Hey McQueen, I'm sorry for the racing on my part. I made a lot of mistakes and I do take the blame.

I thought of giving you the position back after I crashed into you, however I knew that giving you back the position would lose us both time, as my tires were better, so it didn't make much sense to penalise us both other than just take the penalty myself. But it was all on me.

I got really frustrated being stuck behind (and being pushed off track -.-) drivers that didn't change tires and it's shown on my driving, I need to get over it and should've kept it together.

It was a very messy race m8. No problem dude. I also committed some mistakes. Give back the position ain’t a very good option in this game .

Qualified into 14th. I can do better, right? lol nope.
First lap, The Big One happens, and sadly I get slammed and spin out into last place. I feel really bad for the person who slammed me, as they got slammed by someone else and didn't get ghosted in time for me to avoid them. Not their fault. Ok, this is still lap 1, I can try to at least get 18th or something.
Lap 2...3? I get punted at turn 1. CraaaaaAAaaAAaaAAaaaap. Now I have even more ground to make up.
21 lap-story-short, I managed to somehow recover from 20th and finish in 12th place for 600-something points.
I'm not mad; **** happens. It's just up to us to try to get back up and make the best of it.
Also, shoutout to @Winnie847 for the third place finish! Also, hello @Pfei and someone else who goes on here that I saw in the race!
And happy birthday to that one player who told us it was their birthday!

So what cars do people think they will use for the Nations on Wednesday? I had a quick play about yesterday and found that I was hitting mid 1:28's with a few cars (Audi, Porsche, Toyota) so really have no idea what to chose. Looks like a nicely balanced track tbh.

On the manufacturers, I just realised I am completely boned on Gr3. Every track for the Gr3 is a power track this season St Croix, Blue Moon Bay, Tokyo Expressway, Monza and Interlagos. If only I could have changed my car from the Beetle to the VGT GTI

This is going to be a tough season for the little VW Bug. Just going to have to rely on people crashing because no chance to overtake anyone on the straights, except maybe a Subaru

Managed a 1:59.586 on the FIA Practice on Tokyo EOL with my FT-1. Fastest FT-1 time is a 1:58.938.

Simulated the Tokyo race with an RCZ Gr.3 against the AI. Managed a 23:11.8 race time, fastest lap is a 2:02.1xx. Use Map 3 on the infield section is my recommendation here.

Oh and the simulated race with the RCZ is really just a base guide for @Tidgney to help him. RCZ top speed without drafting is 166 MPH, FT-1 is 173 MPH.

P.S. Swallowtail, a Peugeot driver in the Asia region, could assist @Tidgney with his PUG VGT on the Tokyo race to allow Peugeot a boost in points.

Manufacturer Series Final Season Round 4 Summary

Qualifying went really well, started in 4th.

Grid start, and I tried no TC off the line (i.e. using throttle control), and plummeted down to 9th. Then, an Australian in an Alfa Romeo runs too wide, clips the grass, and spun, collecting a Beetle in the process. Then, I ended up doing a move to an Isle of Man WRX driven by a Thai. Claimed 7th, then proceeds to squeeze my nose into the Corvette in 6th.

The Thai attempted to make another move on me, but didn't make it as I shut the door, retained 7th at the end of Lap 2

The Thai ended up made the move on me on Turn 1, but I was able to compromise him into Turn 2, retained 7th at the end of Lap 3, then the Thai serves his penalty before Turn 1 on Lap 4.

Nothing much happened on the Lap 4 itself, aside from hunting down the black and red Corvette, so I retained 7th into the 5th Lap.

I cutted Turn 2 slightly, giving me a penalty (there are other times that I got penalties due to scintillatingly graze the white stuff), then got slapped with another penalty for contact with an Evo, though the Evo is clearly losing traction, judging by his Traction Control kicking in. After that, he was dropped to 10th. I gained 1 position to 6th at the end of this lap.

Into Turn 1 and the Castrol Viper is visible on my rear-view mirror. Then, he outbraked himself into me, then gains a position (though after that, he apologises to me, to which I ended up replying "No problem"). Behind me is an Australian in an Alfa 4C ended up shunting the Thai wide as well. The Viper braked, and so was I, but this causes a concertina effect as I ended up drifting, then said Aussie got spun around because of that, and he ragequits. Lost 1 position to 7th at the end of Lap 6.

Not much happened on Lap 7, other than I'm hunting the Viper down. Retained 7th on this lap.

At the start of Lap 8, I served the penalty before Turn 1. Other than that and hunting the Viper down, I retained 7th at the end of this lap.

3 seconds into Lap 9, I ended up making my move using the slipstream from the Viper, then a few turns later the Viper dove into me again, losing my 6th place on the same lap. Retained 7th after this lap.

