To give you an idea of just how bad it gets in the Gr4 Hyundai... this was the state of my tyres at the end of the Brands Hatch race;

That was only a 5 lap stint too. With brake bias at +5 to the rear the entire time. Only thing that saved me was the driver behind following me in on lap 7, only to go back onto the mediums allowing me to pull enough of a gap before the cliff.

In my practice sessions with genesis I had exactly the same tyre wear on softs, running between 1.28 and 1.29. In race, I lowered my pace to low 1.30 and tyre wear felt much better. After Didico and dctrburdock crashed, it was easy win for me.

Anyone else struggling to make the whole race on a tank of fuel for the latest manufacturers race? I've seen people pitting on lap 3 with less than 50 litres in the car, did a practice race and I had to save fuel right at the end and still only crossed the line with 0% left

Here’s my manu race. Didn’t qualify really well, ended up starting 4th.

Had a great battle with a Cayman and a Megan, then my streamed was interrupted due to my internet connection.

Moved up to 2nd and finished 2nd about 5-6 seconds behind the leader.

Anyone try the 996? I went 2:01.547 in the NSX, after 6 laps. Jumped in my 996 and did a 2:00.xxx first lap. After 3 laps, I'm at 1:57.047. I think a fast player can topple the S-FR, X-Bow and Ford GT.

I know those others are lighter- 996 BoP at 293bhp/1,282kg. It's just that the Porsche feels perfect. Maybe tyre wear won't be bad.

It's almost as if PD expects us to refuel

I did a 1:58 using an RX500 after a few sessions.

Tried the Mazda. Did a 1:59.099 just then.

I can't really see anything beyond the S-FR tbh. I tried a couple of light cars (Alfa 4c, Toyota GT86 GRRM, Renault Meganne) and nothing came close. Someone tried the Alpine in a practice race last night, but I haven't tried it.

The guy who won the practice race had a fastest lap of 1.55.something in the S-FR. No idea how he did that as I was in the 1:58's, was like he had real tyres on when he went past me

It's just my 996 and an Evo, among the other three.

Qualified 6th. Top 10 are within 0.9 seconds. I'm 0.461(1:57.873) off leader with 1:57.412.

An 86 is also in the race.

Edit: Finished 7th with front damage after going off the fast downhill esses, at the end of the lap . The 996 performed great. The competition has nothing for it, with its 3rd gear punch. Pulls away from the Ford GT, up the hills.
Finger was getting numb. So, I struggled for the last 4 laps. Got passed up the inside, on the final turn by the bump & run, from an S-FR(Aussie, thanks) and X-Bow(Malaysia, thanks).

I bet it(996) can win.

Nations went alright in the S-FR. Qualified 10th with an ok lap. managed to work my way up to 7th with a couple of decent moves, and one mistake that I just got away with on the last lap. Wasn't very exciting to be honest as the cars are a bit meh. Only 1 non S-FR car in my race and that was @Hasnain282 in his Xbow that finished a couple of places behind me. Looked to have solid pace though.

Manufacturers got ruined in qualifying when I was on my fast lap going into the 1st corner and a guy came out the pits and unghosted on the apex. Meant I had no quali time and started 20th. Picked up a few places but not a great deal you can do starting from back there against good drivers. Eventually made a silly mistake on 5th lap pushing through the start of the twisty section and that was that - 16th.

Not fan of the combo, but turned out as race with 2 awesome battles.
First one with the greek (who miscounted laps at the end)
and second with the swede (who drove without ABS 👍)

6th at Nations in a X-Bow after qualifying 3rd. Was in 2nd at the esses and ****ed it going down, missed the braking point, ruined my race, ruined the guy who was in 3rd. A decent enough recovery drive but could/should have been much better.

3rd place for me in nations using the xbow. Qualified and finished 3rd so I cannot complain.

I feel bad as a I had an incident with a Brazilian driver that sent him to the wall. I lost alot of speed coming out if the hairpin before the downhill esses, so the Brazilian driver was gaining on me. Going through the esses I slowed down a bit to try and let him pass but either I did not slow down enough or he was hesitant to pass me so we ended up wheel to wheel going through the esses to save myself and maintain a decent line I ended up bumping him pretty good. I think he got out of it okay, I ended up 2 seconds ahead after that then there must have been another incident a few laps later because I went from 2 seconds ahead to 6.

