Damn, no more Manu for 2 months then I guess. Lots of time for ACC then. Thanks for the info. :)

I'm guessing stage 3 will last July and into August to finish off the summer. Any idea how long between seasons? I started playing in February(4 months ago, damn!) since when I started last year in August only few races I had run and noticed it was mid season didn't understand FIA setup, waited on this new season to start playing the game so I played RDR2 until February, haven't played that game since, LOL!

Any idea what time of day this Saturdays race at Nurburgring 24h will be? Been practicing during night time, really hope it's a night race! May be a little early to talk strategy but definitely need to save some fuel.. I can't even make it around the track for my outlap/flying lap without running out of fuel. Got my fuel savings down to around 2-1/2 laps though after few runs, 2M-1H.

12 Midday Sunshine!

I’m thinking of starting on hards for the next Manufacturers Series round at RBR short, and then seeing where I end up when I pit for fuel. Maybe I’ll just put on another set of hards at that point, who knows?

I did a practice race yesterday. It was an easy 1 stop on softs. With minimal fuel saving you don't have to refuel, either.

We are in the 2nd stage until after Nurburgring this Saturday.. then 3rd stage starts up. Speaking of, wheres the schedule for this? Could have swore I had a schedule with stage 2 track/car combos before stage 1 ever ended.

My first season though so idk maybe they give you the option to start over with new manufacturer after each stage. Maybe Sunday you can pick a new one?
They sent the Stage 2 notice out 11 days before first race. So either they’re giving less notice or there’s gonna be a little break between stages. I’m actually kind of hoping for the latter… could use a bit of a rest!

The 3rd stage starts on the 7th/8th July, so there's no break. I guess they'll announce the races at some point this week.

12 Midday Sunshine!

Thank you!!! I was really hoping to close the stage off with a night race, don't think I've done a night race with FIA.

Just take the week off, that's what I do lol but seriously they need to come on with it already! I like to figure out what track/car combos work for me so I know how hard I need to run the ring this weekend or if I even need to do RBR.

Any track/car combos y'all would like to see? I just want Spa/Gr3 & Dragon Trail Gardens/Gr3... would love another Le Mans race but doubtful. Mount Panorama would also be a hoot after racing in the dailies this week!

I also couldn't do either of last Saturday's rounds - was visiting my younger brother that evening. Likely gonna skip these next two rounds for the Nations Cup, too - I don't feel very confident when I consider entering either of 'em. But I'm gonna see what I can do for these next two rounds of the Manufacturers Series. They seem fun. If I have time to do the round on the 4th of July (Gr.3 @ N24) I'll see if I can no-stop on hards.

I had a practice race in a lobby earlier for nations gr1 at luguna seca, in the porsche hybrid. Really enjoy driving that car it does get a bit sketchy around there on hards though.

Anyway there were a couple in the lobby that were quick ( low 1:08s in qually) and I was really just testing strategy so I paid attention to what they did in the race. Clearly wanted to spend as much time as possible on softs, I think they did maybe 8s-8s-4m-2h or 8-8-5-1.

Not sure a 3 stop is the way to go at my level, due to pit loss time. I'll have another session before the races tomorrow and try work out whether a 2 or 3 stop is faster for me. Pretty sure I can already toss out 1 stopping haha.

I was in the Cayman, and had to shift at around 50-55% of the bar being full to be able to no-stop it on the Softs. Most of my laps were in the 52's, some poking into the 53's at the end, so I'm thinking it's a definite no-stopper here.
My times were probably not too dissimilar to yours, 52s for the first 16 laps then into the 53s and a 54 at the end to scrape over the line. I think time-wise, a stop around L8 for tyres and a splash of fuel could be quicker, but in a race situation it'll most likely put you in traffic. No stop is going to be the way to go

Brands Gr.4
Blue Moon Infield would be nice for once, but my luck they’d do a terrible reverse layout.
Le Mans Gr3 was fun and hope that will come back.

ugh. The Gr.4 Atenza has been improved a bit, but it's these kinds of races that expose it's ever-present weakness.....tires. While some cars will definitely go for the no-stopper, I doubt it's even an option in the Mazda without losing a ridiculous amount of pace. If I run this race I'll likely be trying a 1-stopper, but no matter the strategy I think my chances of a good result are pretty slim.

I’ve been practicing for the Nations tomorrow and my best lap in free practice is 1:09.8, with an optimal of 1.09.3. That’s 2.6 seconds off the top time and I’m 31k DR. I’m not sure where I should be for my level though.

Just did a practice lobby race for the Nations tomorrow, which I’ve not done before and was very helpful. Whilst I doubt I will be able to do a full race without leaving the track a couple of times it was great fun. The Gr1 cars are rocket ships and are a dream to drive when you get it right, and I’m fairly comfortable with the TS050 now.

For strategy I went 9s/10s + fuel/4m/1h, but I’m not sure about doing a 3 stop as the mediums felt good on a low tank of fuel. I guess if I can get 8/9 laps out of the softs (10 was too much) then the mediums should be good for 14/15 laps. No way I’m using the hards for more than 1 lap though.

I’m interested to hear what others are going to do for strategy.

