The GT-R stood no chance at Brands. I was very happy to get it into the 29s, but the whole lobby was split by 1 second. 1:29.8 put me at 17th, the next 2 tenths was almost 10 positions. The car is heavy and slow at brands, with poor tire-wear and heavy fuel usage so I was at at disadvantage for the rest of the race.

Here's the 1st race I did, more exciting than my 2nd attempt but ultimately the points are nothing either way.

The testing I've done suggests that's quickest. No stopping is possible but you have to fuel save like a madman. Tyre wear seems okay to not change them.
It adds some strategy options too. If you're stuck in traffic you could pit early to give yourself some free track, but obviously you won't have anyone to slipstream along the 100 mile long straight.

changing tyres is going to be situational... it's about the same overall race time.

Race pace depends mostly on if you have a drafting buddy or not.

Personally I'd change tires just because of how much I hate being on old rubber.

On pace, it basically evens out. But with worse tires, you risk pushing too hard and hitting the walls on the last lap where everyone's caught up to you and you're fighting to stay in the slipstream.

Not only that, but you purposely put yourself out of the draft battle (because you're likely going to be in one). If you short filled your tank, you're gonna be suffering to the end while everyone else is pushing towards the finish.

It really depends on what level B you are. There's a big difference between the top of B and the bottom, and the lower down the DR ranks you go, the more drivers will be at that level, especially B since that's where a lot of players seem to plateau. I really don't know about your region, but here, a high level B driver would probably be somewhere around the 7th to 10th split lobby but I'm really not sure. It depends entirely on number of participants, which is determined by the popularity of the combo as well as the day and timeslot. What is your DR normally? And how many FIa points typically go to the winner in the races you've joined?

If you're correct (and I don't say you're not), I completely misunderstood Winnie's earlier explanation. My understanding would be that B/S will be about 20th split or most probably 30th split as there's plenty of A+ and A drivers with S rating ahead of B/S.

I think you understood my explanation correctly, I just don't think a B driver would be the 20th lobby down, unless maybe he's at the bottom of DR.B. A few more things to consider: only a fraction of the GT Sport players enter FIA races, so even though there are plenty of A and A+ drivers in the game, many of them won't be participating. In my region, sometimes there aren't even enough A+ players to fill one lobby, which sucks because the skill gap is huge from high A to high A+. That's 25000DR difference! Also, S-rating alone doesn't get you into these high points lobbies, it must be above 91. You can still be S, and end up in a lobby where the winner takes 300pts. So shrink that total number even more, because as DR decreases, there is a higher ratio of players who are below SR 91.

I hope this clears some things up.

Qualified okay, but went off to avoid the car ahead at the chase. I thgought I was far enough behind, but lost aero or something. Car would not pull up. Anyway, I should have stayed on RH after I pitted.

Most annoyingly, the player in 9th, tried to call me out before the start. Posted for players to watch out for me and some other player. ME?!! I'm one of the damn fairest players in Sport Mode! That player was two or three spots behind me in qualifying. Told him I hope he/she isn't on gtplanet.
Trying to defame me is a no-no.

Meanwhile another 6 race night for me
Finally got an 1800 for nations to improve me a bit, only problem is noble got a 2100 because of the carnage up front
Manufacturers was so frustrating, the Aston doesn't have good top speed when the straight is super long and I just couldn't keep up

Quite comical racing today. using FIA account for the manufacturers, got a 5 sec penalty while fuel burning diduri the practice out lap. Penalty ruining the planned 2nd lap so pit and change tires and have 2 q laps. 1st q lap is good, but someone knocked over a bin at the chicane and I tapped that bin and slowed, then promptly run out of fuel in the 2nd q lap. Still qualified 9th, a second off the leader.

Race start and got a 2 sec penalty in T1 for someone banging into me. Served the penalty and is scrapping along at the bottom half, doing a no-pit and was in front for a short while. halpily 4th and with 5th getting a 1.5 sec penalty, and I hit the barrier, then crash into 5th, for combined 4 sec penalty... Finished 9th for 9xx points.

Intended to do a Race C do regain some SR for 2nd slot, but all I got is Honda SF... Need to grind to 700k and selling the Honda SF to buy a Toyota version..

Regained SR and go into 2nd slot a bit tired. botteld the final q lap again, banker good for 10th. Smooth in race, but opponents are much stronger as well. Got spinned by a porsche in the final lap chicane while I am preservopr my 1% fuel. A bit mad at the Porsche and thought about waving and handing him a penalty, but withdraw this idea as I ran out of fuel and waiting him to get past. HE DECIDED TO BUMP ME TO THE LINE AND PRESERVE MY PLACING AND EVEN APOLOGIZE AFTERWARDS!! He don't need to, what a gentleman Get only 10xx points so clearly no-pit strategy backfired.