After that it was smooth sailing, I even nearly had a run at 2nd, but since I had a penalty still from the incident I thought better of trying to pass.

Pleased with my two races tonight overall. Qualified top 10 in both and managed to gain spots in two upper split rooms. Only issue was a driver in Nations who was behind me for a few laps (they qualified behind as well), didn't seem to be able to tell the difference between blocking and defending a racing line (I was doing the latter). Driver proceeded to try and punt me off in multiple corners. Fortunately the last attempt I knew it was coming and I just held the brakes to maintain control through the contact and they lost it and I got away. They let me have it in the chat and didn't stick around for a dialogue, but they had the red S and I had blue.

If driver had gotten a legitimate run at all that would've indicated a overtake I'd give plenty of space, but N300 on comfort tires means momentum is king so if the person behind can only manage to slowly gain ground I can maintain my line, yeah? I should've saved the replay to analyze my lines further.

Had a great Manufacturer race with the Hyundai tonight in a top split room despite having only 36,500 DR. Started 8th and finished 6th for 1,339 points despite trying to avoid a damaged car on lap one in the left hand sweeper before the bridge and eventually hitting him and getting a 2s penalty, but thankfully no damage.

Good racing. Had some good battles along the way. St. Croix may be an incredibly boring track but it's great for online racing. It's as if the whole layout was designed to accommodate the frequent mistakes that some people (including me) make and promote clean side-by-side racing. The St. Croix race in Final Season of FIA was also full of tight battles with no punting. I hate hotlapping that track but love racing there.

someone gave me a rude pass attempt into turn 1 lap 2 but on the plus side i got to race in some awesome traffic and it was really fun.

2x2 over the bridge on lap 3 ahead of me, then 3 wide into the off camber right hander. good stuff.

How can it be that we have never crossed paths? We're on a similar level and I have never seen you in a Daily or FIA room. Must be the time of day we play....

Two surprising races today.

For Nations, I was practicing with the SR-F all this time but realized the tires weren't going to last on it. Therefore, I went to the X-Bow even though I was struggling to hang onto it consistently in the brief practice I had with it. Imagine my complete shock when I ran a personal best and barely missing out on pole to start 3rd. I figured the top two would be a bit too much for me to stay with and so it was all about hanging on to the podium position. Quite a challenge to string fast laps together but I somehow hung on despite my struggles at the chicane. One of my better efforts.

St Croix is a lot like Le Mans where the length requires lots of practice for it to click for me. Didn't get much time to figure out the combo or even have a strategy at all. Slow qualifying, rubbish car and strategy so bad that I didn't even know this race required some fuel saving! I finally noticed my predicament and had to really slow down my pace just to hang onto my position.

Manu was also good. Both races I had the fastest american on the TT in my room, came behind them in both. At least this one had a goob battle with UGA in the first stint. My tyre wear was a bit higher than the Merc, I even had to make the qualy on hard tyres, the mediums didnt last long enough for a qualy lap.

Haha not sure. I've raced almost all other NA drivers on these forums that drive in the top 1-2 splits.

Also, lol 1st for Citroen while only being 72nd overall.

In the Nations Cup race, I manged to qualify 7th and finish 4th using a 911 GT3. The 911 was super easy on the tires which helped a lot. I'm still irked at how I nearly beat a field of nothing but Xbows and SFRs.

Yes! I was surprised as well. The X-Bow could probably have done that race 3 times before needing to change tires.

made some gifs of the awesome 3 wide battles from MFG this week. Poor Ferrari, pushed off and got a penalty for it. The Alfa's karma caught up with it later that lap.

How good is this game though?! I would never think to get online racing like this week after week. It's amazing. GT Sport is phenomenal.

Quite late with this. Did both races on Wednesday, the results weren't amazing but had some decent battles along the way.

First up was Nations. Went with the X-Bow. Was the only one as @Lost Sheltie mentioned. Pace was decent but my lap one let me down or else it could've been a decent result.


Then was the manufacturers. Qualified P10. Managed to keep it out of trouble till lap 3 where I went off. Had a funny moment out of the pits where about 5 of us all went off at the same corner on cold tyres (you'll probably see it in SuperGT's video). Then had a horrific last lap and it was P15 in the end. Was a good, fun race when I wasn't spinning or crashing.
