Just did another run on the Nations Cup race.
Qualified for 4th, very much a potential pole was on the cards if I made one more proper attempt.

Race was excellent, very close fighting between an F50 and X-BOW R.
Dispatched the X-BOW by lap 6-7 but left it a little too late to really chase after the F50 in the lead due to the condition of my tyres.
Still, netted a great 2nd place and 1,051 points along with it. By far, one of the cleanest FIA races I've had.

My M4 was more than a competitive match for the F50's in this race.
Going to have another crack at the Manufacturer Series race later tonight.

I can hardly break into the 1:45.9 range at Autopolis on wheel, I don't know what I am doing wrong other than the Supra just cant put the power down.

I gained a couple of tenths at the end of the long straight and to make use of the whole track. Try go get gently on the power as soon as you can and keep steady in the sweeping corner sections. It is a difficult track since it is technical and very easy to lose time.

I agree. Very clean. One of the cleanest races I was in. Close nose to tail braking and cornering. Players gave room and no dive bombing.

Same about the Supra. I bet in faster hands, it could be up the front.

I tell you, it felt great being one of the non-F50/X-BOW cars fighting for victory.
I don't have the GR Supra yet, so I wonder what I could've done with that car in this race.

I've racked up so many kms in it. Super comfortable with its nuances. Feels strong and the sound of it helps. The gearbox shifts quick and well matched to the circuit. T1 is awesome. Downshift to 5th, a bit before turn in and let the car grip with some early throttle input and shoot out the corner with it holding its trajectory. Very predictable there.

The first chicane was smoother than I expected. OH! Thank you, PD for being lenient through there. 👍

Found myself a Japanese streamer that seems to have some fun. He can sometimes speak some English though, and maybe there's someone translating your chat to his mother tongue!



Also raced him during the days of his golden RC F VS my BTCC M4...

Me after that Manufacturer Series race I just won.



I cannot believe I just won that race.
Just a tenth away from pole position in qualifying, had a great start. Tried to avoid the RC F that spun in front so I made contact but didn't destroy my race.

Was still in the battle for the lead with another M6 and an R8, got through the inside to Turn 10 and just took off onwards before T11.
I accidentally left my tyre choice set to Medium instead of picking Hard for the race start, but it turned out to be a blessing.
Gap was about 3 seconds for 6 laps, had a great pit entrance, slapped on a fresh set of Medium tyres and went on to increase my gap around 4-5 seconds ahead of 2nd.

A bit worried as I thought I couldn't make it home on the amount of fuel I had left, but I was so far ahead of the rest of the competition, I just kept short-shifting at certain sections and had enough to make it home on the last lap.

Wish I had saved the race replay but I have most of the race saved as a clip in my Capture Gallery.
Nonetheless, I was really pleased with tonight's FIA action and came out of them better than I had anticipated to begin with.

No pit, no fuel saving, no need to take care of the tires, basically a long daily race B.

It was a majority grid of F50's + a couple of X-BOW R's to boot, but my M4 seemed to be very much up for the job.

I find Amuse to be quite effective on this combo.

Tyres: 1 stop medium to medium is best I think. The pitlane isn't too long and the grip really does fall away by the 3rd/4th lap of a stint.
Fuel: Had about 6% left in the Mclaren with no effort to fuel save. Might be more marginal in some cars. Short shift a bit of necessary.

Did a race in under 18 mins total time which included minimal mistakes and starting at the front. Quali is more important than normal as it is hard to pass and follow here.

Tried a practice race yesterday, anyone with the Supra will need a splash of fuel unless you save for maybe a half lap. Car is so twitchy you'll want mediums anyway

Top car for that race in terms of manufacturers? FYI, I'm driving for BMW and my M6 did quite well to stay in the lead of the race the entire time before the end of lap 1.

The inevitable happened at Dragon Trail

Qualified 11th, with .125 second separating 7th and 12th

Make my through the midfield as people make mistakes, including a guy in a chrome F50 spinning on-track and not ghosting

End up in a 4 way battle for 4th on the last lap, literally 4-wide going down to the hairpin. Another X-Bow goes to the inside of me and just nudges me enough to put me off, at a section where the grass appears to have been airlifted from the Somme

Still, more points than Saturday, so I'm improving

Now, in the last season, it was allowed to compete in all 5 races and your best points were counted towards your total.
This latest season however I raced in the first race and scored 1130 championship points.
I entered the 2nd race of the evening and only managed to get 819 points.
My 1130 points disappeared and for my first race on my score sheet, it only shows the 819 points from my last race.

I've looked around for info on the new point system but can't find anything anywhere.
Has anyone had the same issue and/or has anyone seen this new point system announced?

No, only on hard . But i did another test this morning , 1 stop on medium is a lot better , like @TRC_Stagger told me.
The only thing i've changed that allow me to save better my tires is to low all the volumes as low as possible.
engine sound -5
transmission sound -5
opponent engine sound -5
Tires sound +5
This setting let you alone with the unique precious feedback you can use to drive as soft and fast as possible. Very effective really at least for me. I think i've saved around 15% more rubber this way during the first 6 laps before the pit.

It is completely possible to run the entire race on mediums without a stop but you'll lose a bit of time. Pitted at the end of lap 7 with all 4 tires above half.

In Autopolis i stayed with 6 / 5 strategy , not so good qualif , ended 11 but that was fair . I've gained 2 position after turn 1 because 2 players involved in accident. I was chased by an english gentleman that brake late on purpose and send me away in turn 2 . I stayed on tarmac but the same angry gentleman ram my car doing a wild pit manoeuvre on me. This time i was out and fall to 19TH position.
The car was ok and i was beginning to like the flow of this circuit . After a good race i ended 13th with some good cleans battles in the middle.
It was a fun race. Could have done better that's all.

This evening I have been lucky. The group was a bit less strong than in my first race and I managed to grab pole. Put in steady laps and managed to take it home from start until the end. I was most afraid for the run up to the first corner but it went well. After that I got in a rythm and pulled through until the end of lap 7 to change tires. On exciting the pit I was still in front of the rest of the pack and managed to extend my lead. Resulted in this

Are you driving up to the redline? If you short shift at halfway (looking at the tach bar on the HUD), you'll be slightly faster on the straights on top of saving fuel.

0 stop medium strategy for me after bottling my Q lap xD

LogSwapper and Autopolis don’t really go together..seems to be one of those tracks where the car feels completely different in free practice than it does in the race.
It’s been a while since I’ve rage quitted fia-race out of frustration. Break time from the game again

My advice is to join/open a lobby to have a closer feeling to what you encounter in the race. The free practice is quite useless, unless you don't know the track
