Btw, you've got to feel for this guy

Honestly that just looks like bad situational awareness so I don't really feel for them.

First incident they turned in far, far too sharp and cut into the front of the other driver's line. Then through the sweeping right hander they pulled in behind @roamingbard13 too early and clipped the rear end. And to top it off they unghosted while going slow in the middle of the track and then through the esses they kept turning into other drivers on the racing line even though they were going far slower.

Pole. But got tangled into the COD on lap 1 as a guy had a “run” and I know I should’ve back out, but didn’t. But luckily everyone else behind had already tangled elsewhere so down to about 6th. And I quickly worked up to 3rd. A spin on my own on the last lap in the first chicane as I was gaining a second a lap on 2nd was a mess. No reset and took about 15 seconds to finally right myself.

Remained in 3rd. It was a messy race so managed to stay there eventhough I finished nearly 30 seconds off the lead. The guy I tangled on lap 1 had stoped at the line to give me runner up. I didn’t care where I finished. Not competing for any rankings, but I want to give a shout-out to username: AlltheBOOST_. A classy guy in a high 80s S SR race.

Seriously: a whole series or season of these RBJr cars... I’m in. They are very fun to race.

Did run another in the Alt, just for fun. Joined @afc5150 and @Jwptexas in their Alts as well... wonder if it was half the field?! Ran a pretty clean 7th, just missed some speed... was starting to tire out. I think I’ve got nearly 1000 miles in over the last two days on the two accounts. Glad I turned my FF down to eliminate The clipping... helped with speed here and my shoulders would be dead otherwise!

NA Slot 2 for me, 214-point lobby together with @Granadier and @Master Weasel. Without a slipstream, only managed a 38.2 in qualifying, which left me P12, 8 tenths off pole and 6 tenths off @Granadier in P2.

I made a good start but unfortunately was a victim of the same guy who killed @Granadier into the first corner. How could a guy in the top 3 affect my first corner when I started P12, you may ask. After hitting @Granadier, the guy slammed on the brakes mid-corner to wait for him, when we were already on full throttle. He didn't ghost in time, and I just tapped him, giving me a 4 second penalty which dropped me to P17. :banghead:

From there, it was an amazing race, extremely fun one. Managed two pass two cars in one corner in the right hander at the end of S2 on lap 2, and another two cars (one of which was @Master Weasel I believe) with a good exit out of the final corner, overtaking both before T1 on lap 3. That plus a couple of other guys with issues, took me to the top 10.

I then made a move on a Canadian who turned in on me on the apex, which almost causes me to lose control, lost 2 places there. Passed him again later but he got me back with the slipstream the following straight.

I almost get two cars in the final corner, finished P9, just 1 tenth behind P8 and 2 tenths behind P7. Without the first lap penalty, P4 was definitely on the cards. So a disappointing result that could have been much better, but a race that was a lot of fun. :)

Why I enjoyed this comeback race despite an undeserved penalty which left me at the back... 2 double overtakes in 2 braking zones, one of the most exciting half laps I've had... :)

Fun combo this week, but getting punted into near last place 3 out of 4 races pisses me off. Qualified from last to about 10th, but never gor a good lap. Did well into the T2 hairpin on the start of every race, but got punted on L2 every race but the last. Last race went well. Steadily moved up, and finally got into 5th. Made a move for 4th on lap 9, and had the inside going into T4, but I blew it. Caught too much curb and got airbourne. Spun out and rejoined in 13th. Managed to get back to 10th for the finish.

FIAGTC 2020-2021 Exhibition Season

Slot 1 - Qualified 2nd, quick reaction to lights out gave me p1 by first corner, binned it to 11th,

worked my way up to 6th and joined @KosmoKazi in a fight for 4th, managed to get by kosmo after dirty air turbulence caught him by suprise, passed the guy but 3rd was way out of reach, pulled a 4 seconds gap quickly, lost motivation and binned it again during the last lap, finished 7th.

