Hi.

Nations
A little late but heres my Nations run, im still not able to keep up with the leaders for some reason need to control my pace on race....overall was a good race a little bit of figth with brazil and peru guys....

Manu
i only race 1 time and it was bad...i just cant drive the mclaren...just cant...

@MonkeyMan_707 thought I'd point that, if I sound salty after the race, it's more me being frustrated at myself and nothing against you. I ran wide on the last bend and let what should've been a 100% safe P5 slip away, which was just insult to injury for me after having shockingly bad race pace relative to qualifying all race.
I didn't even notice you say anything tbh but can totally understand how that would be so frustrating from your position. 0.006 over the line. I assume your still on gamepad because it looked like you had way worse tyre wear, and I knew I would have a good shot on the last lap because of that.

On a more recent note I had my best results this season the other night (5th and 4th in top split FIA races). I put it down to one little trick I used

Had a trial run of tomorrow's nations in custom race mode. The standing start on Tokyo with 20 big-ass Teslas sliding around is going to make the first lap a nightmare of shunts, wall collisions and penalties. I'm scared.

Yup! Esp since you can't hear any of them either so it's going to make a chaotic filled race throughout which is why I will be
revealing a suitably attired Tesla for tomorrow's race. :)

This is going to be a weird one. I did free practice for an hour last night trying to get used to it.

No engine noise, no gear shifting, coming out of the hairpins quiet and slow just feels so wrong.

Has anyone done any testing for the manufacturers race at nurburgring? I'm getting back from a work trip half hour before last session. Wont have any time to practice:( either 1 stop on softs or no stopper on mediums?
Thanks in advance

Tire choices are medium and hard

I wonder when we're going to get more championships under the championship tab than just the two major FIA events? I'm hoping we'll see various campaign mode events (both from GT League and previous GT games) turned into online championships - stuff like the Lightweight K Cup, or Real Circuit Tours.

On a similar topic, was there a list of "official" GT Sport championships other than the FIA championships? I'm largely referring to the ones created by various automakers. I do recall Toyota & Fernando Alonso having one exclusive for Spanish players, and I also recall another by Mercedes-Benz mostly reserved for Italian players.

I just don't trust this

Could actually be new players, but there too many. I see me getting pushed off track at T1. Might just not qualify.

Just as I suspected. People running each other off the track. Penalty players still racing like its the last lap impeding other players. A real joke.

Edit2: Stayed away from trouble. Pitted Lap 3 RM->RH, Lap 8 RH->RM

I strongly advise against attempting an FIA race when you've already been awake for near enough 21 hours. I felt fine during my qualifying lap, but come the race everything fell apart, I forgot basic racecraft concepts and just stopped caring whilst I was still amidst a group of cars. Didn't help that Nurb GP really isn't that great a track for racing when you're in a battle pack.

Nations earlier went great, though I needed two attempts because I got wrecked by a bogus penalty in the first attempt. The SR down meant that I couldn't do the first Manu slot, so I did the daily to get my SR back, and then figured I might as well try Nations again whilst waiting for the Manu slot. This too contributed to fatigue hitting me like a truck in what was probably my worst ever FIA race, since I'd already been playing for over 3 hours by the time I did get around to the Manu race.

Oh well, I'll just have to make sure two of my next three rounds are good, which should still be fine since there's two more Gr4 races and a handling based Gr3 track to go.

Gonna be a bit lengthy but here I go my first post here in this thread.

So I finally got the chance to take part in the FIA races after so long because of things like real life obligations, bad internet connection, etc.

In this case if I was doing FIA races a year ago I would've focused more in the Manufacturer Series because being able to represent my favorite manufacturer was like my way of saying thanks.

So qualifying began and it was kinda messy because of some shenanigans that happened such as two drivers in front me just slightly ramming each other etc and because of that I bagged P10.

And then when the intro played and there I saw my PSN name being shown with the car I'm using. It just made me smile. :)

And yes I'm signed with Porsche.

So race begins and the first thing I did was that I just wanted to play it safe and just have fun. After like 4 laps and gotten used to both the car and track, that's where I begun making moves. Now thanks to the Cayman GT4's good fuel consumption, I managed to not refuel the whole race but instead only just changed tires. And then I kept P5 until the very end.

A respectable place. Overall I enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to racing in the Manufacturer Series next time. :)

I'll be posting the race in the videos thread.

The Tesla race is stupid. I got 7s of penalties for being smashed in the last corner, and three SR downs at the very first hairpin for... well, I'll let you know when I work it out.

Too dumb for words.

Nice manufacturer race first slot EU account. Start in 3rd stick to the leaders and spare my tires till lap 4. Then i still had a full grip to overtake the 2 cars in front , pit lap 5.
After this i had 3 seconds advantage to manage till the end .
So if i can give a tip , it would be , don't waste your time and rubber for a battle. Be carefull with your wheel inputs and never force a turn putting angle on your wheel.
The all race was very respectfull , not a single contact and very close racing . I had a lot of fun.

Had another go at the Teslas. Still stupid. Still orange SRs for being hit by moomins, but this time I didn't get any penalties (miracle) and finished 5th for a useful 800pt.

The N-Ring race was dominated by a guy who drove his Corvette to the end of lap 7 on mediums - yes, lap 7, and yes the fronts were bright red but somehow he was still within 2s of his best time - and despite taking on fuel also somehow managed a pit lane visit seven seconds shorter than mine.

