Took victory in second timeslot for Alfa Romeo for 2258 points. First top split FIA win and biggest ever points haul, so pretty happy after a disappointing first race.

Tokyo Expressway at night should be great for photos at least, really not sure what to expect from the race itself.

To think that I qualified 5th in the final slot of the night. Dropped to 9th because, you guessed it, tire wear.

All I can say is that for any of my Pug bros that chose the VGT Group 3, get ready for Wednesday. Far and away the best chance for points.

In my B/S room, I qualified 2 with a great strategy in the Peugeot. Finished, yep...13th. Unbelievable how bad the wear is. I could have raced twice more but after that emotional let down, I was to upset to race again. I’ll make it up Wednesday. X19 tire wear is sorta ridiculous. I hate to complain but why not alter fuel consumption in stead? Force people to manipulate their fuel map. That seems more of a balanced challenge.

After taking a week off of racing, I returned yesterday to somewhat decent results.

For Nations, my first attempt was in the top split lobby where I finished 10th for 1200 points. Didn't have the best qualifying, didn't have the best race either, but capitalized on other people's misfortunes.

By some miracle, I ended up in the 2nd split lobby for my second attempt, so I knew I had potential for podium. Points were not the highest due to people sitting this race out, but almost 1900 for the winner isn't bad. I qualified well on my banker which got me pole temporarily, but I couldn't improve my flyer even though I used a whole load of boost on an empty tank...which started me in P3 or P4. The race wasn't very eventful except for the first and last laps where 1) everybody wrecked, and 2) I closed a 5s gap to the leader and nearly caught him on the last lap, but in hindsight I saved too much fuel early in the race. Ended up finishing P2 about 1s behind him for 1759pts, which is my 2nd best points haul of the 2019 season. No replay to share, but I did share it in game...it just wasn't exciting enough for a YT upload. This result puts me 42nd in the region and 32nd in the U.S. with the current standings.

MFG wasn't a very good result, P10 for 1154pts, but it was a pretty exciting race here and there, so here's the replay! This is my first season with BMW, and this was my first ever race using the Gr.4 M4. Qualifying wasn't terrible, but could have been a few tenths better. I definitely don't belong in top split with this combo. Made some big mistakes on the first lap like I often do, got overtaken almost immediately but had some good, clean battling after that. Watching the replay, there are several spots where I should've zigged instead of zagged and perhaps was a little too conservative. Aside from my mistakes, I made a couple real nice overtakes and showed some pretty decent defensive driving when it counted. Nevertheless, I still lost several positions due to my poor tire and fuel management, which I still haven't gotten the hang of since switching to no TCS and MT. Oh well, it was a lot of fun and I think I learned that overtaking between Westfield and Sheene Curve is my favorite thing to do on this track, because nobody wants to be on the outside through Sheene, just too risky.

For Lap time between 2:05 and 2:08 and a total race time19:19 for me
Need to short shift 1/3 of the RPM bar for low gas consumption level at 1.
Saving tires for a 1 stop racing medium4 laps / 5 laps .

Boring pace , can be fun in the middle of a pack at same pace , i don't think i'll do it.

PD should really implement ghosting in qualifying. Stuff like this happens all the time even in S-ranked lobbies.

I actually like having other cars on the track when qualifying. It's more like real life and negotiating traffic is part of it. What would be good to see is penalties given for ignoring blue flags. This would be difficult to implement but if it could be done then any penalties given in qualifying should carry into the race, or any penalty time is taken off your best qualifying time. That would make sure everyone kept it clean!

I'm in two minds about qualifying, it can be exciting and add to the game, it can also be a stressful waste of time..I would be ok with qualifying being scrapped and just use TT times as in the dailies, it would save people who have a bad qually from being out of position, and cause less problems in the early laps of the race, given the choice of qually or a longer race I'd take the longer race.

The GT-R stood no chance at Brands. I was very happy to get it into the 29s, but the whole lobby was split by 1 second. 1:29.8 put me at 17th, the next 2 tenths was almost 10 positions. The car is heavy and slow at brands, with poor tire-wear and heavy fuel usage so I was at at disadvantage for the rest of the race.

Here's the 1st race I did, more exciting than my 2nd attempt but ultimately the points are nothing either way.

When you join any FIA race, you are matched first by SR and then by DR. So the top split lobby would consist of the 20 players with an SR of 91-99 and the highest DR available. When the track first loads, you are listed in order of your DR. So the guys listed at the top of the top split lobby will have 75k DR, and the people below will have less. The next lobby down the DR ranking will be the 2nd split lobby.

Lobbies that are made up of players with SR below 91 can't really be considered top split, 2nd split, or anything really. The points available drops dramatically when your SR drops below 91, so you may as well not even compete unless it's for practice and to increase SR for the next race. Most of us just know which lobby we're in based on the players you see. If you join a race and it's full of A+ drivers and you see the fastest guys in your region at the top, like Nico, Hellzfire, Mcqueen etc. for your region, you know you're in the top split.

To get the best matchmaking, always keep your SR high and you'll avoid getting matched with players below your DR level. The matchmaking in FIA races is what makes them both more challenging and more fun.

In my region, the top split lobby usually consists of all A+ players if it's a popular combo. The 2nd split lobby is usually half A+ and half A, 3rd split is all A. If your SR is low, there will be all kinds of different DR levels in there but you’ll encounter far fewer A and A+ drivers below 91 SR.

From your list of manufacturers, I would say Citreon. Both group cars can score some points and that seems to be the weakest Manufacturer in EMEA. Ferrari is only an option if you can handle the Gr3 car's tire wear.

I'm not sure if @OutlawQuadrnt is maintaining the spreadsheet now that the "lurking" period is over, but there is some good news for Ferrari (and bad news for me ) in CSA region.

After a lacklustre start, PHY-Ariel and ORMA_Soma have bagged some decent points and are now 1st and 2nd for Ferrari. Both are high-A drivers. I doubt at this point that any A+ drivers will show up this late in the season, though.

I had to miss Brands Hatch due to personal commitments, but will be back on track fighting in Tokyo (despite my viewpoint still being that the track is unfit for competitive eSports).

half the tracks on the f1 calendar aren't suitable for proper f1 competition so don't expect that to change anything happy racing

If you're correct (and I don't say you're not), I completely misunderstood Winnie's earlier explanation. My understanding would be that B/S will be about 20th split or most probably 30th split as there's plenty of A+ and A drivers with S rating ahead of B/S.

This was a good race, I finished 5th after starting 15th may of had 4th if I didn't run out of fuel on that last stint trying to push more to catch you.

I actually like having other cars on the track when qualifying. It's more like real life and negotiating traffic is part of it. What would be good to see is penalties given for ignoring blue flags. This would be difficult to implement but if it could be done then any penalties given in qualifying should carry into the race, or any penalty time is taken off your best qualifying time. That would make sure everyone kept it clean!

At one point the did have penalties for passing under yellow flags so I am certain they can implement it for blue flags during qualifying, it would be better to just have the penalty add onto their qualifying lap instead of being brought into the race as that first lap could end up deadly with people serving penalties at the first zone

Not at this time. I figured since you can pull up standings for one's region on the website and what happens in other regions isn't relevant, there's no real need. I could build something if there's enough demand.

I have been meaning to update the drivers tab by looking at standings per region and take top 3~5 drivers per Manu. Standings, I update the moment all 5 regions are updated. Usually, that's 3 hours after the last NA Manu slot.
