There should be some allowance for DC. But every race I dunno, then again where I’m at I’ve not experienced many dc.
Looks like I will have to drive the Supra more if it’s Sundays...
One thing I really think DR2 got right is the no retry feature...It puts an added element of pressure into it. In a real race there’s no do overs in most cases.

I think PD's still trying to define their niche of arcade sim rather than true racing sim. There's other titles that do that better and better appeal to that audience. The majority of players want a video game rather than a true simulation of what's "real." At least IMO.

Part of me wonders if PD intentionally set the Laguna Seca round up to test what players would do in that situation.

Since I've race to everyone's else misfortunes (due to my sheer lack of skill - I see myself as a DR D for life), I used to maintain a 20-second gap hoping someone get a tire penalty... so I wonder what a 1-minute tire penalty means.

Fortunately I don't do Nations, but the change is still ********. There was no need to change it, and there are less slots on a weekend which is even weirder. Also, nobody cares about the Supra Cup and I'm tired of Toyota having a say on how the game should be. If they really had to change schedules they could've put that with Nations and leave Sunday to Manufacturer since the majority of players compete in this series.

I think the schedule is very much oriented towards younger folks without responsibilities.

No matter what the schedule is it's going to suit some people more than others and that always been the case since FIA started. The move to 4 days suited me less than 2 days tbh but I just played what I could. This move is going to be beneficial for as many people as it is detrimental.

If your time limited then find a solution. The schedule will drop in next few days with relevant tyre and fuel setting so work out what rounds you can do in advance :)

It's kinda right. But it showed something. To be hones most of ppl I met in GTS are having families, job or their own company.

GTS is one of games when the average age is higher than in most of games. Like Fortnite, all FPS, Rocket League ect. So if that's Your main target, you need to aim your game to them. Not to youngsters.

You need to see avr age of players, who join FIA and make it most easy for those average.

So it's kinda stupid move. Same as not giving us updates, and time to discover what it means in game.

It was brought up before how it should be if you crash and driver is killed you should have to restart from square one.
Funniest bit was when someone said hardcore mode wants to know your location!
I for one definitely don’t want a strict sim. Booooring. I want to play racecar driver with cars that drive well and look good and never need to wrench on anything or even wash and wax.
I don’t want to bother with hundreds of sliders trying to get a car to drive well, or race people who live for that stuff.

And that's why, when it works, GTS is the right game for me. I don't drive in the real world, so determining toe-in, gear limits and all the minutae that some people expect of a true sim just don't appeal to me. I leave them alone when playing something like F1 or Dirty Rally. I have neither the time not the inclination to spend hours perfecting that for each car, each track combination. But, at the same time, I don't want to be playing a graphically-updated Ridge Racer. GTS is a good compromise.

Or they could create a zombie racing league mode. You know, for the crossover audience appeal.
You've just given Call of Duty an idea!:D

They run Dailies all day, every day. The simplest solution is run FIA's from midday to midnight on the hour for every region. Only downside is it spreads out the field but you can't have it all ways, for 90% of people I think this would work out ok.
I can only race late on in the evenings and I'd much rather race in a more spread out field than to not race at all. The FIA has been such a wasted opportunity its a real shame.
Good luck to all this season, it's doubtful I'll be attending. The good news is, there are plenty of privately run leagues on GTPlanet to find :).

Oh come on people. Coming on here and saying I cant do this or that at this time because of this and that is just anecdotal evidence....which is the worst kind of evidence!!!
What are you talking about! People know what time they have to be in work, or at school/college/uni, or whatever. They also know how long it takes them to get from those locations to, presumably home for most, to be in a position to play the game. Moving 2-3 or maybe all slots to times when they know they will not be participate is not 'anecdotal evidence' it is a prediction of whether or not the will be able to play the game at those times. And people are saying now, that the changes will affect the number of slots they may be able to participate in, or participate at all. What do you want people to do, say nothing then they see mistakes or something detrimental to GTSport happening!

Most people who work or are in education work a 9-5 day, how is a move to earlier before they may even finish for the day, going to "beneficial for as many people as it is detrimental'! Those who don't work or are in education will probably be in the same situation as before, able to do as many slots as they wish, their participation numbers not changed significantly. These changes probably affect negatively more that it is positive for. Initially it may not be seen, as many are at home on lock down, and numbers are up because of it, but as people slowly go back to work/education, or indeed just able to leave their homes, it will affect more and more.

Anyway just thought I'd play devils advocate for a while....certainly not trying to rile folk up :)
Playing devil's advocate, or being a ****! It's a fine line.

if these are in fact the new slot times then most people with normal jobs will find it difficult to compete i guess so i do wonder what is behind this strategy from PD?
I fear I will miss out on a lot of races, especially as i also have weekend shifts. till now most if the times i could still make the last slot but with the new slot times i wll have no chance whatsoever. :grumpy:

Happy to finally get one of these as my country of residence became eligible for it :P

I don't mind PD playing with the schedule, removing Sunday races helps avoid clashes with actual motorsport when it returns which is a big plus. Making the races earlier on weekdays is not ideal, the later races tend to have cleaner drivers (with daylight saving we had races starting at 11pm UK time at the end of last year which were great).

The other thing to consider is that the world finals will probably all be cancelled this year, I can't see mass gatherings being allowed in many countries for the foreseeable future, they could run those big events from home since NASCAR and IndyCar seem to make it work though. Either way the big prize of the paid holiday will be off the table, hopefully that means people take things less seriously and the driving standards are better.

1st of all why they don't cut time length on Laguna Seca pit entery? Instead of fixing too long pit entrance they extend penalty? It's not fixing the problem.

2nd we still got no info about BoP changes and the new season starts now. Wtf?

3 Time. In my feeling it's ****** that they changed it. It was good but 5 enteries was bit too much. 3 or 4 will do. For ppl that are working and have family in mid Europe it's to early? You don't have time to finish job, eat something, and sit calm to console. You need to speed things up.

Wired.

Last but not least no patch notes. I hate them for it. No communication at all like it was earlier. Since 30 march we got first info now. 4 days before sezon starts. We should have patch last week so we can learn what changed and get bit of a feeling of BoP.

I have bad feelings about it.

We can't be even sure that the patch will be this week. If not we will have silly situation witch BoP changes DURING the season. Thats ridiculous.
Ooo polak rodak;)

Does that mean they only changed the European times? No change in other regions?
Looks that way, and there's some sense to that.

Most of the regions have three or maybe four time zones, and the times allow for people to race in the early ones at one extreme and the late ones at the other (unless they're on lates/nights).

EMEA has 15 time zones, covering 12 full hour time zones and three at half and even quarter hours. I'm not sure how many people in Siberia are playing on EMEA servers, but we're looking at, right now, India at +5.5hr, Saudi and western Russia at +3, Western Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa and +2, and UK and Portugal at +1. Iceland isn't exactly densely populated, but it and much of West Africa are on UTC.

The first race in EMEA at 1400 UTC on a week day is at 1930 in India, and the last race is now 2200 in Iceland, or 2300 in Portugal and the UK.
