'm gaining 3-5ths on them at every hard braking point without losing time on exit (They got away though :()

Welp, sadly can't do the Nations race due to some family call. I was doing the Manufacter one but ended up quitting start mid race.
Qualified 7th, had a bad start and let myself clean overtaken then this happened which was fun
