Can any currently signed Toyota drivers confirm if we can choose the Gr4 Supra this season? From memory, I don’t think it was a choice last season, right?

If it was, my apologies. :dopey:

You are correct, we couldn’t use it last season. I forgot to check before resigning with Jag for this season, but it’s not available in game to purchase yet though so it’s probably still not available for FIA either most likely.

It's not. Trust me, it's pretty much the main Gr.4 I use. I'd be all over it.

I'm thinking we'd get the official GT4 Supra at some point. The real one, goes on sale to European customers this March. It's possible that could debut next season. I'd have to edit my previous post about choosing Mazda. Decisions decisions. :D

With these new 3 races only count. I guess I'll sign up with Dodge, and hope for the best. Hopefully the Gr.4 will save my arse

I've been driving the gr.3 yesterday, and while a BeGgInEr car, its fun. its loses out on straights like its a nobody business though.

I went with Dodge last season. My impressions are opposite to yours. Gr.3 car is decent on straights. Just make sure to upshift around 3/4 rev bar. In terms of cornering it understeers because of the long nose, so you need to get good on your trail braking. Wheelspin is almost a non issue because the BOP severely restricts the power so you can just plant it coming out of corners. I find using BB -1 helps with braking performance and also evens out the tyre wear (BB 0 the rears wears slightly more). The Gr.4 is very slow on straights (only slightly faster than the GT86), also understeers and eats the fronts because of that large V10 up front. Using rear BB helps the tyre wear but it loses braking performance dramatically. Apart from that it's easy to drive but you'll struggle to make up positions on pure pace alone. Make sure you draft during quali and get as high up the grid as possible to have a good chance.

IMO it's been proven time and again that all the cars can be quite close if the driver is skilled enough and knows how to exploit its strengths and minimize the weakness. The issue is some cars need a very specific way to drive to get the best out of them, and most people can't quite alter driving style to match the subtleties. Hopefully with the changed points system for Manu this year (only top 3 regions count) we'll have the aliens drive more interesting Manufacturers instead of all clustering among the usual suspects (e.g. Merc, Toyota, Porsche, Lexus, Jaguar).

I've gone Peugeot, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Citroen, Lamborghini and VW over the last couple of years so I am thinking about either Dodge or Audi. Not sure I am good enough to drive the Audi Gr.3 though. I did do a little testing today with both brands, and tbh I struggled a bit to try and get speed out of the Dodge Gr.3 and Gr.4, but I haven't tried with tyre wear on yet so I don't know if that will discount the Audi for me (Audi Gr.3 feels lovely with no tyre wear).

Obviously my choice will be coloured by what ever Livery I find so that might be the deal breaker.

ps. I did best in the Citroen and worst in the Mitsubishi so make of that what you will :)

Alfa Megane test run in a Practice lobby. From the out lap, half worn RS fronts, pit lap 3. 2nd lap was a mid-29.

Put on another RS set. 5th lap was a mid-29. Pit on lap 6.

Put on RMs for the remaining 5 laps. 8th lap 31.6, 9th lap 32.2, 10th lap 33.1, 11th lap/finish 35.0.

If I use the RH, I'll definitely lack grip to keep pace.

This was my plan. 3 soft, 5 medium, 3 soft.

Dates for 2020 season are up: https://www.gran-turismo.com/au/gtsport/fia_championships/2020/

Both Nations and Manu are 40 races with almost no gaps except maybe 1 week break each season (to account for WT weeks I imagine). Absolutely brutal

Here's hoping we can change Manu in between seasons (I'll gladly take a penalty in the form of loss of all points accrued so far) because I can't see myself driving the same 2 cars for 6 months...

Dates for 2020 season are up:
North America
United States of America (excluding Arizona)

Well 🤬 me then. Might as well not even bother...

Now, I really want an official GT4 Supra. 40 manu races, probably 20 of which will be Gr.4 and I can't use the dang "Gr.4" car in the game. I certainly know how Bugatti fans feel.

What is good about increasing the tyre and fuel wear multipliers again, after receiving customer feedback that they are not popular ?

These multipliers have been creeping up again recently and are not going to make the official FIA season very attractive for many people who want to race, if they are in it.

It’s supposed to be racing, but when the tyre and fuel multipliers are high, actual racing on the track (which is what racing is lol) is almost frowned upon! If you dare to break formation in the fuel saving train, be prepared for a post race salty message or 2. This is not motor racing. It’s a tyre and fuel preservation championship.

Please keep the multipliers reasonable so racing on the track can happen.

I'm at a loss as to why Arizona seems to always be the tricky state. Think this also happened in the GT Academy days as well.
I made it to Silverstone the first year with no issues. Had to pay taxes on the value of the trip though because "prizes". What changed I'm not sure, but I think it has to do with the same law that won't allow me to have raffles for prizes in my Facebook group either...

Not directly related to FIA races but in these practice lobbies with the same settings - has anyone else had that tyre glitch? Start qualy on the harder tyres (the ones in car settings that you intend to start the race on), in qualy pit for softs for the hot lap, race starts and it reckons you're on soft tyres - but the grip level and consequently pace is that of the harder tyres.

Had it twice now and it's making me look like a bloody cheat I tell ya! I know I'm on mediums even if it says otherwise (and I run at the same relative pace to others on both stints!)

Just to be safe, I would go straight to the tires and change back and forth right after qualifying just to be safe. I feel that should at least make sure you are on the tires you want.

Out of curiosity, how many of the races count this season? Think the last time I competed, only the top 4 or 5 did.

Can't in a lobby, you just start on what you entered on - at least you're supposed to! You have to cancel the entry to change anything on your setup

For the actual FIA race I'll be fully checked out before it starts. I say fully - I'll probably forget something to do with BB and will notice when the fronts on my Jag look like a Marlboro packet while the rears are hardly touched after about a lap!

They are just bullying Arizona since they refuse to apply daylight savings time.

You very definitely can change your tyres between qualifying and race.

In a practice lobby? I've never been able to. Once you've entered everything in settings is greyed out unless you cancel the entry
I don't know what that is, but in an FIA lobby you can change tyres before and after qualifying by using the gear icon. If you use the spanner/wrench icon, you can't.