Did a final Race C to get back to 99 before calling a night, and practically lost all DR gained today.

Your DR is currently 14,096, and SR is 26. Spend some time increasing that SR before your next FIA race if possible, and you will be matched in the best possible lobby for your DR level. With SR that low, I can't imagine your next FIA race being worth more than 100-200pts for the winner. If you enter all of the timeslots and have clean-ish races, your SR should be pretty high by the last two slots, and those lobbies should be worth a lot more points.

Actually that GTP_ account is my main one, but not the one I use for FIA races because I'm from Brazil and that account is an american one. I use another one I made especifically for the FIA races, with my correct info and everything else.

DR A/B and SR S lobby at Tokyo East Outer, and literally no-one knows how to behave.

First corner cluster**** where I get smashed into cars in front despite having my brake lights on (but not slowing) at the 200m marker because there's cars in front, idiots, and we can't all stop in the same place. Only car in the lower half not to come out of that with a penalty, but I did have front and rear aero and engine damage on an already hamstrung Atenza.

Further idiots serving penalties like the obstacle cars on The Spy Who Loved Me, further idiots running deep at the final hairpin and then just trying to rejoin onto the apex (I got a 1s penalty for hitting the rear corner of and spinning an idiot in an M6), and frustrated idiots who are eight places down because of their idiocy just battering through the pack for more penalties.

Avoid.

Finished 3rd at Bathurst with a best lap time of 2:07.959. This was the slowest of the top 12 finishers, 13th doing a 2:08.

I should have as well. First lap was fine. Second and third were ridiculous. No one had patience before the pit stops. I was running top 4 & 5 and cars caught up because I was allowing the car ahead to catch itself bouncing off walls.

I had let a Viper regain control. Didn't pounce in it to grab the position. Next thing, a GT-R and another car just sideswipe me and I get 3 seconds. I got jostled more times and had it. Enough!

All they had to do, was be patient for the straights. I attacked and didn't care I got a further 5 seconds. Served my penalties at pit on lap 3.

Moved up from last and gained positions towards the end. Can't even remember where I finished I was that upset. That's what I get for missing the earlier races.

I.was in a B/S and C/S lobby for Manufacturer's Cup, and I was shocked at how well behaved everyone was. Only one driver in a Lambo was ramming others, but that had little impact beyond the first turn, as they fell to the back of the grid with constant penalties from hitting the walls. I was in pole briefly during qualifying on my second attempt at the race, but fell back to 8th in the AMG SLS, and climbed up to 4th in the race. The only incident I was involved in was a slight nudge on another, much slower Mercedes who was constantly drifting into my line and braking for turns that I was going flat out through. They also ignored my flashing lights, so that's on them.

Nations cup was sadly very much like my first attempt at Manufacturers - tried to save fuel and tires to attempt a no-stop, but didn't save enough fuel, and lost far too much time doing it. Came dead last, and it was the last time slot of the night. Back to the drawing board on that one.

All going well until that point. Started 12th, up to 7th, everyone driving relatively cleanly, then bang...someone sent me into the Tokyo night sky!👎

For the Nations race I tried to no stop a lexus, but unfortunately it didn't really work. Not sure if it was the lack of my pace at Bathurst, but ended up qualifying in 15th and could only make it up to a mediocre 12th.

Did manufacturers twice. 1st time got ruined when a guy tried to go up the inside at the 1st corner, nudged me into the wall and I got a 5 second penalty that dropped me into a pack that was fighting with each other. Ended up picking up more penalties and finished a lowly 17th.

Tried it again, but had issues with slow cars on my qualifying laps so ended up in 12th. Managed to stay out of trouble for most of the race, and then had a really fun battle for 6th place at the end, which ended with me getting pipped by 2 cars on the line (needed the line to come about 10m earlier). Was good clean racing though, so that was enough for me. Last 2 laps are on the video below

About to enter the 9PM Manufacturer race, my internet cuts out

Enter the 11PM one, everything's going fine. Last lap. Me and two other guys are following each other around - I don't think any of us put tyres on at the pits, since we were all about the same pace. Going through the final left hander before the hairpin one of them slings it up the inside, knocks me into the wall, I get a three second penalty

To make this worse, I've just checked the replay and they were both on fresh tyres. If I'd changed, I would've won. I've been irate at this game before but this sort of despondency is a new feeling.