Lap 10 and I made the move again into Turn 1. Because of this as approaching into Turn 4, I'm out of range from the Viper's attack. I pitted in at the end of Lap 10, the same lap as the leading NSX. A GT-R, presumably a fellow GTPlanet member in form of his PSN ID UNC_Pubs16, pitted in as well on this lap.

Come on Lap 11 and it's my Out Lap, then loads of people pitted on this Lap. Because of this, I ended up jumping several people as I end my Out Lap due to a Ferrari not pitting in at the end of said lap. Got to 5th thanks to that.

Nothing else happened on Lap 12, so I retained 5th.

Lap 13 and an NSX made a mistake into Turn 2, so I gained a position to 4th, while the NSX lost two positions to 6th.

Nothing happened for myself on Laps 14, 15, and 16. Retained 4th, though the battle for 5th still rages on.

I decided to serve my penalty, seeing as I got a sizeable gap to do it at the end of Lap 17. 4th place retained.

On Lap 18, a change in leaders happened, as the polesitting RC F, who ended up jumping the start, gets back into the lead. Then, a BOSS Mercedes made a mistake exiting Turn 3, closing the gap. But then it widens again as I serve my penalty. 4th place retained.

Nothing happened before I serve the penalty at the end of Lap 19. 4th place kept.

The battle between the Corvette and the NSX died down as the latter overtook the former. Then, said Corvette went erratic, putting him into a battle against the orange Beetle. Said NSX will hunt me on the Final Lap.

Speaking of which, he ended up trying to get me, so my driving gets really defensive, to the point of needlessly weave and block him. Eventually, the NSX won the battle as I serve the last of my penalties on the line. I finished 5th as a result. Winner is the polesitter in an RC F, with another NSX taking 2nd, and the BOSS Mercedes takes 3rd.

It's a great race overall. Hope I could get a Pole-to-Win race at Tokyo Expressway East Outer Loop!​

Thanks for the short mention man , I got run into and off the road at the end hairpin by the WRX. Was making good progress from last as I didn’t have pace for quali, still new to the Blue Moon infield, but 4 or so laps in got wrekt so was very disappointed. Had words with the Thai guy afterwards and it was a mistake but it completely ruined my race, was hopeful for a heap of made positions.

Here's my Manufacturer race from yesterday:

Had a great battle with the Aussie in front despite only scoring second, I'm happy with that race since it was perfect and I don't think I could've done any better. I could've drove a bit more conservatively and not get those penalties, but now that I look at it I'd rather have penalties for overdriving than have regrets that I didn't do my best

Nations Cup:

This one was really fun! Qualified second once more. I've battled this guy many times now, so I know just how capable of a driver he is. Keeping up with him is a really big challenge, since the aero wake of these Gr. 1 machines is incredible.

Again, like the Manu Cup, I was really overdriving the car, slowly racking up my penalties. And then an opportunity presents itself: he has made a mistake. I am quick to take that opportunity and pass him as soon as I can. Immediately my aero wake affected him, running wide at T3. "Should I keep him in my aero wake and disturb him, or should I go even faster than what I'm capable of to give myself time to serve the penalty?", I asked myself as the seconds go by. "That's a no brainer. Go faster."

The gap is increasing... 1 second, 2 seconds... but my penalties are as well. This is hard, I probably can't do it. As the final laps rolled in, he started catching up to me. I can't do it, he's faster than me. I already knew this- he kept outqualifying me before, why did I think I had a chance?

It was the final lap, I've given up. He deserves the win, he fought for it hard. But then as I look to the gaps, I realized that I wasn't the only one pushing beyond my limits.
2 seconds, 5 seconds, 6 seconds, 9 seconds...
I couldn't believe my eyes.
"Did, did I just win?"

Oof. That's why you are on the back. And the Thai guy wasn't that Imprezzed with you. Meanwhile on Lap 1, I made an insane move by slotting inbetween an RC F and said Thai guy in the WRX. Noticed how I type impressed to really drive the WRX point home.

Yo guys i am really thinking of doing some FIA races because the A+ player pool just to low on the weekly's right now.

I have only done 1 manufacturer race a long time ago. Can you guys give me some quick tips or do's and dont's. Like what are the most popular time slots (EU)? I see a round takes 3/4 days now, does that mean its only 1 race in those days or do we get to do 1 every day ?

Time Slots: Try to choose one with a pretty decent Strength of Field (for an A/S driver like myself, it should be drivers with ≥90 SR and around 40k-49k DR).

Race Schedule: FIA races are held on every Wednesdays and Saturdays. Asia region (Me, @Sidawg2 and @Alpha Cipher are driver examples) races first, followed by EMEA (You, @TRL LIGHTNING and @Tidgney for example), and lastly Americas (@perrolocomcquee , @hellZfirE and @OutlawQuadrnt are examples). You can only do one race per round, even disconnects and blue screens can cost you a round in extreme cases.