Slot 2- This time it was a tough one with SS drivers ,The first lap was messy but i got away cleanly, witnessed 3 people dying at COD lol, managed to get 2nd until i binned it again at COD , finished a close 3rd ,by close i mean this close
Hey @afc5150 ,i think i was one of the guys that forced you to take a weird line , i didn't knew it was you budd ,, the ghosting was on point though

Btw, you've got to feel for this guy

At the end of that clip I think I would have gone bowling.

Slot 1: B lobby - Ranked 19th

Qualifying is difficult as I keep running up on folks when I'm on a good lap. Manage a Q4. Pole was an A+ driver with a reset as well. These resets are silly, there has to be a better way.

Out the gates, no problem but then I managed to murder myself in the COD. But, didn't fall back too far. Finished top 5. 1,000 more DR!

I would have run this all night, but I had other family obligations. So, I was only able to run one more.

2nd to last slot. B Lobby Ranked 18th in this one.

Managed a Q3 by jumping out early and getting in front of everyone during qualifying.

Great start ruined in T1 as I'm forced off and fall back to 15th. Some folks just HAVE to have turn 1. I don't get it. Its 11 laps. Anyway, I weaved my little JR Redbull machine into p6 and had p5/p4 in my sights. They both made a mistake in T1/T2 on lap 8 but one of the two (another A driver) just couldn't be passed! I was so appalled at the arrogance of the "defense", I didn't pull out. T3 was a disaster. So, back to p6 I go. At the end I managed another Top 5 finish and another 1000 DR.

These cars grew on me as I got more used to their quirks. They were pretty easy to catch the rear so it was a fun drive.

Hey guys, you know what we got this week?

Oh, yeah! A race at Laguna Seca! Go down and buy your favorite strain while you toss back some of the finest beers from south of the boarder and chow down on some fish tacos as we are back in action at the action track itself. 2.238 miles of fun.

Wow, that race in first slot was interesting. Got in a lobby with @Razgriz2118, @Winnie847, @Granadier, @CJam, and DNA_Judoka. First time I was in a lobby worth over 200 points as well. So yeah, not only was I in a faster than usual lobby, I also only squeezed in 30 mins. of practice. Not the best combination.

I had door #19 and qualified dead last with a perfect 1:40. As I wasn’t surprised to see, a bunch of incidents occurred during the race which allowed me to climb up as high as 13th. But in the middle of it all, I hit the back of another car in the s-curves, which upset mine and I spun out and fell down to last. No SR down or penalty thankfully though. I gained a couple of positions towards the end and finished in 17th.

Despite being quite out of my league here, I had fun but I’ll be going again, where I’ll hopefully be matched against more people around my level.

One-and-done for me, since even with my lowered DR rating I was placed in a room with A+ drivers for 220 points, which is above my level normally. It was also fun because I got paired with four drivers from here, @Master Weasel , @Granadier , @CJam , and @Winnie847 . Somehow on the first qualifying lap I grabbed P3, but that dropped to P11 at the end.

Miraculously, T1 was a clean affair, and incidents didn't really start happening on the first lap until the 2nd hairpin before the Chicane of Death. Unfortunately, I got a bit distracted by the people ahead dying at the Chicane of Death and, while I didn't hit the wall, I clipped the kerbs at an awkward angle and brushed against the wall, slowing me down, and unfortunately caused a guy behind me to rear-end me. This gave me a 1s penalty, which put me down into 12th after serving it. After some more people dying at various points, it was @CJam and I together. I unfortunately thought we were similarly paced since for quite a few laps we and another person were battling, and @CJam trusted me to lead us to 5th place ahead, but I started dropping off towards the end and eventually made a mistake in the final corner on Lap 9, letting @CJam go, and I didn't catch back up. So yeah, sorry again about that, I was being too competitive :dunce:

I finished in 7th for 164 points, so not a bad point haul for me. If I entered the next race the lobby would probably be just as imbalanced, and a lot of faster people ahead of me in this race died which let me take 7th, so I'm good for this race.

