Thought so. Barring any unforeseen BoP changes tomorrow my decision's made:cheers:

Edit: Are some of you guys going with Nissan? I thought about it for a minute but decided against it. The Gr4 is nice but the Gr3 turns like a tank.

Both Nissan's are underwhelming imo. If you want 4WD both Mitsubishi and Mazda will outperform Nissan (with current BoP) imo.
Also the gr.3 Nissan is very oversteer happy.

Nissan will be interesting, since anyone going for the contest win is pretty much giving up any chance at the overall championship, so I don’t see the elite aliens going with Nissans, in the America’s anyway. I think it’ll be a battle of some of the low A+’s/high A’s using Nissans. But not me.

But then again, a trip to Japan is probably a better prize than some live esports and a trophy

Oh, I don’t want 4WD. I only mentioned Nissan because of this.

I saw @Zkippe (not in my races, only in streams) use it quite a lot recently. Maybe he is going to use it?

Would like to see the driver/manufacturer combo after season 1. See the leaderboard to see which manufacturer is least popular (in terms of fastest driver on marque). Probably Alfa again.

Let's just say I'm seriously thinking about it... I've been torn since this morning :nervous:
I was planning to use Chevy but the Nissan announcement really threw a curveball to my plans. The prizes are quite nice in there have to say. I've been using the GT3 Nissan since the beginning quite a bit, I think I have around 7000 km on it, but as you said it's quite weak compared to pretty much any other car. It's only strong point is straight line speed, and fuel economy to an extent. GT4 I've really no clue I think I've done one FIA race with it. If you compare Nissan to Chevy by only the cars and nothing else then Chevy is easily the preferred pick. But then again... possibility to go to Barcelona, Fuji, PD studios, Silverstone... there's a lot on that side of the scales as as well :D

Also I think certain "Mr. GT-R" would appreciate my choice if I went with Nissan :sly:

Anyone ParticUlarly want to have a Guess at what I'm going for :P?

Watch a nerf come in for it tomorrow haha! That nissan thing threw in a huge curve ball especially as it wasn't actually very clear what was happening, after rereading the T&C a few times I understand it a bit now... I think? Still a no from me, I'm not being moved away from my choice haha!

RCZ of course.

Still think it would be funny if they all tried to groom us with mad prizes.

McLaren could have Jenson live with you for a week
Honda gives you a free lawnmower.
VW gives you a diesel car.
Toyota you get a hybrid.

I don't think you'll win with a pug mate, even if dogs don't need to fuel save

Well, I believe the BOP should be based on the track and not the car, but I know that is not how the FIA is done, but the game makes it crazy with each cars advantages on certain tracks

I'm aiming for world finals and the car I enjoy driving :P! I love the look and feel of the RCZ Group 3 so I'm sticking with it :)!

Yup I agree there, it should definitely be track based! As if I added something like Monza to my BoP test suddenly some power cars are going to jump up the list, and then if I added Le Mans they could suddenly be out ahead by miles! It's why I personally chose a mixture of all sorts to hopefully find some form of balance. The thing is that functionality is in the game as there's 2 different BoPs for Ovals and Circuits, so they could add more as it's just a database option.

You should see A+ drivers in every manufacturer, we're not all daft enough to jump into the same one
I don't know, that Fuji Trip prize by Nissan is looking pretty good right now

BMW you get a turning signals lesson

The mclaren is a great car but severely under bop'd. I love to drive it but not in an FIA race fo sho

Due to brand affinity (Subaru) and my current road car (Citroën) I will be choosing between those two. I never did very many FIA test races as they became too frequent, but I was satisfied with both brands. I am not trying to speculate with what could be the best brand (I am only A/S).

Has anyone come across a reason NOT to choose Subaru or Citroën?
The Gr.4 Subaru is a sitting duck on a straight and the accelerated front tire wear blunts its handling advantage. I rarely even saw the GR.4 WRX in any high end FIA rooms.

