Nations race was funny when the loading screen froze for ages ,i waited and 'yes i'm in' only to see no one else had . Still was a fun race on my own ,got fastest lap, clean race and a victory but sadly no points... lol

I was only able to make Mediums last 3 laps in the Lamborghini GT3, qualified last, finished last over a minute behind the next guy, got lapped by the top 5 or 6, thoroughly embarrassing performance by me. The physics change has made the car less twitchy on the throttle and more twitchy on lift, and I haven't adjusted to it (and I'm not sure if I'll be able to).

I really regret my last minute switch from Mazda...

I've finalized my manufacturer for the Exhibition Series (Mercedes-Benz is reserved for the Official Series)

The N300 race in the Nations Cup was just trash; being denied a space, getting pushed off the road, trying to go through the chicane of death side by side, and getting penalised as someone hit me after an accident. I ended up 11th after starting 15th, both results highly disappointing considering that I could've set a faster time. In fact my fastest race lap was over 1 second faster than my qualifying lap somehow. What an absolute waste of time. I don't deserve to get ran off the road after a legitimate pass wherein my rival still kept all four tyres on the road. Yes I made some contact but I wasn't intentionally trying to push him off the road. He could've passed me without having to force the issue and purposely run me out of road. Sorry, that just isn't fair and deserving of discredit. My race was ruined.

So after all my complaining about being able to retry races, I took advantage of it first race, lol.

Nations Attempt 1: got pole. got put into the wall T2, fell to 11th started yelling at the game, my dog cowards into his kennel. My frustration got the better of me and I raced poorly from that moment on, died at the bus stop chicane and ended the race 15th. Still got fastest lap though, my first I think.

Nations Attempt 2: Praise PD for allow retrys now :). Got pole again, held it through 1st chicane this time. Actually held 1st this time too. Me and a fellow canuck pulled ahead of the rest. I had a 3 second lead at one point but this guy was a tenacious little bugger. He kept racing perfectly, I made a mess of the first chicane mid race which got him within striking distance. Then lap 8 I made a mess of the bus stop chicane, not bad but I had to brake a little to avoid crashing, then caught the wall a tad on exit, he did the chicane perfectly and blew by me on the straight. O well I'm happy with second and another pole.

But the max points it give for my race was 61 how people had 119 ?
Right before a race begins, like during time trials, there’s a small icon at the bottom center next to the tuning wrench icon. Click on it and it shows you the points for each place, each race may be different.

Was able to enter the Nations Cup race three times, had some questions. Namely, I felt that it was a lot easier to get slightly lower times using the Toyota S-FR Racing Concept over the X-Bow R; I used the latter in my first two entries, and the former in my last race. It also says a decent amount of the top ten times were set using the X-Bow R, and I didn't see a single S-FR Racing Concept among the top ten. How come it feels that all three fields I saw were dominated by the S-FR Racing Concept? I definitely saw a few GT40 Mk.Is and F50s, but it overall leaves me confused: which, of any of these cars - the S-FR Racing Concept, the X-Bow R, the F50, and the GT40 Mk.I - was ideal for N300 here? I tried turning off TCS and changing the brake balance accordingly, with +3 for the X-Bow R and -3 for the S-FR Racing Concept, but should I have turned them up/down even more for each car? Should I also try turning off ABS? I mean, I use a DS4, so is it still possible to disable ABS and drive well with a DS4? I'd imagine it's like the inverse of throttle control at launch; I'd likely just need to not slam the brakes when I wanna slow down, right?

Only time for one nation and one manufacturer for me tonight.
Nation was fantastic and fun with the F50 , we raced hard during all the race with 2 others guys. Very good racing moment.

Wrong choice for the nation, 1 stop racing medium , it could be very good but everybody else did 2 stop racing soft. This means that when they are 100% , you are slower than the rest and they pass over you without any fair play. This is a stupidity in this game for a 11 laps race that 2 stops can even pay. PD still have some job in this area , or increase the wear difference between the 3 compounds and/or extend the time in the pits. This pit stop time is just ridiculous. Just my opinion.

I did 1 Nations Cup race. Finished 7th. I'm satisfied with that.

I used the SFR. Overall the SFR seemed to dominate the race I was in. There were 2 or 3 X-Bow. And I think 1 each of a F50, GTR, Porsche and Mustang.

My race was mostly DR B. I'd be interested to know if was the same in higher rooms. Where maybe the X-Bow may have been dominant as they were on the leaderboards.

Did nations only once. I had almost no time to get used to the Ferrari before the race. Qualy was bad and race was ok. Ghosting saved the hell out of me in lap 1 and some battle in the last couple of laps. Unfortunately got hit when trying to go for the last podium spot.

