Wow i like the idea of a no stopper. I'll attempt it and stream. It will probably end horribly haha, but should be entertaining either way.

Damn I tried the no stopper and almost messed it up because of it haha.

Had pole and saved fuel mostly on 3 thinking it would work, but on lap 5 I noticed there's no way I'll finish the race, so I had to pit. Didn't change tyres though and barely had to refuel because of my saving so I still came out leading, but that was unnecessary close.

which car were you using? were you short shifting?

Nope you can't join, won't let you enter... So if I get 1 more blue screen I basically can't qualify :(

Has anyone else had a penalty point glitch in the first fia nations cup race? I had 10 secs of penalty that randomly began to increase. When it reached 1min of penalty the warning message came up statong that if I didnt reduce the time (slow down) I woild be disqualified. I stopped on track and dropped it down to 10 secs ,then when I set off again the glitch happened again and the penalty points (time) increased again to 1 min. I stopped a few times to let it drop below a minunte, then continued. Then randomly gpt disqualified. Properly dissatisfied. 0 points, can't re-enter again. And my Dr and Sr were effected. Am I missing something

That’s how penalties have been for a while since an update a few months ago, once it goes above 10 seconds it increases on its own until you serve it, and you get DQ’d if it gets too high. Encourages people to actually serve their penalties during the race

That's too bad. :boggled:

Since I got a blue screen after warm-up of the second to last round of the Nations Cup pre season, I'm now always restarting the game before joining a FIA race, hoping to minimize the risk of it happening. Fingers crossed...

Just finished my first FiA Nations Championship race at Sarthe. Qualified 14th due to the notorious penalty system ruining my qualifying at the end of the first lap, invalidating the second and I didn't have enough time to put in a full lap but I ended the race in 5th out of around 17 players. (2 of them bailed out.) I think I did quite well. The next race is a Gr.3 race. Which Gr.3 car is best for tackling Yamagiwa?

Time to start practicing cutting the chicanes without CSA at Yamagiwa  honestly though I'm quite surprised that my pace didn't drop at all without CSA... Last time I checked I was 5/10ths slower without it. But now I even set a new PB at La Sarthe!

Ditto

Yikes. Now I'm afraid of the day when the bulk of the room gets disconnected. It's happened before.

It's silly they need some form of classification in the background, someone blue screened in the manufacturers to from what I saw... Although I really shouldn't have raced in it, was still frustrated from the other so span/went off 3 times, went from 3rd to 12th...

I really just hope there's no more, or at least hope that superstar races aren't 5 million points!

The game should allow people who suffered from a game crash to join again. It’s not like it cannot check whether you quit the game on purpose or not. Crash report is there.

I tried to go for a 0 stop strategy.

First of all, the pit stops are way too short. People spent around 10-15 seconds in there. Compare that to the fastest pit stops in the world where one pit stop without refuelling takes 20-30 seconds from entry to exit ...

Second, the tarmac turned into ice after the tyres had 25% wear. From hero to zero in just one lap. Well, I guess it's realistic if it was Pirelli

Next race, I'll try a different approach: maximum fuel flow, as hard as it gets and one stop.

Really? I lose 20-25 seconds to the person behind me if we're on different pit strategies around La Sarthe. Maybe the person you saw that was really quick on the pits didn't change tires

You were driving at La Sarthe today? I drove at Suzuka in the manufacturer series. Maybe the pit time is different at each track like in real life.

Why is there ghosting and damage in this race? it seems people use penalties to get ghosted and use that to overtake through the car in front.

Also the damage is an unnecessary extra penalty. On the final lap i got hit from behind and put in to the wall (Porsche curves). The other driver just drove off and i get a broken car and lose all the positions i gained during the race.

On the pre season i had some great clean races, but i guess that is over now.

So the most FIA points available in a non Top 24 race isn't 3000, because I just got 3040 :D
Congratulations mthomas_95!
I was in the same race but the speed on top of the field was simply to much for me. Finished 12th with a lot of trouble during the race, i guess Le Mans and especially the PD-Penalty-Version, isn´t the perfect ground for me. :ouch:
