I had a very good race yesterday at manufacturers. Started or, somehow avoided carnage at T1, p3 then went wide. I closed the 3s gap to p2 when his tires worn out before the pit stop.
Came out of pitlane with a gap below 1s and pressured him for a couple of laps before he made an error on the penultimate lap and I passed him.
Finished second!

Monza race is still processing but frankly, I'm not waiting for that to finish before going to bed. Instead, enjoy a much better battle for the lead at Fuji.

Edit: Monza... bleh!

Confessing my sins now: I rage quit yesterday. Was trying to get the two races in after a long difficult work day, and just didn't start out with a good mindset. I started toward the rear at Monza bc of the Mazda's lack of pace. Made the decision to no-stop it, and had gained up to 7th, until a Brazilian driver caught me in one of the two right handers after the 2nd chicane, and edged me off track immediately with the utmost amount of class. Wound up finishing where I started. I knew that I was sitting a little high in the order with older tires, and would've left room to the pitted cars and just tried to maximize the positions gained, but I never got that chance.

Nations had a glitchy start and I was mid pack with only me and one other driver around bc of the lead pack being so far ahead via the glitch. Again, driver chose to try and push me off in tight corners as opposed to using pace and overtaking. At that point from my frustration I chose to race hard back, picked up a penalty, then got pushed off again by another driver immediately while I was trying to recover after the penalty. Wound up just quitting from frustration.

I feel bad for returning aggression in the Nations race, but it's really disappointing the decisions drivers are making, even in top split rooms. Maybe I'm just naive or too much an idealist, but one of the big no-no's covered in the GT sportsmanship vids is edging other cars offtrack or off line, and I see it happen over and over again with no consequence by the game's penalty system. I've been trying hard just to keep up in the top rooms for the sake of learning and getting faster, but I might just be ready to take a break. I've been working on a beginner PC rig to add a wheel to, and iRacing is calling my name. I've only tinkered with a few races, but I'm seeing safer things happen at the Rookie level there than I'm seeing right now at the top ranks of GT.

I was in your race yesterday at Monza. Felt bad when I noticed you in the Mazda as I can imagine it's not the best car on that track. Hopefully your next race goes better!

What's the deal with having more than one GT Sport account? Noticed a few drivers with new names. Can you now race in FIA test seasons with 2 accounts or can you race on one account in daily races, the other account for FIA? How does it work?

The only useful purpose is to allow you to race on a different server (say that your main account races in Asia, but you wanted to race in Europe, so you make an account where the country is part of that region, but make sure your PS4 has a PS+ Subscription activated.) Other than that, it can also be used to signify a team change (ex: @hellZfirE, old PSN: FT_hellZfireJP, new PSN: CAR_Hellzfire. Reason: left Flatout Threat for ESPORTS+CARS).

So, would having one account for Sport Mode and one account for FIA races (in the same region) be acceptable?

Thanks to daylight savings time ending in the States, the last slot is now one hour earlier. This is a huge problem for people living on the West Coast and needs to be corrected. 6 pm local time is too early.
It's 5pm for the first UK race now that we're on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time/daylight savings), so even worse for most people here.

Decreasing the slots from 5 to 3-4, making races at least 40mins and pushing the time slots to 19-24 for all time zones would work much better for most people. (this way ppl that work 2nd or 3rd shift would get a chance in participating as well).
I agree in principle as I can normally only be free for 2 slots in the GMT period and 3 in the BST (British Summer Time) period. But you'll never please everybody unless there were slots every hour of the day, and the servers probably couldn't cope.

Couldn't let the guys in Monaco have all the fun. Therefore, I hosted a room yesterday and replicated the same combos.

...kinda. I wasn't doing an hour of Nurb 24 by myself!

FIA 2018 Exhibition Series Nations Cup S3 R6: S-FR Cup at Brands Hatch Indy
Car Used: Read the title please.

