anyone else having issues connecting to the servers tonight? I was fine until it started matching for the 9pm slot, then kicked me out and I can't get connected anymore :/ have rebooted my PS4 and router and still stuffed.

Strategy gents?
I don't race much(B rating). Watched the replay. Saw many players split the race with three stops. My first two stops, only saw me rejoin the race behind 3rd place.
First stops, I passed both players in worn Softs. Once I saw noone was doing the same thing, I kept pitting for soft tyres. Second time I retook the lead, one was on hard and the other player on medium. From my third pit stop, is where I started pulling away.

There was no clear strategy for me. I was doing 1:18 laps, until I pitted for the medium tyres. The top five players, were setting 1:19- 1:21 laps on the hard and medium. In my replay, the players in second and fourth, were on Softs for the end. My hard tyres were still fresh. My lead did fall because of the last pit stop, but stayed at 10.5 seconds for those last two laps.

In all, I stopped five times, including my loss of time in the gravel, early in the race.

I skipped that race. Probably would be a punt fest of overaggressive players, having loads of grip.

Was it a rolling start?

First go was a shambles. Second go I started 15th and finished 9th. Three people quit during the race and they were all ahead of me, which says something for my pace in this combo.

I 3-stopped, but there was no way I was going to survive on hards or even mediums for very long, so I had to. I would've loved to have pace in this car at this track, because I did notice that I was much better on fuel than pretty much everyone in the race. I suppose I had fun, in the end.

From p15 to p11, I have to say I had more fun than expected and I didn t put this fast and light thing into a wall, whixh is a plus.
Race partially ruined by being slightly touched on t1 and getting a nonsense 2 secs penalty (neither cars had any kind of consequences) which put me on p18 at the end of lap 1
Ah for the records: 3 stops, s m s h

Inexplicable wheeling is almost always a cone..

Edit: or loss of downforce
It's the kerbs at Sardegna. You have flat kerbs and raised kerbs, hit a raised one in the RB jr (like run wide out of T1 and hit the kerb into T2) and it'll take off

9S/9S/6M/1H in which ever order suits your preference and starting position on the grid. :)

Yep. I started near the back and did that strategy in reverse

Well, that was a **** show - I have a deja vu with a race at Brands Hatch from a few months back when I had the pace to finish in top3 but had incredible bad luck and finished 5 times in P13.

I started the day very optimistic - put a 1.17.2 in timetrial with 17.5 on a regular basis. Then I have a practice lobby with some people waaaay above my level and had a good race, holding my own against them for more than 20 laps. I needed at least 110p to replace my 87 points from Laguna Seca and be 100% sure of the top10 in the Romanian leaderboards(I was 8th before the race with 2 people close behind and one in 15th with just 2 races and 95 points less.

1st slot - put a decent qualy, started P6 on the grid on Mediums. Chaos in T1, got pushed wide then I messed up myself in the next lap. Dead last and a limiting damage race up to P13.

2st slot - good quali, started on Mediums again, got bumped in T1 and lost 6-7 positions and then turned around in T3. Could not concentrate anymore, I spun myself twice and also was sideswiped by a Spaniard in the last lap - no idea why. P16

Took a break from the 3rd slot.

4th slot - completely messed up quali, started 18th on Hards. Got up to 11th after T1, but lost the rear cause of cold tires in the next turn. Head into the wall. Pitted end of lap1 for mediums and the chased the cars ahead. I did a very good race, got up to P10 at the end. If I would not have messed up in lap 1 I would have been 6th.

5th Slot - After the previous race I was pumped. Excellent quali, started pole on softs, no troubles in T1 and started to build a gap. Missed my turning point in last corner end of first lap and put it into the wall. Then did the same in lap2. I had several mistakes after and an awful race. I was 12th in last lap and tried to pass the Italian in 11th on the ascend only to be pushed in the gravel... The cherry on the turd. Ended up P12...

At least I got that top10 position - I think I am 9th but have to check in the morning the final standings. So objective accomplished -but I lost almost 3k DR today.

Will see tomorrow if I race in Catalunia. I would have a run to try and recover some DR, but I can't seem to figure out the last sector of the track...

managed to get into the final time slot after lots of rebooting and resetting of network equipment, not sure it was worth the hassle.

qualified 7th, was door number 7 so fair enough. started OK, got to T1 and everyone seemed to be sensible until one guy appears from nowhere on the radar, smashes into the back of me that's me down to 20th.

try to recover as best I can, made up some places until lap 10 when someone was slow coming out of the banked right hander, take the outside line for the left hand curve ahead and the other car decides to drift wide and send me into the wall. back to last again.

made a few places back, think I was as high as 12th at one point but lost out big time at the end as someone lunged up my inside into the last corner, forced me wide and got me a penalty for it, so ended up 14th i think. sod all points for the Nations Cup, lost a few hundred on my DR.