Renault/Peugeot you get a french car and 1 year subscription to the RAC road recovery scheme

What do you guys think of the Lexus and Subaru? Those are my 2 current choices for this Season...
I used Lexus for the preseason and it's good all around. Wouldn't call it the meta anywhere, but consistently one of the better cars at most tracks. Although the May BoP did reduce power on the Gr. 4 by 1%, so take that into consideration.

I really want to use Subaru, but it's just not fast enough. If it gets a buff, might be worth another look. On the other hand, I doubt a lot of people will pick it, so might be easier to get closer to the top of the Subaru rankings.

edit: Don't the APAC races start fairly soon? Makes me think this update won't change much at all related to the FIA championship. Hope PD doesn't have to delay the start of the FIA races.

That's also my thought process on the Lexus. Despite the 1% power nerf on the RC F, it's still a beast down the straights. For Gr. 4 I'm betting on a power car since I'm not good at 4WDs and cars that rely on agility. Renault getting a nerf is a matter of when, really, so I'm not considering it despite the FF Megane. As for Subaru, the Gr. 4 is the only 4WD I can be competitive in, and the Gr. 3 is also an all-rounder. I agree with you with it lacking speed though...

I hate to say this since I'm a Subaru fan, but Mitsubishi had better lap times on both Gr. 3 and 4 (during my very limited testing.)

I'm also thinking about going all in on my favorite Gr. 3 car and just giving up on Gr. 4. Should be fairly obvious which manufacturer I have in mind.

Can we switch driving styles? I'm a hardcore Mitsubishi fan but I'm consistently faster with the Subaru, Gr. 4 and Gr. 3 :(

I was also sort of thinking about disregarding Gr. 4 altogether since I've been worse these past few weeks in it, but the thought of an FiA Manu Season that's predominantly Gr. 4 scares me :scared:

I think i have gotten a little better in GR4 after finding out i can use Mitsu with TC 0 :dunce:. Think of GR4 races as free races, no pressure. You may even win as every race counts.

I'm compelled to pick Citroen because I like both the Group 4 and Group 3 variations of the GT by Citroen. I've had wins in both cars, however I haven't spent much time with the Group 3 car. This is the opposite with the Mercedes AMG GT GT3. I would want to pick Mercedes again because it's the manufacturer I chose originally, but the SLS Group 4 is not that competitive. Decisions decisions...

This whole thing caught me in holiday trip in Wales, literally while walking the Snowdon.
How does the championship work? In the manufacturer series I mean. is it divided in Gr3 and Gr4? I'm rookie, as usual I would appreciate if you share a bit of your knowledge about the championship structure. Thanks!

Yeah so you 'sign a contract' with a Manufacturer of your choice, and you are given a Gr.3 car and a Gr.4 car from that choice, to use in the championship. Some of the races will be Gr.3 races, others will be Gr.4 races. Each race lasts about 20-25 minutes, with a 10 minute qualifying session beforehand.

There are specific time slots that you can race at, but you can only attempt 1 race per round. i.e, if the round is Gr.3 at Nurburgring, you cannot take part in that event more than once, even if your only attempt goes terribly. And there are 5 available time slots per round, which are at 6:10pm, 7:10pm...etc...10:10pm, and you enter one of those slots on the day of the round.

You get given points based on how strong the lobby was (for example, a lobby full of A+ DR Drivers will give out more points than a lobby full of D DR Drivers), plus your finishing position in that lobby.

Over the season, only some of your best rounds will count, and will be totalled up to give you a ranking, for the world, nation, manufacturer and I think also specific region.

The FIA races are gonna be slightly longer:
7 laps of Circuit de la Sarthe in Nations Cup, and 12 laps of Suzuka in the Manufacturers Cup.

Hm, apparently Arizonians aren't eligible for the FIA championship, unless I'm misunderstanding the rules presented to me. RIP that state in particular.

what are the multipliers? did some blind testing last night and assumed 7/8 laps of le sarthe with 10x Tyres and 8x fuel. Worked out to a 4 lap stint in the 919 with fuel saving.