Well that was fun, already mentioned above but was in with @Razgriz2118 @Winnie847 @Granadier and @Master Weasel. As is usual with me I couldn't manage to grab a tow in qualifying and started P11.

Apart from somebody bursting through elbows out on T1 knocking me down a few places the race was very clean and very enjoyable. As @Razgriz2118 mentioned a couple of fast guys managed to destroy themselves which gained us some places early on. I'd practiced quite a lot today so felt confident but got stuck in traffic. Managed to pick off a few people and myself and @Razgriz2118 settled in to 8th and 9th I think it was. Another racer lost the plot and defending the inside on the last corner @Razgriz2118 made a slight a mistake as I was setting myself up for a good run out down the straight. Was slowly catching 5th and grabbed the tow on lap 9 but made a silly mistake and that was that, had to settle with what I had. Ended up P6, think if I'd qualified better I may have grabbed a top 5 but happy with the points and unable to go again.

No problem man, was trying to get you to keep to the racing line so we could catch the guys in front. As my wife says my communication skills need some work:gtpflag:

Once again in Top Split for Slot 2, but a somewhat weaker one with the win being less than 300 points (292). I also saw @Winnie847, @kevinddr, and @Jwptexas in this race, so I knew the competition would be stiff (as if being in Top Split wasn't already an indication). I needed 8th or better to get over 200 points. I qualified 11th and got a slightly better start than 10th to take that spot going into the first chicane. I then lost that spot by almost spinning myself out when I downshifted to 2nd to keep the revs up at the first chicane since we were all going slower than usual due to traffic. I then picked up another spot to go back into 10th after someone ran too wide on the exit of the same chicane. Starting Lap 2, I was going for a move on someone through the right kink before the first chicane, and he tried to turn in after I was already going for the move and forced me over the curb. I nearly wrecked right there, but fortunately I kept it together and didn't lose the spot to the 2 cars directly behind me. By the middle of Lap 3 I was 4th thanks to a ton of penalties and accidents (over half the field had penalties by the end of the race), but that didn't last long as another really fast driver passed me on the same lap. I kept them on their toes for a few laps, but eventually lost the slipstream and settled in 5th. Since I was looking at a potentially big score, I focused more on hitting my marks and gave the first chicane a slightly wider berth than I would if I was trying to run my fastest. At one point I was 4s behind the leader, but somehow that was dropped down to less than 3 starting the final lap. The first 4 were all in the slipstream, and anyone could've won it. I was 2s behind them hoping for some carnage to try and sneak some more positions. 4th place took the CoD too tight on the exit and hit the inside wall, bounced off and spun off the outside wall, handing me 4th place.

This was by far my best points score since PD switched to this points system. I literally gasped when I saw it. I'm definitely done for the night now.

once again it was great racing with all of you. thanks for the mentions, and great job to those of you who got satisfying results. better luck next time to those who didn't.

overall I had a great night. Raced on both accounts and got a win in 2nd split for 220 points and pulled off a P5 in top split for 240 points. I've been keeping anything over 200 this season since the points have been lower and each time slot grows more and more sparse. I wish we had this combo for a Daily Race C, I'd run it all week. Cheers everyone!

They definitely need to bring back the Redbull Jr cars sooner rather than later I had a blast driving that thing.

Definitely an up & down weekend for me, I had the qualifying time and the pace down so I decided to run with top split and disaster struck... was running 3rd at one point in the race until my internet started to cut out, I'm pretty sure i messed up a few people's races when that happened but once I saw my internet going out I pulled the car over and let everyone go by me. Damn shame too cause that would have been my best race by far points wise.

Congratulations to @GTWolverine on finishing really well he had an amazing race and it was good to see @Winnie847 out on the track as well!

