But Gr4 is based on the GT4 class, where FF has no presence. We're missing quite a few GT4 cars, I would rather have those in place of the current FF cars.

Gr4 seems to mostly based on trying to combine all of the classes of Super Taikyu other than the top (GT3) and bottom (Fit and Demio) into one class.

I'm just trying to figure out what they will do in the future to get around the Group 4 issue.

Rear wheel cars are basically dying out amongst a load of brands (look at the new BMW 1 series for example), so while Audi could move to the R8 GT4 and that would solve their FF problem, I am not sure what Peugeot & VW would do. Plus a lot of the cars in game are getting a wee bit old so not sure what will happen to Renault, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, etc.

Obviously you could replace the brands, but VW and Peugeot are pretty big names so it would be tough to replace them. Or you could create a rear wheel drive platform like they have done with some of the Group 3 cars. Thing is I quite like having to use the different driving technique that a FWD platform requires, so I would be a little sad to see it either removed or relegated to its own section.

I've no idea what the best plan would be (I would hope the team at Polyphony are thinking about it) but in the meantime I do wish they made the FF cars and 4WD cars a bit more competitive in most races.

I think the BOP is the way it is because at launch and in the first few months the 4WD and FF cars were pretty OP in daily races with no wear, and that’s why they pretty much had to neuter them which killed them in FIA races. More players play the daily races so I think that’s what the BOP is mostly catered to. They almost need two seperate BOPs.

But really I agree with Famine that they need to use the race data they have to make an individual BOP for each track.

Yeah, I've decided to just do Nations this weekend. These high tire wear races in Manufacturers are just off-putting. Fortunately, the Mount Panorama race next weekend looks more reasonable.

Sums it up last few weeks

It's a good race. Couple of people ruined other's race. Pretty much a Daily race C. Had a good battle from where I started. Players that are normally ahead of me, I feel I did well to finish where I did.

Had an awesome last half battle with 6th place. I was following another car and we caught up to the top 7. The car that finished 6th was ahead of me. It got 4th and we battled for the last couple laps. Someone flew through at the top of the corkscrew. Hit that car ahead of me and the car ahead of me winds up getting one second penalty. That was foul.

I'd love this to be a constant series like the Supra Cup. Just use RH,RM.RS tyres.

Have you driven this car on stock settings with racing tires? Killer lift off oversteer for days...

Alright, no stop. Just don't spin. You damage the tires and you won't make it to the end without spinning again. Ask me how I know...
If someone makes you skid, that makes them wear quicker too. Just had a knucklehead divebomb me at the top of the corkscrew. I went from 3rd and dropped to 5th. Tyres were struggling for the last 4 laps. Final lap, final corners, I just had no grip. Lost two more spots on corner exit. The player that divebombed me, was getting all hate messages. Dirty player. It had started ahead of me and was out of sight until that last 4 laps. More points in this one.

How does your DR vary so much from race to race to go from 153 points for 4th to 161 points for 7th?

Probably skipping it.
I did a couple practice races last night, and unlike the other tracks that had tire-shredding races this season, RBR has a lot of grip and you won't die going over the curbs on hard tires. Unfortunately with my tire-saving skills being what they are, I'll have to run 5-6 laps on the hards. Even so, in the practice races I did, I was very competitive and for once didn't have to do an extra stop (mostly because I could actually tolerate the hards for an entire stint for once instead of skating around like Bambi on ice then dumping them after 1 lap).
How does your DR vary so much from race to race to go from 153 points for 4th to 161 points for 7th?
It's luck of the draw, not DR variation. Sometimes your DR will be one of the highest in the room, which means most people will have lower DR than you, and the points will reflect that. Other times you'll have one of the lowest DR in the room (even if your DR hasn't changed much), and the points for each position will be worth more since the average DR will be higher, on account of most people being ranked higher than you.

Just did the first nation's race at Laguna Seca.
Qualified P5. A bit of a mess in the first corner, don't think anyone was to blame but a few slight bumps. I was on the outside and it was well until the exit, as someone on the inside had oversteer and over corrected it bumping me on the outside sand. Luckily only went down to P7. After that a pretty uneventful race. Was able to gain P6 quite quickly and then had a fight with P5. First I had got him but later he got me again, until I got him again on the last lap as I think his tires were finished. So P5 just as I started. 208 points so I'm already satisfied but will probably look into the later races as well as the race is actually pretty fun

Qualified P13 in the nations race without a slipstream with about 8 tenths to pole. Started on the outside of the grid and while I made a good start lost a couple of spots because of some divebombs and just being on the outside. Slowly made my way back to about 11th. About lap 10 an Italian Infront of me went really wide the corner before the corkscrew and swerved Infront of me causing him to end up in the gravel, not how I wanted to gain a place but I'll take it. Last couple of laps just got the edge on the German I'd been battling most race with a move on L13 with a move at the corkscrew for 9th overall. Quite happy with the result as it means a good chunk of DR and a decent points haul for me.

