It's easily comprehensive that Top Drivers are mostly avoiding Ferrari. It has some raw pace in both classes, not the best of the MR in Gr.3 (Audi & Porsche, I'm looking at you), neither the worst and surely a good car in Gr.4. Now it's where it gets tricky.
In Gr.3, the window to extract the full potential of it is very narrow and you can easily get out of this window (like Pirelli tyres in F1). Moreover, despite having a very good front end, the rear end tends to oversteer/go sideways at any occasion possible. Combine both and you have 2 sides of driving within one car. Add on that one of the worst tyre wear in Gr.3 on the rear, you need to change your brake bias to the front, on purpose, to have an early tyre wear to make it equal with the rear and keeping it somewhat driveable. What kills it completly? The tyre wear multipliers. On low tyre wear multiplier, it can survive and provide good results. With the actual x15 or x20, you're losing pace before everyone and your last sector in quali laps gets already slower than the others. Needless to say that the results with this car are heavily depending of the tracks and their philosophy. That's my conclusion of this car after 2 seasons, one Top 16 on Bathurst and still managing a few podiums in Top Split in EMEA.
For the Gr.4, I hated it at first and then I learnt it. It is what the GT3 counterpart isn't. Decent on tyres, decent to drive (a bit understeery), allows bold strategies and maybe lacking a bit of power but that's fine. It's clearly where Ferrari can score points, in Gr.4 races but against some Toyota 86, Alfa and Cayman it's still possible to score a podium.
Now, I'm going with Dodge, after those 2 seasons with Ferrari. I've learned a lot with those cars, but I wanted something where I don't need to be on the edge of spinning every corners to make a miracle happening in the race.
Probably only the really brave and confident ones with Balls bigger than a Chernobylian Watermelon should put a toe in this Widow Maker, but the Fame and Respect you get for competing in her makes up for all the grey Hair she might cost you