@KosmoKazi it's been too long man it was good seeing you and @afc5150 in the lobby as well on the alts

Was funny to see us all blowing out Alt covers in the lobby chat! It was like the "All-Alt" B-Feature for the night!

Me: "Kosmo Alt" JWP: "Hey!" AFC: "Hi... AFC Alt"... I don't know if anyone in that lobby was on a main! But yeah... if you'd slow down a bit I might be matched with you more often! I'm still trying to catch up! I think some of our first races were at Maggiore in March last time this setup was a Daily... see you around.

Yep that's back when I really first started playing in February hasn't been any let up since. I'll be out and about this week at Laggo Maggiore for sure

Well, after the horror show of races last week, this week was a lot better. The races were definitely fun, and luckily I've been able to recover some DR.

Manufacturers, Round 8, Time Slot 1 and 2

Time Slot 1 with @Master Weasel was frustrating after being murdered, but at least I was able to make places up due to people pitting. Time Slot 2 with @CJam went much better (well, for me at least) and was a much funner race that I enjoyed taking part in. I love the flow of the East Inner Loop.
Time stamps:
Race 1 qualifying - 1:07
Race 1 start: 2:09
Dying in Race 1: 3:50
Annoying battle ending in penalties: 5:42
Race 1 end: 7:51
Race 2 qualifying: 8:40
Race 2 start: 10:04
Race 2 jump to Lap 7: 14:11

Nations, Round 8, Time Slot 1

I have to say, the Red Bull Junior is a really fun car to race in. Despite being high-downforce, you can still battle very closely since it's light and low-powered. Participation must've been low for this race since I saw @Winnie847 , @CJam , @Master Weasel , and @Granadier all in this room, the most GTPlanet members I've ever seen together at once in these races. Had I raced smarter (and not gotten a penalty) I probably could've finished better, but I was over-competitive in this race.
Timestamps:
Qualifying: 0:47
Race start: 1:41
The race is short and was pretty fun, so not much else I can split the time codes into.

That Mazda driver that kept bump drafting you in the first race was the same one that took me out at Goodwood. Not sure what their deal is.

i have had some of my best races at Laguna Seca in the series , one win (alt account). third twice, a fifth place and a sixth. Have practiced a lot but feel i am a bit of the pace in the Peugeot. Still eager to race tomorrow, strategy as always is trying to avoid incidents and concentrating on smooth, consistent laps. Hope for a top ten finish. Also made a new livery for the Peugeot:

I'm glad I have a light work day today because I'm going to have to put in some work at Laguna Seca this afternoon. I'm normally pretty quick at this track and I love my Audi R8 but for some reason, I'm not finding any speed or consistency with this combo right now. I know my biggest problem spots, I'm just not sure how to fix them in this car.

Struggling for pace a little on this track in the RCZ but will also give it a go! Haven't been able to improve on a 1:21.3 in free practice yet. Find it quite understeery and its also not the best on curbs. Gets thrown well out of shape far too easily if you touch the sausage curbs. Consistency is going to be the key. Do i feel confident i can do all 25 laps without a mistake?? hmmm!

Have done a few practice races. 2 doing a 1 stop and tried a no stop on mediums to see if its doable avoiding the stupidly long pitstop at Seca.

Hopefully going to ba able to get back on track at Laguna Seca tonight. Not feeling like I have great speed, but I remember needing mainly consistency here. Still mixed on how to run it, but probably eyeing up the 1 stop in the jag. Only really sketchy corner I am dealing with currently is pretty much that left handed heading up the hill. Ran about 15 laps as a warm up idea despite my normal routine of never practicing and felt like I still need to move my brake markers back a little more than normal.

With the tire multiplier so low it should be fairly easy to get enough laps out of the softs to overcome to massive pit loss. I'm aiming for 18-20 in the Audi. We'll see how it goes in my practice race later.

Last time when it was the choice with the cayman and the Vette I cruised a no stop in the Porsche just staying super smooth so it makes me wonder. In manu I got punted twice so it wasn't a worry.