Here's how the last lap of my Nürburgring race went:

Crossed the line in 10th, a BMW had tried to pass me in the chicane at the end of the lap but we were even going down the pit straight
He dived at the first corner, the cutback didn't quite work because I was on the outside. 11th
There was a bit of clumsy nudging back and forth for the next few corners, but he was ahead by the hairpin at the bottom of the track
Coming up to the left hander after the Schumacher S the Corvette behind me makes a move. We collide in the corner, I go off, I get a 3 second penalty. Miles away. 12th
8th and 9th had been fighting that lap and ran straight through the final chicane and got reset
I cross the line in 10th and stay there despite my penalty

All in, not bad, given the track and the Gr.4 Nissan's hatred of its front tyres (6/5, H/H)

The Nations Race with the Tesla at TE-SIE is a surprisingly fun combination, until that is, the race which is an absolute disaster.

I qualified P3 but finished P13 because of the amount of cretins who have no idea how to drive and have never heard of sportsmanship. There is a lot to be said for having full ghosting on.

Also, racing at full attack with such little sound is still odd.

After tonight’s debacle both series are getting very ridiculous with idiots who drive into you then you get disqualified for the pleasure...absolutely crazy!!!...don’t think I will putting myself out for these races anymore when I’ve got better things to do like washing my hair!!..

Arg! I'm kicking myself almost got 2nd in an A lobby. Last lap, the chicane. I hit the wall coming out costing me 2 spots! The last possible place to make a mistake and I made the mistake. Would have been my best ever finished, 1226 points for 2nd.

A lot of horror stories about the nations race on here but I must say the top 4 in my race was amazing. Top 4 pulled ahead of the rest, first pulled ahead of me late in the race, at the same time 3rd caught me and we had a nice respectful battle until I bit it. But I'd say 13 of the people in the lobby had red S so I get where people are coming from haha.

No point retrying, I got a little over a thousand points for 4th which is what i would get for a win a B lobby, not worth the risk since I only have time for the first 2 race slots.

I'll take it, time for a cold one, cheers all

After countless laps and several days practicing for the Tesla race, I managed to jump the start. Dropped from 9th to 19th on the start grid ><

Recovered to finish 8th, but more impressive (and the reason i didn't try again) is that I kept my SR 99. I was sure that was gonna get reset.

The Telsa race is an absolute joke; it's extremely difficult to know when you're applying throttle and there isn't much feel in it. The car also handles funny because it's technically rear engined, so you have to brake in a straight line:lol: I only managed 10th after starting 11th, but I was in 8th at one point, before getting a 4 second penalty. What for you say? Getting hit by someone in the rear. Completely ruined my race.

Maybe I just got lucky with my Nations Cup race tonight, but I felt really good about how my entry went.

Got lucky today on the races, only needed to do both once.

Nations I had a good qualy, but the weak draft made it impossible to get away from the pack. I managed to increase the gap to 1s a couple of laps but once you're on that massive straight, the enourmous draft will just kill you. Decent result and points, had potential to get more.

Manu my qualy was bad laptime wise, but I still started in second. Jumped into first but ran 1mm wide on the outside curb of the chicane and almost spun the car, lost the lead (wouldve been impossible to hold it with the tyre wear of Jag x Cayman). First stint was all about defensive driving, second I could drive more consistently.

I have to vent. I prop this game up to all my friends and whoever will listen. That changed as of a minute ago.

Tonight was ridiculous in every way. I read about the horror of the penalty system and shrugged it off because it never hit home to me personally. Tonight all that changed. I started as a C driver with an almost perfect SR rating S for as long as I’ve been playing GTS. After NOT hitting a soul tonight and absorbing penalty after penalty, with nary a soul around, I’m in last place, race after race. It’s as if I’m on some kind of naughty list. No clue… I had people around me scratching their heads saying what????

Here’s my take away after 4 months: I trusted BOP would even the score in that they restrict us from making modification per our preferred style. That is a load of ____! Mitsubishi is by far NOT equal to the others. Nor was Ferrari last year. Oh but PD has the best and brightest test driving…wow...I am curious what these dudes are pulling in a year. You win PD, the jokes on me for picking Mitsu. My fault and I’m certain Mitsubishi Corp. is happy too! I should be a lemming and just go with the heard right? Pick Porsche or Ford or whatever the top 10 are picking. Total joke.

The other is this ridiculous penalty system. NOT the way IMSA or any other racing league (including FIA) operates. Who are these “stewards” you employ? They suck

Why is it F1 by Codemasters doesn’t have the same penalty system?

I’m absolutely disenfranchised now that I am a D, and for no apparent reason. It takes far too much of my time to graduate to a C so, because I am gainfully employed and have little time for folly, I believe this is it for me.

If I were CEO of the PD operation, I’d demand the crew fix the penalty system and don’t rest until it’s done…period. So frustrated right now I cannot describe.

You know what, I need to follow this up with a thought. In an article I read recently, it was mentioned that the reason tuning was taken away was directly related to the fact that the younger generation has no earthly clue how an LSD functions or Down Force, or any other mechanical characteristic of a RACE car. So are we raising idiots? Shouldn’t they have a great forum to learn? And thereby create smarter people?

PD, give back the ability to adjust our tuning, leave the BOP for the ignorant who want to remain ignorant and lose as a result. That is only fair. Plus its realistic right?