At least I got to drive that Sardegna track for the first time, quite liked it

Had an absolute blast this evening. SR - S, DR - A :gtpflag:

Only managed to catch 3 Races in the end, Never raced on that track layout before and hadn't touched the RB Juniors in about two years so I wasn't expecting much!

1st Race I started way down in 17th after a poor qualifying. Rose up to 8th to take an achievable Top 10, Used the following Strategy, Lap 5: Softs, Lap 10: Softs, Lap 16 Softs, Fuelled a little 3-4 Laps etc, Lap 21 Mediums + 2 Laps of Fuel & Lap 24 Hards.

2nd Race I started in P5, Finished in P3 & Netted my first podium of the evening which I was very pleased with! I used same strategy as above. But figuring why I couldn't get any more pace had me rethink my next race's strategy. I felt much quicker on the Softs and could make them last longer feeling more comfortable in the car...

3rd Race, Qualified in a nice P3 Spot for the Race, First corner was nice and clean everyone giving each other space, I fell down the pecking to P5 at one point but retook 2nd quite quickly and It was all about chasing the Lead Car. He was very quick throughout and we had a gap of less than 2 Seconds throughout the entire race until end. Was Incredibly close racing.

Strategy that worked for me (Had me wishing I started my evening on was the following): Started on Softs, Lap 9: Softs, Lap 18 Mediums, Lap 24 Hards,
Seems to be the winning formula, However the Lead Car Just managed to have better pace on the Hards at the end than I did and had to accept P2!

That was my first real crack at the Nations Cup doing It properly and I have to say you really need to give everything up to be a Champion at this. Have to commend the top blokes doing It throughout. I steadily Increased my pace throughout the Season (Increased Points/DR to A) and I especially loved Goodwood/Spa/&RB Juniours Just now to finish the Season off. It's back to work for from tomorrow and sadly in my profession within the emergency services means I'll be on Shift work a lot of the time so won't be able to do these as much. But had an amazing time and will certainly do the odd one whenever I can! 👍

Started 4th, finished 3rd on a 9S/6M/1H/9S strategy. Got 194 points, which is only 5 more than my previous 3rd-best points score, which as of right now makes literally no difference in the standings for me. I'm very tempted to go again in spite of the good result since I'm risking basically nothing.

Not gonna bother tonight, I need to put in some practice for Sunday’s Manufacturer race, what’s the going strategy?

Went into this round quietly confident as seem to have decent pace in test lobbies.

Quickly realised that in clean air I had decent pace but in traffic the car gave me no confidence and I struggled big time in the first 2 races when following other cars.

Went into slot 3 planning on doing a 2 stop hoping it would separate me from other cars and give me clean air.

Qualified 5th, started on softs and escaped the midfield melee into turn 1. Pace was poor in the first stint on softs but at least that allowed me to go to lap 11 and I saved decent fuel. Moved onto mediums and took the fuel needed to get to the end.

Since race had spread out by this point I came out in a nice gap with no pressure from behind and next car 3 seconds up the road. Did a 14 lap stint on the mediums with reasonable but consistent pace then changed to hards on lap 24 . Very nearly pipped 4th place but was quite happy with 5th in a race that just didnt seem to suit my driving style

2nd Slot: the stupidity started early with this one; before the race even started, as I forgot to delete the previous race's replay to make room for this one's if I got a good result. Fortunately for me, this race was a total waste anyway. I threw away what should've been pole by taking a little too much on the exit of the final chicane and started 15th. I decided to start on the Hard, then pit and hopefully drop far enough behind the pack to find some clear air. Unfortunately, I managed to get 5s of penalties (1 course cutting in the final chicane again, and a stupid 4s after there was some "miscommunication" between myself and another car in Turn 1), and also spun myself out of Turn 4. Finished 13th. On to the next one.

3rd Slot
Qualified 6th after a slightly sloppy lap, 2nd place took out the polesitter with a lunge into Turn 1, and 4th place got caught up in their mess, putting me up to 3rd after Turn 1 (I'm the green car).

I took 2nd into Turn 1 on Lap 3 after outbraking them on the outside.

After that I slowly pulled away from 3rd place (which was at this point being fought over by 4 cars) while the leader barely pulled away from me. All 3 of us pitted on Lap 9. The leader took another set of softs and decided to fill up as well, I took Mediums and no fuel, and 3rd took Softs and no fuel.

During the first pit cycle we went:
1st-->3rd (due to taking fuel as well)
(Me) 2nd-->1st
3rd-->2nd

2nd place on softs took a few laps before they started to catch me on my Mediums, and even then they barely got into my slipstream by the time I did my 2nd stop on Lap 15. On top of that, he'd also succeeded in holding up 3rd place (who was leading before our first pitstops), and forced them into a mistake.