Manu I tried twice. Again, first time with no real warm up was terrible, finished well below the field, having spun and being denied a pit entry once in lap 5. Second try (video below) was much better. Qualy lap was excellent, pretty much took the maximum out of the F-Type. On the race, I struggled with tyre wear doing only one stop towards the end. Really wanted the last podium spot.

Love Dragon Trail, but wish this had some strategy into it. No new tires/refueling meant only overtaking the hard way. And while this is a fun track, a clean overtake can be hard, especially when the opponent is good at defending - had a nice 8 lap battle with a greek guy yesterday. A good qualification is vital for this one.

After the confusion of Tuesday, where I jumped in the last slot for Nations after panicking that the race schedule got changed, I had pretty good races yesterday.

For Manu I chose Toyota and the FT-1 VGT. I didn’t really like it before but after a little getting used to it’s actually a phenomenal car! Really gentle on the tires as well even with my tire destroying driving style (need to work on that…). I misjudged the time left in qualy so only had one hot lap. I started P13 but due to the car being so good with tires I decided to go on an aggressive RS – RS strategy. This paid off big time. I was running as high as P3 during the race, and only a couple of 2-stoppers were barely able to overtake me. Made litte to no mistakes so P6 in the end and over 1000 points :)

Nations I tried the F50, X-Bow and the 911 GT3 during my preparations but couldn’t make them work so I ran the S-FR. A good qualy lap put me in P5. At the start P4 disconnected and I had a nice view on the 3-way battle for the lead up front. I hung back as I had to defend a little from the guy behind me. After a couple of laps the fighting at the front was still going on and P3 made a mistake, meaning I was up to 3rd and right behind P2. The two drivers behind me got tangled up in a fight giving me some room but I made a small mistake on the chicane. The two behind were still fighting so I was able to gain on them again but I couldn’t reel in P2. After that, an uneventful race for the last 5 laps and a very welcome P3 worth 1400p.

All in all 1700DR gained, I’d say that was a good raceday. :dopey:

This is why I love gt. What an epic battle. Congrats everybody.
EDIT: Check the start the guy in 3rd position, i think he was using a H shifter , a lot more fast.

Nations R3, one make $10,000,000 car from garage..

Why?

Guess they want to limit the amount of participants, they did it also last season. Not interested in spending the next week in grinding just to enter.
Guess it means catching up with RDR2 for me.

I can only speak for myself but, the S-FR was alot easier to control. So I think us average to good racers found the S-FR alot faster, but the aliens were able to get that extra umpf out of the X-Bow and F50's.

For me I had the S-FR consistently within a second of my fastest lap, but when I tried the X-Bow, every couple of laps I'd lose the backend coming out of a turn and lose a second or two. Couple that with what could happen in a race situation where I'd have to make a sudden movement to avoid another driver and I could easily risk losing control.

My brake balance was set completly to the rear brake for the S-FR.

I'll be opting out of that one as well. Even though I have the credits, I am both cheap in video games as I am in real life :)

For the Nations combo, the S-FR was a deceiving choice even for "beginners" I think. Watching a practice race, I realized the S-FRs burned more tyres than the F50. The Ferrari basically kept getting faster until like lap 8, and would just wreck the Toyotas completely in straight lines. It was a no-brainer.

To be honest, I think the GT40 may have been a faster car on that track, I actually had called it as soon as the calendar was released, but as soon as I saw F50s were in the leaderboards I couldn't resist, I just love this car too much to not use an excuse to drive it.

My gut feeling is we have to pay the 10 million to use the DB3, has a car ever been made available for an FIA race before.

I will buy it because I want one but going to have to grind a lot afterwards.

As for the S-FR via Xbow and F-50 battles I can only speak for my race but the best X-Bow got 4th and the F50 came in behind in 5th
place, the top 3 were all S-FR's, me racking 3rd place as per my video yesterday.

Why only 4 rounds count for the points this time, not that I'm complaining since it gives room for good/bad results.

Since we're sharing I thought I'd post my race here as well. Particularly proud of my qualifying lap (1:54.3) which was comparable to the Aliens. Overall race time was also decent.

I'm still stuck racing on my own though as I've started racing with a new account (david_perel instead of gtp_davidperel because of the South African flag), so I raced on my own, but still happy with the result.

I just don't understand the North American time slots. 6:00 pm local time being the last slot available for people on the US West Coast is too early. I was only able to do one of Nations and Manufacturers without being able to retry. Definitely would've for Nations because DT requires tons of retries to get right.

Manu, my maiden race with Subaru ended with a maiden win. That only means...

Vids will be up eventually.