That's a tough no stopper! I completely bottled the qualifying and got 15th on the grid with a 1:44 quali time, while I was running 1:40's in the free practise...
The standing start is probably a mistake, as turn 1 on Laguna Seca + lots of cars is a recipe for disaster. But that got me pretty nicely up to 12th with no other trouble than a little damage on the back of the car from getting rammed.:boggled:

From there I had a really good pace for at least 6 to 8 laps, setting the fastest lap Time for a while (it was ultimately beaten by the race winner) and taking benefit of other drivers mistakes. It is not a very easy track to pass other cars as well... So one really need patience to get a clean pass. I managed to get up to 4th, 11 spots better than my starting position !!!:gtpflag:

Once the tires started to wear, I Lost my pace for a few laps and went down from 4th to 6th .
I got my stuff together and managed to catch up with the guy in front but didn't have enough time, and he also managed to increase his pace. That's a nice finish, 6th, for me and an overall clean race even if I lost my clean race series.:indiff:

Great car and track combo!!!

How does your DR vary so much from race to race to go from 153 points for 4th to 161 points for 7th?
As mentioned above, my first race had above average players. Above my average, if you will. The second race had faster players I've raced. So, I could see how I was ranked lower.

I did get held up in qualifying. Would have been in the top 5 by the times I saw.
Anyway, after watching the replay, qualifying higher may have been for naught, the way that player was pushing others off the track.

Unless you're driving a FF car. Granted, I'm not great at tire saving but as much as I tried, I could barely get three laps out of the RS's with my Megane.

Well yeah its goes without saying your screwed in an FF car at x15 but that's the case with any kind of tyre wear on those cars.

Even if tyrewear was at x4 most of the field would just do 14 laps on softs then a single lap each on hards and meds where as the FFs at best would get 8 laps on softs before they would be ruined.

They really need to find a solution for the megane, pug, scirocco and TT in group 4.

*laughs in Atenza*

Yeah the Atenza is not great either from what I tested tyres wise, but at least you can eek 5 laps out the softs but bigger issue is that car is really slow round the track in general!!

Had a good race at Laguna tonight, qualified 9th, slightly higher than I was aiming for. 1st corner I came out 17th, as expected
3rd corner was back up to 12th 👍
Took it steady, some group battles were slowing me down so let a couple of hungry racers past. Mistakes take their toll and some pitted so I end up 7th. There was plenty of life left in tyres, so don't know why people pitted, but I'll take their place

Did two more races, 2nd race was much of the same, chaos in 1st few corners then settles down, gained 3 places. 3rd race usual until start of 2nd lap & UK guy nxt to me nudges me into pit wall, was going to give way at T1. End up 20th from 7th. Worked way up to 11th. Was going to call the person out but they must have quit b4 race end.

Really good combo tonight (easy no-stop), but totally ruined by just two nobbers who see a back bumper as free braking.

Smashed from 9th to 19th in the back half of lap one, recovered back to 9th by lap 11 only to be smashed back into 13th by what, on review, was the first nobber who hit me in turn two, turn three, the Corkscrew, turn nine and turn ten on lap one... and then smashed into again by him on the final lap as I caught and passed him again. This time he ended up visiting the Lexus signs on the outside of the straight/turn one and I finished 12th for what should have been 5th.

So I did one more try at Laguna Seca tonight. Had a fantastic qualifying and got pole, which I didn't expect. I knew it eas hard to keep that and I messed up the left hander up to the Corkscrew in lap 3, allowing 2nd to pass me. Then I had a nice fight for 2nd, which resulted in me doing a similar mistake again and I fell down to 6th, almost down to 7th in lap 9. Was able to catch up and got back up to P4.

two nobbers
And one of them was in my second lobby. He... did not enjoy his experience of trying to block me.

Oddly, in both races I've caught someone going onto the last lap, and on both occasions they've just tried to smash me off the road. I don't get it. What's so important about 9th place that you feel the need to act like an absolute cock to keep it?

I did lose control and hit someone when I was trying to let them past, thought FFS. Then there was a racer I let past 3 + times & he messed up each time, let the nxt guy thro & they took each other out
