Then you should have got your clean qualifying... I’m sure Nik would have been even faster if “this” or “that” too. Just appreciate it for what it is.
Exactly, I should have. I made a mistake that cost me a win and I know that all too well. But the point I was trying to make is that when you rub it in others' faces how well someone did against others without taking any context into consideration you might as well at least mention the other race on the very same day that didn't go so well for that someone. Otherwise you'll just come out sounding like a zealot.

Let’s just support all the drivers and the results will promote themselves don’t worry! :)
Well said, and that's what the world finals are for in the end :)

Signed Chevrolet after much consideration, theres no way in hell McLaren would make Top 16 manufacturers, even with my help.
Good pick. Would've been mine as well if the whole Nissan thing didn't happen.

Is there a way to find out what the tire and fuel wear will be for Rd. 4 Manufactures at Interlagos? Or is it not known until its the next race on deck (like Tokyo right now)

I got a little disappointed that apparently I'm the only one in my main local area who participated in the opening round of manufacturer cup. It has like 300 000 population. Wish there were more players.

Wished it showed all manufacturers instead of the one you are with in local region. Currently the fastest (of 2) in St. Helens.

Oh

That explains why I'm the only one

Was just 2 Mitsubishi drivers shown up. Nations shows all in main area. Think i'm 24th in Merseyside because I quit.

Oh, it only shows your own manufacturer? I thought it showed every player regardless

Local area (Merseyside) shows 2 people who race Mitsu. Find it weird that I am 24th in Nations, with 31 other Merseysiders.

One question to practice: How do you and others practice for FIA Races with fuel, tires and pit-strategies?
The system in Arcade-Mode is different to the one online. Is there a formula to convert the numbers for tire wear and fuel consumption?
I spent most of my time doing races with tires and fuel off and my biggest problem is to find a good strategy and handle the decreasing grip level. When i do the Dailys C. i´m getting faster after a few races.
But for a one shot like the FIA-Races this isn´t possible.

From my side i can tell you this. The less i practise for the actual race the better i perfom on the same race either xD. I have no idea why it is like that but i have been doing this for months xD

I was the same in ESL Go4 Cups haha

Here's my no stop from the Nations yesterday. Dam the tires on the final chicane on the last 2 laps... the car had a will of it's own. Only managed 861pts but the strategy worked and was a really fun race. Basically fuel 2 for the whole race, short shifting and drafting where possible. A lot of getting penalties for Porsches accelerating into the back of me lol.

So based on the Manufacturer Points system found here https://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/gtsport/fia2018/detail/ and a look through each region leaderboard I've got the standings after Round 1 as;

1. Nissan - 125 points
2. Ferrari - 108
3. Porsche - 99
4. Mercedes - 78
5. Lexus - 72
6. BMW - 68
7. Ford - 65
8. Mitsubishi - 59
9. Dodge - 56
10. Subaru - 52
11. Chevrolet - 46
12. Aston Martin - 46
13. Toyota - 45
14. Honda - 44
15. Mazda - 36
16. Hyundai - 33
17. McLaren - 27
18. Jaguar - 26
19. Citreon - 22
20. Renault - 17
21. Audi - 17
22. Alfa Romeo - 16
23. VW - 14
24. Peugeot - 13
25. Lamborghini - 10

Obviously only 1 round in Gr3, more rounds with both Groups to be more representative. Suzuka is by far the weakest Renault track and that bloody Megane Trophy will eat up points , Tidgney had an off race in the Pug so that threatens to climb as well along with Hellzfire in the Citreon.
Where are my Honda people? It's a competitive car. So close to the top 10.

I'm surprised to see ford so high. I didn't even see other mustangs last night, or in any of the screenshots or videos in here. Also the mustang is pretty terrible around Suzuka imo.

Since when is the Nissan this good at Yamagiwa? I remember this race being close to a FT1 one-make when it was on in sport mode.

Some top A+ guy took the Nissan out first and naturally the sheep followed

There's always a sleeper car just below the top 10 times that is at least just as good if not better. It was the 908/Tomahawk at Le Mans for example.

Sorry for flying a bit off the handle earlier - especially to you, @Alpha Cipher.

EDIT: And as for the site that typically displays a more in-depth look at your DR/SR, how come when I search my username, it seems like it's only recorded my data up to this past January? I only played the October beta at that point, and I didn't buy the full game until around this past April.

EDIT2: Gonna move some text that was in this post to the Daily Race thread.

Official FIA sanctioned championship turns out to be competitive shocker

Haha...jokes on him. Its the only game I play:)

@vvise I took Ford knowing it would not have that many takers and I was right. It did perform good at Suzuka. I ran a 2.00.8 in practice and that was only 3-4 laps. Had a terrible qually but due to a big crash came in 5th. I have a feeling we'll be just fine.

I set up a practice lobby to get an idea for what fuel burn and tire wear will be like for today's Kyoto race. I really hate these dramatically accelerated tire wear rates. I spin the tires just a bit out of one corner and that's instantly like 5% of my right rear gone.

A 14 lap race, but my tires only went to lap 4 before I was about 5 seconds slower due to the car being undrivable. Only 50% wear but it's like driving on ice. I don"t remember any other race where it was this bad.

That’s how I’ve always been.

That said, I’ll be trying ALL OF THE CARS at Yamagiwa since it’s my 2nd best track (after Big Willow) and I need to do well after the Gr.1 debacle.

Agreed. It will be interesting to see when everyone races.
Good luck for tonight by the way. I can see you doing a great strategy that nobody else does, giving you the win :)

I tryed but i failed (Start: 2nd / finish: 4th) - Jomas did an exzellent Job with 0 Stop Strategie ^^

Me complaining like a child.

I take this all back. I was just out of practice. Been months since I touched my wheel. Another two test stints and I have my confidence back.

Also, I just realised the race isn't today.

Im basically already out of the running for Ford because I had a spin in the Suzuka race yesterday and I already have activities scheduled Saturday night for the next 2 weeks (like the average working human being :(). So I'll only get the other Wed race next week and that's it.

Unless you're a student, Saturday after 6 is probably one of the least available times ever. Like someone else mentioned earlier I wish the races were staggered more. Every 3 hours over the course of the day, not all grouped together into a tight stack. I would be able to race around noon on a Saturday no issues. 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm would be amazing. It would also help people in different time zones.

My races went well.
Did anyone else heard some kind of strong explosion on Le Mans? (@14:23)

Race 1: Seems like that was one of those rare sound bugs I hear from time to time (where the engine noise just cuts off but the air noise remains)

Race 2: Decided to time my race with yours and you guys were on it. You were doing 2:01s in 5th and I could only managed 2:03s from the lead. Good job 👍

Only saw one Ford in my race (who unfortunately was fulfilling the stereotype in qualifying)

Speaking of stuff, here's my race:

I just checked, there are only about 120 Ford drivers registered in all North America.

I wouldn't have guessed it would have been that low. I'm not one to take one over the other as far as the American manufacturers but GO FORD!!!!!! :)