I think the spread from great drivers to mortals will be higher than the 3% or so that I’d expect in a Gr3 race. At least I hope so! I’ve only been good for 1:10s in the Porsche, which served me well at Spa, even if it wasn’t fashionable and “as fast” as the Toyota. But to finish first first you must finish, and that car is comfortable for me! I’m definitely planning to two-stop it, again since I can’t get the ultimate pace out of the softs, so why give up more time in the pits, instead of just optimizing my overall time.

Good thing I switched from the 962C at the last minute.

Edit: Qualified (1:12.307) on the RH, A full three seconds slower than pole(1:09.287) on RS. Starting 18/18. I'll run 1RH/1RM/RS as many times as possible to finish.

Edit2: Well, that worked out.

Spun out in 16th, around Lap 5, due to dirty air. Pit 5x(1RH(top fuel)/1RM(top fuel)/3RS(spin, replaced worn tyres)/3RS(to get out of sequence with those that just pit)/10RS(splash of fuel)/6RS. Was worth the effort running my own race and missing out on being held up and fighting.

GLad I saw the pace of the RH. Knew I had to jump off those quick. RM are useless too. I was pulling on cars with fresh RM, while I was on worn RS. Had a cool last lap place swaps. My last pit stop, I cam out 13th. Moved up one when a car pit. Another player I race in FIA, gave me T1(I had to do it from the outside). Last lap, made up four spots with a nose that nose to tail finish.

I had a decent Nation's race in the 919, although a totally different strategy.

Quallified 3rd and started on softs, once running smoothly found myself in second. Only one person in the race was running sub 1.12s and he blew out in front early.

I could see I had pace over the most of the people behind so I ran 10 laps then pitted for mediums, I was meant to put 4 laps fuel in as I knew from practice this how much I'd be short but forgot. So I ended up running the mediums a few laps less (9 instead of 13) than I would of liked and therefore the hards a few laps more (5 instead of 1).. Majority of my laps were between 1.12 and 1.14 which was enough in my race and that strategy.

So not entirely a disaster, but not good. Started p10. While trying to be steady in the opening lap pass 2 spun cars, then the guy with a penalty stays on the racing line condensing the pack further. Going into the fast left up the hill I brake as everything bunches up, but the car behind stays slightly to the outside. I bounce the sausage trying to give them room. Do a big spin ending with me having to back out of the wall. Dropped from p8 to p18. Then making my way down the corkscrew someone has damage and brakes on the line in the middle of the straight before the sharp left handed. I wasn't ready for that so accidentally punt them and take my earned 4 seconds.

Long race from there. Manage to work my way back to p11, fighting for p10 on lap 6 when the guy it has taken me the last 2 laps to cleanly pass takes my patience as weakness and dives on that same uphill left, bumping me just enough to send me spinning off again. Back to p17.:irked:

Manage to drive clean and steady back to p11 and finish there. Nearly lapped by the leaders who didnt have to deal with all that 🤬. "Winner" got demoted to p12 after getting the 1 minute penalty for tires so I ended up p10. Not terrible, but losing more than 30 seconds to all that garbage means I did throw away a chance at points that would have counted. As it is my current lobbies mean I pretty much have to win to get points.:guilty:

As much as I made mistakes I am still pretty happy with being able to drive back through all that to get back to p10 finish.

Poor guy in the Nissan Longboy got lapped by me by lap 15.

I’m hoping so too as in the practice races I was doing 1:10 - 1:12 depending on tyre wear. I did another race after I posted and struggled with the mediums on a full tank of fuel, so think I may stick with the 3 stop strategy, and use the mediums for 5 of the last 6 laps so it’s nice and light. If I qualify near the back of the grid I’m half tempted to start on the hards to get them out the way with.

I tried a few of the cars to see what I was most comfortable with and I quite liked the Peugeot, but every time I looked behind in chase cam the headlights blinded me which annoyed me. The Porsche seemed good but I wasn’t too keen on the gearing.

The Gr. 1 cars are surprisingly forgiving on the curbs. I've been absolutely clobbering the sausage curb at Turn 6 in the TS050 and it barely affected my exit. Literally any other car would kill you for trying such a thing.
I actually find these cars easier to drive around Laguna Seca than Gr 4 cars.

Glad to be back racing again after another good break. First race back will be the Manufacturers race at RBRshort. The big Corvette seems good around there. Only one stop required but need to take on quite a bit of fuel. I am going to start on the medium compound tires as, it seems in practice races, if you get into a bit of a fight early it wreaks the tires and makes it very hard to drive (especially a big heavy Corvette with a full tank).

Qualifying is a huge bonus at Laguna though. P10 and up start on the straight, so provided you don't bin it you can get a bit of clean room there. Surviving the first lap or 2 will definitely be key. Any further back and go for it to get Hards out of the way. I ran 9S/1H+ fuel/5M/9S. Only needed a touch of fuel to go all the way.

So far, season on GT has been great! To think that there is only two more rounds left of the season already! To be honest, it's kind of exciting because I'm currently 2nd for my area in the UK in both Nations and Manufacturers. Hopefully the season finishes off strong for everyone here! Good luck!

Two more races in this stage, the season goes on to the end of August.
