Due to demotivation after ragequitting an SF19 race, which dropped my SR from 95 to 78, I've resorted to recon mode, plus imminent storm threats.

What are people's opinion on the following scenario involving 2 cars one behind another in a race on Bathurst:

Approaching a corner after a long straight (the back straight at Bathurst when coming down the mountain), the car infront (that is at risk of being overtaken) puts his car in the middle of the road, not taking the normal racing line or taking a defensive line, but just plants their car in the middle of the road, making the car behind having to go on grass to get past him and attempt an overtake on the outside or inside.

What are people's opinion on this? Is this a legal racing tactic, placing your car in the middle of the road approaching a corner during a fight? It happened to me twice yesterday during the Bathrust FIA race, where the car infront of me didn't want to commit to a defensive or normal racing line, essentially trying to block me, and made it extremely dangerous for both of us.

Well Tokyo was, well....Tokyo. Managed 7th after running out of fuel. I have to apologize to The_Good_Gamer1 for the love tap at the last corner. Otherwise it was well, Tokyo! :)

My manufacturers race from Oceania stop split now uploaded to youtube. Bit messy first lap but some good racing throughout.

C'mon Ferrari drivers! The car is capable of better, we can get her into the top 12!

Manu: Honda was surprisingly good in Tokyo. Won a mid-A lobby for 1588. Still tops for Honda in NA.

Used a double slip stream on the long straight to snatch pole in quali. Managed to break the slipstream of 2nd place to pull a couple second gap. Then conserved fuel as much as possible while still maintaining the gap. The win was never in doubt.

My DR just isnt high enough to get a chance at real points. I think 40k DR is about as good as I'm going to get. Winning Honda would be nice...but the 2 A+ driver still haven't done 3 races yet. So we shall see

Also, I know a lot of people have strong feelings about Tokyo East...but just wanted to point out that the tire wear felt just right for that race

How do you like the Honda’s? I signed with them this time but haven’t done a race yet.

The Tokyo Expressway can be carnage and a recipe for negative SR.
However, I did great practice times and could actually convert that to a good qualifying time.
The tire wear was very low so I did not have to pit during qualifying and actually had the last lap be my best.

I started in 3rd and in the tunnel I passed the Toyota and the Nissan GTR infront of me using the slip stream.
After the tire change I was way ahead and I don't know why the Dodge Viper behind me fell back so much. I even watched the replay from his perspective to see. I think he just had to gas up much more than me...
See the edited race for the highlights below ... My FIRST WIN in the Manufacturer series

I did 3 Bathurst mount panorama yesterday , 2 on my EU account , 1 wrecked and 1 win with 1800+ - points also 1 race south america account whith a 4th place and 1800+- points too.
One thing i've learn in those races is that news tires was a better option in lap 4 than lap 5 .
The lightest weight of the car at the second half of the race was very benefic to the tire waste .
4 laps starting with full tank eat the same amount of rubber than 5 laps finishing the second half of the tank.

It's definitely not the meta on any track, but not bad. It does nothing great but not too bad either. Just be careful with rear tire wear because it can get sketchy and snap on you. I think it's one of the forgotten unappreciated manufacturers

Looking forward to this weekend, two very different races than the last few weeks. I'm about 3 seconds off the Top 10 at Tsukuba, gave up on lap times in the end and had some fun, Initial D style:

Nurburging was a different story, the damp track and low visibility remind me of the final mission challenge from the campaign, and how much of a fun time nightmare that was. I finally managed to set a time without penalties or crashing out, but I'm about 30 seconds off the Top 10. Plenty of room for improvement, and plenty of "Code: Brown" moments, but it's important to remember that however much a fast lap feels rewarding, it all comes down to what happens when everyone hits that first corner, all at once...

Nurb 24 at least i don't have to worry about my car being destroyed by heavy damage on.

Still gonna be an interesting one and expect lots of crashes and failed qualifiers

Edit: nevermind, only 2 laps? That's horrible!

Was really looking forward to Nurb until i did a practice race in a lobby last night. Usually do pretty well on it when its been in daily races but lat night came in last in a 11 car lobby.