Qualified 13th, Finished 13th. My race lap time was actually faster than my qualy time, which means that I should've got a better qualifying time than I had (55.975 qualy VS 55.853 race). I was pushing hard to catch marve92sunlous and @speedychicken to get out of 13th, and I pushed so bad that it killed my front tyres, so as I finally went into 12th after Mr. Chicken went off, I was defenseless against a fast approaching evlcut going into the final lap, and that's my race! Got 761 points due to A/S drivers outnumbering A+/S drivers in my lobby. And what could've been Napolitan2's victory ends up seeing him in 4th, behind bigwigbossman (remember him back in the 2018 Online Series Final Season Nations R2 when there's also a moment where @Double H's victory was stolen by a Korean thanks to 8 seconds worth of unserved penalties?), Bspec-_-Bob, and race winner (and compatriot) mfrayyan.

EDIT: Sorry for the wrong round...

Loving the penalty system, I messed up the pitstop in the Manufactures Cup and didn't change tires! 5 laps to go, I knew from racing my brother on the weekend past I could get 10 laps out of the Hard before it they became uncontrollable. Started at 12th place and had a great run, getting up to 3rd place before the pitstop. Gave up 4th and 5th position in attempt to have an open space beside the AMG on the last 2 laps. Happy with the finish, disappointed for the stupid mistake.

Hard to beat the S-FR Concept in the Nations Cup, started 8th and dropped a few posistions, unsure of where to make passes other than last corner. Shoutout to woodtoy for a battle to the line!

Started 11th at Brands, finished 10th. I pitted on lap 10 from 10th, I wouldn't have been able to hold the position if I hadn't. Horrible little car/track combo, and I'm gutted I'm going to miss Saturday's race.

Sadly the Pikachu livery didn't bring me any luck in the Manufacturers race tonight. Punted on turn 2, so dropped from 9th down to 15th. Work my way back up to 8th and get hit overtaking a guy when he loses control. Then pick up a penalty avoiding someone, hit another person when he brakes really early for a corner(4 sec penalty) and then get strong-armed by a couple of guys who think passing people involves hitting them. Not the greatest race for me :)
Full Race

12th to 5th in 2 corners (with a couple of gentle rubs)

Not sure if I will bother with the Nations as it looks boring as sin.

I love Brands Hatch Indy but 'racing' an S-FR around there is like watching treacle run off a spoon!

I qualified 5th, after my fastest (and final) qually lap was spoilt by a bump from the eventual race winner. But I was routinely passed by 5 cars during the race, not helped by my G25 having one of it's accelerator pedal off-days, where I don't quite get full throttle unless I jab the pedal down. If I don't, the Traction Control light flickers and I lose time. The problem seems to occur after some updates but not others as if some updates interfere with the pedal's calibration. I never seem to get the same problem in other driving games.

All-in-all a very dull experience, not helped by getting orange SRs whenever another car merely rubs against mine as it's passing. Very hard to get a clean race when that is happening.

Does anyone know where we could report bugs to PD?
I'm getting a pattern of disconnects at the very end of a race. My internet connection is fine, i've monitored it.
This is ridiculous.

I don't understand why you have to slow down at a specific point with let's say a 0.4sec penalty. Can we just have those 'sectors' for over 2/3 second penalties? Seems totally unnecessary.

Well, I managed to get a Clean Race bonus in my Nations race...

Manufacturer's race:

Another car and track combo which doesn't work well for me. I enjoy racing the Beetle and can throw it around most tracks pretty efficiently, and Red Bull Ring is good for me too, but tonight I struggled to keep it on the black stuff at both fast and slow corners. I qualified only 14th and was up to 8th after the pitstop, but came upon 2 cars squabbling for position up to corner 1. They both messed up, side by side, and went wide. I was easily past the first of them but the second was about 3 car widths off track, with a 3 second penalty. He still decided to fly back on and proceed to keep nudging me in the side, presumably hoping I'd either slow or get a penalty myself. Neither happened but it cost me time.

