I will note that one of my recommendations I gave to PD was find a way to get lower ranked drivers a chance to be seen out there. I would love to do an inverted field type exhibition competition where the top guys have to find a way to get to the front. Cleanly!

Hmm, a reverse-grid type series, or maybe a all-star vs. series where top drivers go up against lower ranks with a handicap to even it out? That could be fun!
But you're right... The championship is ultimately about filtering down to the best of the best. Still, i think they could probably do with some divisions of some kind to give lower ranked players a more attainable goal and maybe a little more motivation along with it.

Forgot about this idea. Driver swap where ones from each rank has to drive. Might be a bit chaotic but would make for great viewing.

I'd rather this idea be implemented as a championship option in lobbies. Maybe they could even bring back shuffle racing. But for FIA races, I think the format as is works well.

It's possible to exploit Manufactures this week for a 2s gain in the pitstop.

So that's what happened! Here I thought Slowbaru also came with a slow pit crew for added insult.

The question now is whether hitting the wall in the actual FIA lobby earns you a penalty.

Poor rex gets walked on the straights, in the draft and now in the pit lane as well lol

But yeah, we need a guinea pig in the eastern hemisphere to test that out for us. If someone can gain 2 secs plus the time they saved not slowing down there then that's a significant difference. Nice catch @vvise 👍

I'm interested to see what the pit strategies looks like for nations as our friends in the Eastern Hemisphere race. 1 stop or 2? They seemed about the same as I tested with someone last night in a lobby. We each tried the opposite strategy in 2 races, but it's tough to say because we both had a spin out or two at some point, my 1 stop race I made a ton of mistakes, my two stop was pretty clean less one spinout and I ended 7 seconds faster on the two stop. The other guy was faster on 1 stop, spun out on his 2 stop and also mentioned he was taking it easy to stay close with me since he was just way faster than me to begin with. He was an A+ and I am a B so it wasn't a balanced test at all.

Both times the 2 stop guy came out ahead of the one stop as the one stop guy left the pit.

I think to make 1 stop work you have to watch your pace and take it easy on your tires, 2 stop you can just go all out the whole race. So higher lobbies should be okay with 1 stop because everyone has more race awareness, in lower lobbies you might be better off going 2 stop because people are less aware and end up just going all out all the time.

I figure if I can get pole or a high qualy in a B lobby, if I try the one stop and have to take things a bit slow to save tires, someone is going to end up punting me on a corner as I will need to brake earlier to save tires. So it's risky in lower lobbies.

Quality effort on lap 13/14 at Yamagiwa - Guy in 14th who had the fastest lap of the race on L12 decides to go for a move through the chicane at the bottom of the hill, we both go off, I get 3 seconds, he gets nothing

I mean

why

Good 2d place in the first EU time slot. I will stay with this one for sure.
One stop , no late braking , maximum flow and speed staying cool in the 2 chicanes, for me at least that's the way to go , half front left tires after 7 laps , still a decent grip.

What strategy are you guys using on the manu race this evening? I'm thinking a 2 stop could work, but I've only done 5 laps in time trial with zero practice lobbies so I'm going in pretty blind

I don’t see a two stop work, it’s nearly 18 seconds lost for a pit stop.

Yep, @DC2_Evan, just hang on to your tires and make it a 1 stopper. You'll be fine.

Thanks guys. Like I said, I've done basically zero practice and didn't know how much time you lose in a stop around here. To be honest, Fuji is not a strong track for me. I can never get comfortable going through that last sector

Yea, It's tough to say. I simmed it in a lobby last night and I ended up 7 seconds faster doing a 2 stop(for nations). But there are so many variables. My 1 stop run I felt I raced really poorly, is that cause of tire wear or lack of focus? My 2 stop I felt I raced way better. Plus, with 2 stop, if you have a good starting position you're going to come out of the pits on your first stop in traffic with the back of the pack.

At least we get multiple attempts now, if after my first race the 2 stop guys all did really well I'll try it in another race if my points aren't work keeping. I've got the luxury of racing in 4 of 5 time slots tonight if I feel like it.

i practiced in the lexus and today everyone is using the GTR. i don't even have 800k :(. im having flashback to the weekend where i was the only 86 in a lobby of alfas.

Second manufacturers race that I have time to do. Gr.3 at Fuji. Great combo for me. Or, it would be, had I not spun at the exit of turn one, on lap one, after qualifying third. Ruining my own race, and that of those around me in the process.

Try again at 21:10.

Horrible manufacturer race , after a very bad qualify i've started around pos 16 if i remember well.
I did a safe first 7 laps to check my wear first and i did a more agressive second half that boost me in 8th position lap 12.
When i was braking for dunlop right turn chicane , around 2 or 3 cars bumped me in front far away ..... i will check the replay after the job to check those dirty guys. Very bad.

Scratch that.

We just had a power cut that only lasted a few minutes. But, long enough to mean I grabbed a grand total of 114 points for what was lining up to be my best combination of this season.

Nevermind. Back to learning how to use the new wheel.

What's the car for the one make in the next round? The race details on the website don't seem to mention it.

Yet another bottled qualifying session meant I started towards the back again. Race pace is decent and made some progress through the field but I still haven't adapted to these 10 minute qualifying sessions after many years league racing on the F1 games with full qualifying at times. Still, I had some fun in the race and am more comfortable on the upcoming tracks.

Both of my Nations and Manufacturers races had some atrocities last night, including mine against SAYA_TMS in the Nations race...

Wow, Fuji is just a complete dogfight. Tried twice tonight. First race I had a guy block me in qualy and then in race he decided to no stop and just ram people off the track (sadly including me), not sure what his plan was. With his hits, and a few other whacks I ended up in 15th :(

2nd race, I bottled the last sector of qualy and ended up 12th. Again the 1st half was pretty serene, and then after the pit stop people just seemed to go mental. Dive bombs, clean rams, slams left right and centre, it was just mental. Every time I went into a corner I expected to get hit, and a lot of the time I did. Was all a bit frustrating because I think my race pace was good. The majority of the rammers managed to take each other off so I ended up getting 7th. Guy who came 4th, managed to get past me by diving past 2 guys into the chicane and using me as a brake, and then lauded his driving in the comments afterwards :dunce:

After the demolition derby I didn't fancy doing the Nations.

I did the Nations race yesterday and put myself on pole ahead of @ShiftingGears by about 0.2 of a second. I was the only one in the 1:24's, albeit only just (1:24.955). Got off to a good start but I made a small mistake going into the chicane at the bottom of the hill, losing first. But I regained the lead on lap 6, and then pitted on the next lap. I came out 2 seconds in front of @ShiftingGears in second, and pulled out a massive gap. I won the race by 10 seconds and got my SR up to an S again. Which is problem because next time I do a Nations race, I'll race against the fastest drivers in the region:lol:
