I do a lot worse in Nations. It's probably because the combos are more varied which means more practice required. Doesn't help that I usually do Nations first when I get home without much warm-up.
I definitely get caught out by some of the combos (preseason karts I didn't even bother, SFR I was way off the pace in) but even the ones I'm good at it never seems to go right. Won the first and last rounds but only 2200 point races, Lambo/Monza I was on pole for but outbraked myself slightly and the guy behind then punted me off and it turned into a total mess after that, gr3/willow had the pace to win but made one mistake resulted in being last by 15 seconds after the first lap, gr4/Maggiore i had to miss, gr3/kyoto I got blocked by some guy in quali and then a teleporter put me into the wall so started last.

So what do we think the new structure will be? I’m hoping they split the races on different days usually can only enter one or the other. Definitely think the championship will be longer, as @adstomko said there are 10 columns on the results screens so could be ten races per season?

And from what others have said, this license thing keeps on popping up. We still only have beginner and intermediate in license challenges so perhaps they will add it in that section? Maybe that’s why we got the planned break to give us opportunity to earn it? It sounds as though you can only have one account maybe linked to a license?

And the return of DRS, I get the impression that this will have more meaning than just DR level? Well I hope it does but certainly raises questions.

What do we all think?

Surely there will be 10 races for championship.

i think also that "S" DR rating will come back... it will be given abiouvsly to fastest drivers and maybe not only based on their DR rating..
My feeling is that also final placement of pre-season could be considered for that... what do u think about?

Well I am looking forward to the info for the upcoming Season 1.

My final results from the pre-season (taken from GT Sport website) are as follows:

Nations Cup:

World Ranking: 3999
Domestic Ranking: 547

Total Points: 487

Overall I am pretty happy with that result, I was hoping to come in the top 5000th overall but a little disappointed I slipped out of the
top 500 UK wise but my race craft needs and DR need work if I'm going to improve that.

Manufacturers Series:

World Ranking: 4295
Manufacturer Ranking (Toyota): 326

Total Points: 454

Again a pretty good result, in top 5000 for the world ranking but very happy with the manufactuer ranking given the Toyota 86 wasn't
the greatest for getting good results.

Same for me; The "aliens" will destroy me for sure, but who knows ? ;)

Also I really want to post my preseason results too :D Starting a trend who will probably never catch up

In the Nations cup I ended up with the 406th position, 35th local (Italy); in the Manufacturers Cup got 240th and.............(drum roll)...........FIRST with the Alfa :D Yeah, I know I should be in a mental istitute for only thinking to use the Alfa, but an Italian like me doesn't care

I was 74th in the Americas and 6th for Mazda in Manufacturers, and 32nd overall and 7th in Canada for Nations, which I’m happy with. I did 6 of the 8 races in both.

Unlike everyone else I’m always better in Nations since the one-make races are my strong suit and I like the different cars used. I’m always garbage at Gr.3 so I’ll never be great in Manufacturers.

Interesting that emails will be sent to the successful candidates who requested to enter tournaments. I wonder how they will be selected. Solely on DR?
All kinds of interesting here. There is a "Local" ranking separate from the Regional ranking. Curious why they chose "local" instead of country. Possibly due to the large difference in numbers of players in each country. And "tournaments or other events" might mean there's a lot more planned than just the FIA season.

That seems to be the case. 'London' is also mentioned as an example. So it would be a great way to race/meet other drivers from the same area.
It sounds rather exciting.

Yeah I thought that was an interesting statement, the ‘request to enter’ part? Have to qualify in future? Or just DR or something to do with DRS maybe?

It will probably be linked to age limits and we have to fill out a survey of some description.
I doubt that they'll 'cherry-pick' drivers to race. That would cause some issues amongst the community.

It appears your local region/age is not public. No I don’t think they will cherry pick either. Nothing in the new update so looks like we have to wait till mid June to find out, doesn’t help I’m impatient!

Anyone else notice that developer screenshot in the patch notes has blown that there is 9 Rounds in 'Series 2018 - Season 1'?

As long as there are more 3's than 4's.

Top 4 of 9 races count is the other juicy detail on there too

Very similar to Pre-Season structure. I'd put good money on Round 9 being a Top 24.

Very similar, that said could be a completely unrelated random screen shot as well.

Also will the age thing play a part? Ie different championships for age ranges, they split the ages at the Nürburgring event at the drop in event that they were also running

Imagine being one of the fastest on the game and it tells you you're ranked 2nd or lower in your city/county. That would hurt.

I think it hurts more when you don't even know the regions you selected
I'm registered as Hong Kong so it's all Chinese and incomprehensible to me :( and I thought I finally had a chance to select the correct country (and age) :(

Am I the only one thinking here how utterely discriminating this is? And how sony is forcing you to drive for country and nickname that you chose years ago? For example my main acc is since ps3 was released...

Someone understood ;w;

You obviously missed my point. I don't want to represent any country (in my case I can represent 2 of them) but still want to compete, forcing me to do something I don't want and which is based on Nationality and place where I live,is discrimination!!!

Oh, whoops :O

Discrimination would be them banning you from competing because you were from a certain country

Nations event at N24 they barely bothered with the fact Giorgio is from Italy, the 'Nation' part only came into play for semi final lobby placement so it's not as if they go full cringe nationalistic about it.

I don't know all the details, but I'm sure there are reasons PD are asking for this. To be invited to live events, it helps to know where you are located. There might even be real prizes that will need to be mailed and why would they go through all the international hassle if they can mail from nearby?

If you don't care about the live events, prizes or your local standing, you can still compete. Just put in any random area. You can also create a new account.

There's a lot of discrimination in this world. This is not an example of discrimination. Saying it is downplays a real problem.

Yeah... urrr... about that... Zoky is one of the best drivers in this game

Yeah, that's kind of my point. I'm pretty sure the benefits are going to be only for the best in the game.

If they want the benefits, then enter the location and stop crying about discrimination. If they want to be anonymous, then be anonymous and stop crying about discrimination.

Ah, I see what you are catching onto, fair enough. :)