I then had a car dive up the inside of the 2nd right-hander (on the climb) and be virtually 100% off the track, still trying to force past. But it was me who ended up with a 3 second penalty! In the real world, I'd expect the stewards to take the side of the car obeying the track limits fully. I stuck to my line, so I wasn't trying to push him further off. Serving that penalty allowed another car to pass, though thankfully not the one who'd given me the penalty.

Finished in 10th having not quite managed to keep the only other Beetle behind me after he'd served a 0.8s penalty for going completely off line on both sides of the track and then serving the penalty without going off the racing line in front of me forcing me to swerve round in case he de-ghosted as I passed him. Probably made the difference between 10th and 9th.

Not sorry to put today's races behind me.

Nearly perfect nation race for me, I was first on track in quali and got 4th with 4mn to go, pitted and got 2th on last lap. Lobby was quite weak with a A+ driver, a S driver (me but truly A) and rest was split in half with A and B.

Start went good as first guy was pushing, I dropped back a bit to .6 sec and had to defend from 3rd, I then decided to get it going. I caught up the leader, pressured him and he went wide, I overtook him but felt pressure a bit so my pace dropped and I had to defend. Following that, I focused back on my pace and start pushing. 2nd couldnt follow and 2 lap later he had a fight for 2nd with 3rd and 4th which definitely settled my victory and 1125 pts.

On Manu I couldnt get going despite training before. Qualification was tense and by the end of it, I cross the line with 10 sec left and no time set. Managed 4th anyway in a much more well rounded lobby filled with A and S players. I was still unsure on strategy but decide to go for hard for 7-8 laps then medium. Best strat would have definitely been medium medium but oh well. I didnt drive the viper much lately so I struggled a bit with it.

It went pretty well at first, by then end of lap seven I was first with 6 sec ahead and was aiming for 2nd. Sadly missing a braking point made me loose 4 sec. By the time I switched to medium I was 11 sec behind, 4th and had no shot at victory. Tried to catch up 3rd but a few corners where I attacked too much made me loose any chance I had. Finished 4th for 1325 pts (I think).

Hey that S-FR race was edge of your seat excitement compared to that time in one of the test seasons there was a BMW i3 one-make at Brands Indy.

Seriously though, I enjoyed it, especially the second half when the tires get worn. If I didn’t make a stupid mistake on lap 2 I would’ve stayed in the pack and not have had to drive on my own for 90% of the race. Brands Indy is just a terrible track for racing in anything bigger than a Kart.

Just would like to see more N class one make races where “real” cars are used (aka not the SFR or XBow). Since anytime it’s not one make it’s basically a one make race of either or both of those two. There’s so many fun road cars that never get used in the FIA races since they’re uncompetitive with the BOP on.

I'm in NAC #9 Porsche, guy hit's me after first curve, he is in Petronas AMG, and surprise surprise I got 2sec penalty... Isn't that fun? ...this is what I was afraid with new penalty system, don't get me wrong, I like it a lot, but people that are not guilty will be punished, worse of all, it is in FIA race... so yeah...

The problem isn't with the new penalty zones, which were recently added, it is with the actual penalty system, which hasn't been changed in a while, hardly new

Manufacturers was terrible for me this time. Had a decent quali and started 6th. I was able to overtake one car for 5th but then spun on turn 3. I didn’t have the time to practice much for this race so that’s probably the reason. Ended up 18th and got PIT maneuvered by the 19th guy the following lap… After this I was dead last, with a 12s gap, ruined tires and an unspeakable amount of rage. I almost quit at this point but decided to go on. Switched to hard tires as I wouldn’t have made 7 laps on Mediums and tried to put in some quick laps. Ended up 14th as a couple of guys in front made mistakes during the last lap due to worn tires.

Nations was far better. Qualified on pole, had a good start and noticed the guys behind me were fighting hard in Paddock Hill and Druids. I decided to push hard and do an Igor Fraga: check out at the front whilst the others are busy fighting. That went very well and I very soon had a sizeable gap of 5s. After that it was just cruising to the finish. I won by 12s, had the fastest lap and a clean race. That’s what I like! :)