On my 2nd stop I took new Softs and refueled and returned to the race in 3rd. I passed 2nd again when they pitted a few laps later onto the Mediums, so I had 2nd secured since I had track position in addition to faster tires. The leader went really long on their Softs and pitted on Lap 20 for Mediums, which put them back in 3rd due to too many laps on worn Softs. We all pitted on Lap 24 for 1 lap on Hards, and I took it easy around the lap to win by over 5s - my 2nd win this preseason, and my first FIA win from a grid spot other than Pole Position (not counting the wins I got when I was repairing DR or SR in lower-split races). It was worth 210 so obviously I'm done for the evening. I won't even bother with tomorrow's Manufacturers race, as I hate Catalunya more than any track in the game outside of Willow Springs.

Manufacturers race - Barcelona Catalunya R10 - Hot Lap 1:44.469
Improved my previous time thanks to coaching from @Gyrza360
This is a really difficult track for me but I feel much more confident now. I'm a bit concerned over the tire wear in race, but I have been able to get 5 laps out of the softs so that is the corner stone of my strategy.

For those interested in the last few laps I mentioned earlier... Here they are in full 'glory'! 11th to 4th (yes some pitted) still made me pretty content, even with the last corner.

Really, I should have tried to take the inside down the main straight on the final lap, but I don't think the driver ahead was going to yield - in spite of his error - in any case!

Had a fantastic race final slot. Started on RM because it was obvious in earlier races that the softs were wasted. Started P5 and worked up to P3 by L2. Went to P1 on L10 when people pitted. Only had a 5s lead so stayed on RM for 16 laps to avoid pit traffic. Stayed in P1 until L23 when I binned final turn for the 7th time after building up a comfortable 8s lead. Would have been okay but lost 10s due to engine damage. Finished P2 just 4s off a victory which I should have had by at least 10s. Here, a 2stop would have won easily.

No clue how I got 16 laps on mediums. But a happy 57 pts for the effort.

Anyone get to join? I've been stuck in this screen

There was about a 2 minute matchmaking delay for several streams I saw.

I also got disconnected when trying to enter slot 1 tonight (where only 17 people got matched).

After 4 disconnects this weekend I am not going to waste any more of my time tonight, as multiple people are having the same issues.

Got into a race no problem, full lobby. The race was a little laggy though. Got a 1 second penalty for a mystery collision with an invisible car on the first lap!

Other than that, a really good race. Qualified 10th and was up to 6th by the end of the 2nd lap. Pulled out a decent gap between the chasing cars and came out the pits in 8th. When others pitted, found myself in 4th. Was into 3rd with 2 laps to go but caught by someone on fresher tires. Pleased to end the season on a high! :)

Ok, so I debuted in the FIA races, and I guess the last race of the season was a perfect time for this.

For the first race I qualified 7th and was in the are of P4-P6 for most of the race. My problem was that I absolutely failed at coming up with a decent strategy and made one unnecessary stop. As a result, the last two laps I was dragged to a slightly physical fight among P8-P12, made mistake while I was at it, and ended up being 14th with 41 points.

25 minutes between the end of one slot and the beginning of another were spent trying to think of a nice way to allocate my pitstops. Decided to watch a replay of the race and see how the winner did it. It was

7S
7S
1H
10M

Looked decent to me, so I decided to go for it.

As I finished 14th in the previous race I was dropped into a not slightly lower lobby, as I was racing with number 1 now. Qualification went fine, placing me at P2.
Hectic start, ended up around P5 and went up to P3 after a while. P2 Suddenly left the lobby after a couple of laps, making me chasing P1, who was around 4 seconds ahead of me. Step by step I was catching up on him, shortening the distance to 2.2s. I guess the though of reaching him played a joke on me, as I realised I forgot to change my tires when it was lap 9. At this point I was afraid to mess up my pitstop logic again, so I opted for bearing with my worn softies till the 14th lap. Didn't do me any good, as I began to struggle with some corners. Long story short, after two pitstops I'm 4 seconds behind P1, but as he was on soft vs my mediums and I was a bit careless he ended up with a lead of 11s.

Still happy with the result, and I feel that if I spend more time preparing for the race and getting to know the track on all sets of tires I can definitely aim for more.

If anyone's wondering, the winner started on 4th and used the following tactic:
10H
8M
7S

What surprised me is that most of the time in both races there was so much space. It was very rare to be closer to someone than 2 seconds. Not sure if it's because my pitstops were desynchronised with everyone else or it's just a regular thing for FIA races.

Here is a question - when I go to ranking screen, it says that only my best 3 rounds will be tallied. It is clear from the interface how top-3 results of other drivers are highlighted and summed up. But after this there is a text saying "Only 1/4 of a total Rounds will be tallied". What do they mean by that?

Congratz for the nice result!
What strategy did you use?