I felt like I had less grip in the actual race. I felt like I had to slow down a lot more to complete the 2nd to last turn (leaving the infield).

Here's Nik's stream of the Nations and Manufacturer races. Nations didn't look like it went so well, Tomahawk just doesn't have the raw pace at Interlagos despite being able to race all the way without stopping. Manufacturer's was a whole different story though, a great start from 10th to make up a couple of places, some nice battles in the first half, but a bit of a lonely race in 5th after the pitstop (AMG's fuel consumption still doesn't seem to be equal to it's Gr.3 peers yet, needs further balancing). Enjoy!

It’s all about fuel management. Merc is one of the best brands now. Both cars received a buff. Everyone is trying to do fast pace and fuel management for FIA, otherwise you have no chances.

So I made a comment on here that was modified for “naming and shaming” but all I did was reply to FT_McQueen’s video pointing out that he caught a glimpse of me getting divebombed by a guy from a certain racing team....didn’t even say his actual name. Is that really naming and shaming, just stating a fact that I got divebombed by a guy who clearly did?

A couple people commented back saying it’s well known that this particular racing team uses tactics like this. So why can’t we talk about this?

I’ve been in a bunch of races with these guys and have seen them cause a lot of carnage. Even if we don’t specifically name them we still can’t reference it in discussion? Nonsense censorship BS going on here. These guys have no class and they are being protected even though nobody is naming them directly. I’ve seen the so-called leader of that team belittle somebody in a lobby for being a noob and using auto-transmission while at the same time uses ASM and CSA himself in his top 10 time trials. Nothing but bad vibes and poor racecraft that I’ve seen, but let’s go ahead and protect their integrity. SMH.

That’s exactly why I didn’t say his psn name, but I did list the team he’s on in quotations. The two people who commented as a follow up didn’t list psn’s either they just agreed. Next time I’ll try a screenshot.

I did my first one on Saturday mate, it looked like half of the top guys in EMEA did slot 1 of the Nation's Cup and the other half did slot 2 (the one I joined!). I finished 14th, but it was the most fun I've had in ages! You can't afford any mistakes and I made one small error running a little wide to give up about three places. It's tense for sure, I just wish the race was 50% longer to make it a real spectacle!

Their team name is 3 letters, like most others. Sure, a google search will yield results, LOTS of them. But by saying that a guy from a certain team divebombed me, how is that shaming? If I did a google search for my own name and somebody had said that I divebombed them, and I actually did, what is the problem there? Especially if there's video evidence. Now, if I had said "so and so" is a dirty driver or they suck or some other kind of opinionated personal attack, I'd concede your point. But to say that a driver from a certain team divebombed me is neither false nor shaming in my opinion, it's the truth. I mean, you'll always be right and the final word here because you're the mod and I'm just a lowly pleb, but still man, gimmie a break....this is a forum about video games.

Also, you should be careful not to name and shame Spankbank racing team, whoever they are 🤬

Still, how'd you explain the fact that the SLS Gr.4 wastes more than the Honda NSX Gr.4 by a country mile even when you short shift? Not to mention its' very bad tyre wear.

Ok, rewatching the replay makes me guess that Nik didn't get enough slipstream to do some proper fuel saving, he was pushing all the time to catch the leading group in the first stint, thus using up more fuel.

You're naming the entire team. Now they've been named as sheltering a dirty driver on the largest Gran Turismo - the largest racing game - website. It may just be three letters, but we're a major part of the Gran Turismo/racing game community and we all recognise what those three letters mean.

And Google has indexed it. Search for the team name on Google - even if it's just three letters - and up pops your post saying one of their drivers is dirty, and probably ranked quite high, because we have a lot of site traffic. That doesn't go away.

It's exactly the same as naming a driver. So don't do it.

To prove the point, I did just search for "rammed Spankbank" and I kinda wish I hadn't. But in about an hour my post will be in there. Underneath all the porn.

I didn't say that particular driver was "dirty." Again, I said he divebombed me, which is different than saying he's dirty or making a personal attack on his driving or racecraft overall.

It is NOT exactly the same as naming a driver. Exactly means something different than what you're using it for right here.

So I posted it that way because I wasn't sure what the rules were. I knew there was no "naming and shaming" but it's debatable whether or not I've done that by simply stating I got divebombed by a person from a certain team.

I did a google search. How many pages deep do I have to go to find something like what you're talking about? I went to page 10 then stopped. I even did another search and added "racing" after the 3 letters and still....nothing.

Also, if this team has become a problem, and other people here are supporting that claim, how are we supposed to talk about it? Not at all? Is this something that just has to be ignored and not discussed on the most popular sim racing forum that exists?

Hopefully this isn't the part where I get the ban-hammer for disagreeing with a mod.

Besides, here were use sometimes also uncautiously douptfull terminologies like "he ramed me from behind" or "I was very close behind him and suddenly it happend, and I couldn't do anything about it"
