That penalty system, i wanna punch my ps4 out of the window...
Heheheh

After the nations cup race, my SR dropped to the 80's because I got penalties left and right. I thought I would just do a few sports mode races to fix that. I also thought it was good idea to try the Gr.2 on Monza. This didn't go well. My SR dropped even further, got matched with really low ranked drivers, they spin me in the first corner, my DR dropped by 22k.

I guess I can forget about the top splits in the FIA races now, thanks to the penalty system that messed up my nations cup race.

Anyone had something similar happen to them? Any tips on how to regain DR points efficiently?

Race C should give you 13 SR points if you manage to avoid penalties

had a blast in the kart FIA race tonight , fighting all race with a south african guy , hard and fair!

Last week, I got disconnected from the Nations Cup race. Today, I got disconnected from the Manufacturer's Cup race. Seriously? Seriously? :banghead:

I just got disconnected at the Nurb race also, so frustrating. The networking code when racing is good, but there's a lot of really bad networking bugs that persist and seem to be there from previous GT games.

I had it happened in a really similar way... Well, you'll have to wait for a short daily that you're really good at and keep spamming it. If you win every race it should get you about 1000 dr points per race.

Everyone bar two drivers got discoed.
I only found that out when I checked the standings and saw all the zeros on the drivers that were in that room. Obviously, the one time when I took the time to practice and had found some good pace, this happens.

On record, I started playing GT Sport back in March and I only recall this happening one time.
My POV from the Nations Cup race today.. it was WILD.

Me starting 2nd? That's unpossible!

I'll provide my vantage point shortly but I'll say this. That was far more fun that I thought it would be. The only main issues was that I was not accustomed to the draft at all, so that eventually bit me when I started mowing the lawn. Also, the penalties I don't even understand where I got most of them from although I did struggle with visibility.

Tonight made me remember why I never do Gr. 3 races. They just bring out everyone’s worst tendencies and pretty sure a bunch of players just enter them to ruin everyone else’s race, even in A+ races. I’ve never had a Gr.3 race in this game that was even halfway enjoyable

Yeah, I ended up giving both ORMA and myself a penalty when I went to give him a friendly little bump draft down the front straight. Quite questionable.

Finally got into the last Nurb GP race without a disconnection. Had a terrible qual of 15th due to traffic. Moved up to 5th, stayed there most of the race, mostly clean racing though people were braking too early everywhere. Then this 🤬 in the concept Supra intentionally divebombed me into the sandpit on the second hairpin. Went down to 11th, climbed up to 8th, then hit the 🤬 tires on the chicane. Insult to injury, it gave me a 4 second penalty for that and I dropped to 11th. I don't mind the tires most places, but those chicane tires are a road hazard.

Also, does anyone actually like seeing PENALTY PENALTY PENALTY PENALTY PENALTY PENALTY in front of you the whole race? It's so distracting.

Yeah, me and D1deriw. We both were able to finish the race. I initially got 2.7 points but then the game i think recalculates the distribution of points after people left and it gave me 2.5k.

I'm uploading both the glitch and the race to my channel. Will create a new thread to have more visibility for everyone when its uploaded.

This race was fun! There was a great battle all race P's 5 - 9ish, and that pack often caught the leaders throughout the race. Those suckers are hard to hold on to. My forearms got a nice workout holding the wheel tight.

I saw several GT Planet members in that race. Good stuff.

Yes that karts race was fun. The last time I raced karts at Brands Hatch Indy was a Daily Race and I never got matched with the insanely fast drivers so I got some fairly easy wins there but did not get much experience with running in the draft. That made me pretty unprepared for this race starting in fourth causing me to mess up a few times going into turns while fully in the draft, but at least I finished penalty free and had a fun time doing so against so many top drivers.

Was watching Nik_Makozi's livestream yesterday for the Nations and Manufacturer races, did a great job holding off Japan with the Mercedes-AMG GT GT3 in the Manufacturers. Nations was very interesting, he got off to a good start, and went wide on T3 in the middle of the race (I think), going somewhere to the back of the pack. ~10s to 1st, absolutely no sign of hope, but he kept on racing, and got 1st out of nowhere! Amazing stuff mate! Congrats my fellow countryman!

Here's his livestreams:

Manufacturer Series

Nations Cup

Does anyone know if there's a list of the current BoP settings anywhere? One that lists the car, then the power and weight percentages with BoP enabled

I wonder if I'm in some of his streams somewhere lurking in the midfield

There's a thread somewhere around here. I think it's called BoP Table

I'd be much more upset about my garbage performance this season if I wasn't missing 3 of the preseason races anyway due to the Nurburgring World Tour, my qualifying lap for Manufacturers yesterday literally ended with me in reverse as the McLaren snapped out the final turn haha... All purple sectors... and theeen 11th :P

McLaren GT3 eh? I remember it being a tad sluggish when turning and if you go just a bit over the limit, the car comes back to bite you for pushing it. Otherwise, MR layout would be good for front tire wear, and the turbo is ok with fuel I guess.

@mclarenLB How is the fuel management with the 650s? Can you overtake other cars in the pit with less refuelling time?

The diff on it is absolutely wretched, the tyre wear horrendous, and the fuel ok. It has hella pace though if you harness it properly, which I often can't do

My kart race was lots of fun, not a very strong field because I dropped to A A the race before, but it was a good time

Is it normal that the CSA light is going mad even on the straights or is that a cart thing?
Without CSA, if I didn't have an irontight grip on the wheel, the kart would spin going down the straight. I want to say this was similar to GT6 but was more controllable in comparison.

My experience with the 650S showed it had lots of straight line speed and can attack high speed corners. Low speed corners, it struggles a lot. Fuel is average but powerband is not ideal for fuel saving. Rear tires fall off too quickly which hurts its pace.

I used CSA for the first time today.. it felt dirty but the only way I would have won the race I was in as I was doing constant 47.6's which I could not do in practice without it on :O. CSA gave .5 per lap in the karts in my opinion :O

whew! I've only tried to drive the kart once or twice when I first got the game, and I was terrible at it. Glad to know that somebody who is alien-fast is using an assist to manage. Never tried CSA before but I'll make an exception for the kart. I'm sure I will still suck, but maybe a little less next time!

Honestly I absolutely hate CSA but when the kart is acting so random and the top times are so far ahead and stable thought I'd try it and was amazed lap 2 I went 3 tenths faster than my fastest non CSA lap and I could quite easily see a 46.9 after a bit of practice. A shame it's so powerful in these races, normally I wouldn't even do it as I don't like it but I can only make 3 out of the 8 races this pre-season so had to be done :S

I completely agree. I don't use any assists except with the karts (but I don't care if others use them anytime). These things seem impossible to control without either CSA, TC, or both. Even with the assists on and FFB set to 1, they're still hard to control. I tip my hat to those that don't use assists driving the karts. I think there were a few in our race last night, Snow, Hellzfire, and a couple more.