Don't know if its the Lexus or if its the conditions but the car felt slow and really struggled to keep it on the track having to brake a lot harder on corners than i expected. Just couldn't catch up with anyone in front. Might skip the race but really didn't want to miss this one :(

Wow skipping the weekend. I'm trash at nurb 24. It's fun but im not anywhere near competitive. In my life I've only ever had maybe a few dozen laps and it feels like so many ppl have done hundreds. I would need weeks to learn the track properly...

I easily have at least 1000 laps at Nurb over GT6/PCARS/GTS, and I’m still terrible at it. Won’t be doing manufacturers either.

Looking forward to Nations, haven’t done a race in 2 weeks since the last 4 combos have been garbage, will be nice to get the road cars out again.

Same. As someone who usually doesn’t have a lot of time to race and practice, I shy away from Nurb. I learned it just good enough for gold on circuit experience, which wouldn’t fare me well in the 2nd split lobby to say the least, lol.

I think what Honda is great at is the fuel and tires used that to get my first and only FIA win, I used them last season and enjoyed the car, it is highly overlooked because it isnt on leader boards very often.

I'm going to do the Nurb 24H event for sure , just because i'm a big fan of this track since a long time and i'll not loose this oportunity to race there.
Even with a tire wear at level 19 , this is a stupid number clearly , i remember that the world championship last year was a level 2 tire wear just for information.
So , we have to think about a little strategy right now , i'm going to share what i've found after some test today with my Porsche GR3.

If the qualification time is still 10 minutes , you'll have to do the first lap at good pace but low speed in turns to spare tire wear. EDIT: Qualification is 15 mn so no rush)
I had a good result with a lap in around 9:45 to 9:55 ( a bit risky , you can pass the 10 mn time ) This way you only eat 5 to 8% of the 4 medium tires ready to attack your fast lap .

For the qualification fast lap i've used brake balance on 0 , a too high positive number ( brakes oriented on the rear ) eat more rear tires than front and let the car a bit unsafe at the end of the lap, you only have this lap to perform and spinning would be dramatic.

For the 2 laps of the race medium tires are not enough to make the distance at good racing pace , you need to low too much your performance to complete the 2 laps and the +grip option is not a vantage anymore.
I had really good results using racing hard at the front and a brake balance -5 for the 2 laps racing conditions. Much more faster overall and still enough rubber to finish the 2 laps of the race at a good racing pace.

Gasoline is not a problem , full RPM fuel map 1.

Good luck everybody.

Just one lap. 13 seconds slower than 10th. As posted above, it's the race that counts. Hope players made some proper N2 liveries for the AE86 race. :)

I'm live on Twitch - Watch me at twitch.tv/lionface74

Streaming manu cup in the ferrari, oceania top split. Should be fun!

Edit, bit of a fail first time out, going again soon

EDIT AGEN, going live again

I doooooooon't think many player sin this group have raced on N24.

They were going off. Some bumped players off with impatience. I was patiently behind a Genesis and I get a tap from behind giving me an orange arrow. I caught up to an R8 and just stayed behind it. It got loose, went off and I just tagged the front corner of it. Slowed me down by at least 5 seconds.

Wondering if some players think the red on the tire graph is, "warm" not "worn"...

Edit: it was mainly a D/S room. Thanks PD. Who needs to go to the Finals?

another thing. I just missed the Nations by a few seconds. This hour long wait needs to shortened.

In qualifying, how much of a gap do you need to leave before you can reasonably expect the car in front to let you pass?

At N24 I closed down nearly a 10 second gap to the car in front in qualifying, tried to pass at Wippermann, collided, spun and got a 4 second penalty. Started last on the grid.

The collision in itself was my fault... But did I just need to leave more of a gap? And if so, how much? 15 seconds? 20 seconds?

I was about a minute behind everyone else as I wasn't taking that risk

Are you guys Q’ing on hards or mediums? Mediums are shot by about 1/2 to 3/4 way through the out lap.

Mediums wouldn't be bad if you drive slow on the outlap, just guessing.
If i just want to survive then i'll pick hards and do some sunday driving without crashing or finding any traffic.
(depends on the kind of room, mine would probably be carnage)
