Did just the one Nations Cup race last night, I started 5th, passed a guy who forgot to hold the brakes at the start, escaped the T1 crapstorm and then toured around for the following 12 minutes to bring it home in 4th.

My last race in the Manufacturers Series (can't drive Saturday)
I had high hopes, but something I have not experienced occurred. I draw a 0.5s track limit penalty on my last qualifying lap and when you do that you have no way of scrubbing it (dont think you can scrub by slowing any longer). I simply had to drive over the line with it and then it converted to a full second ...:banghead:
So my grid spot went from 6 to 8 (It could have been worse, I know)
So anyway, I started from 8th and had a pretty decent race into 6th place with 4 on the door so I got some points. Enjoy the race.. (for some reason my mike sound did not come through again)
(I have such a problem with the pace trough the high speed turn after the first down hill... just don't know what it is.)

Manufacturers
After practising for Lago Maggiore East discovered that it was nowhere near as bad for Mercedes as I thought. The practice lobbies did show that overtaking would be a challenge so qualifying well was really important.
Was delighted with qualifying 4th. Oversteered out of T2 and lost a position that I got back again at T5. Fairly non-descript race after that but had a Frenchman in a Megane constantly in my slipstream. He was patient and made a move on the penultimate lap when my tyres were going off. We then both caught 2nd/3rd, with him driving brilliantly to take 2nd at the last corner. I finished in 5th less than a second from P2 for my second highest score of the season.

Up to 224th but somehow the points gap to the top 200 has grown to over 400. To make the top 200 I'll need I'm sure in excess of 2,000 points in the last race, that I can't see happening. It's been a very enjoyable season though so I'll just aim to have fun in the last race.

Nice double overtake of that Genesis on the last lap, especially on the last curve. I had a very similar situation in my manu race. Qualified 16th, worked up to 9th, and shouldve been ecstatic. Last curve of the last lap, I got greedy and tried to go for 8th. Smashed into the Porsche i'd been battling with, and ruined his race and mine. I went from 9th to 18th.

One of my most exciting races of the season for MFG! Started in 5th in the top split after the aliens went to sleep. Battled the Aston infront of my for all 9 laps. Final corner had the lead and overshot it as 4 cars all went into the hairpin together!!

Video is time stamped to race start! It was bumper to bumper start to finish.

I thought I would check how the Manufacturers would go if it was just Gr.4 (simple total, not excluding any races)

Now this is just EMEA, but since that has the most drivers it is probably a fair representation of where the cars are for race pace. Poor Peugeot :(

I run 3 accounts. EU , North america and south america.
1 BMW
1JAGUAR
1HONDA
Talking about gr4 only. I'm in love with Honda. What an amazing car. I win yesterday nation with regulars 1.35 laps and finished 7 seconds ahead if i remember well.
The NSX gr3 is a bit more technical to to drive but is also very performant after some heavy training sessions.
I'll be back with honda next season and i'll test something elseon others account.

Great race and driving last night! I should have raced again and joined the fun, I regret not doing it now.

My videos from Wednesday night racing. Very tough time in the Ferrari at Manu, where I thought I had better pace and could move up the field. Looking forward to the last two races of the season!

Does anyone have any tips for ds4 pad users, specifically to help them not lose 0.5 per lap at the hairpin at lago maggiore in the nations Red Bull X2019 Competition, compared to wheel users ? It seems that the ability to take this turn quickly is diminished using DS4, hope I’m wrong.

Went into the Maggiore race with little practice. Bottled the last corner in quali and then had a shocking first sector on lap 1. Result wasn't great but had a couple of nice battles along the way.

Well this is it folks, the last race of the season. Good luck everyone!

I'd love to finish on a high note seeing as how I haven't been able to improve my score in Manu since round 13. Unfortunatly the last few Gr.4 combos have been awful for the Scirocco and RL commitments made me miss 2 combos I may have done well at in this second half.

After I ran "FP1" last night it seems I suck at Catalunya, hopefully "FP2" tonight helps me find another second.

Hahaha, FP1 and FP2. Good stuff man.

Lol yea. My typical practice regiment for a Saturday race is "FP1" on Thursday night which is 1 or more sessions in free practice mode to find my limit and see how close I cant get to Top 10. Then Friday is "FP2" where I open a Free Run lobby with race tire wear and fuel settings to work out strategy and see how close I can get to my previous set limit. Then Saturday afternoon is "FP3" where after find what %fuel I'll do my fast lap for qualy I do lap after lap of my fast lap.

Needless to say it's been a long season, trying to get on the game every night. Sundays were my night off and I appreciated combos where my car wasn't competitive enough so I could have a few days off lol.

I'm looking forward to it being over TBH. I went a little hard for someone whose not even that good(133rd in NA Manu) I know a wasn't going to qualify for anything, I just really wanted to get as high up the leaderboard as possible.

Bit of a break before the exhibition seasons start.

Are they aware November 18th is a Monday?

They may mean December since it says 2019/2020 and December 18th will be a Wednesday.

Typically these exhibitions are 10 rounds so if it starts mid November it won't go until January.

Monday is probably the day the event is posted and practice begins.

Those corner inside overtakes can be really tricky. So many times the driver on the outside will switch back over inside to tighten up the line and really not see you there. I’ve done this so many times and got whacked. It’s hard(for me) to keep one eye on the apex and the other on the radar through the turn. I now ...try... to be a bit more aware and if I take the outside line to give the guy behind me room to run, I’ll …try… to stay on that line through the curve. The downside is that it looks like I intentionally left the door open and the drivers behind me then make a mad dash through that door.

Or they could mean, September 18th which is a Wednesday. But I guess I'm wrong.

A bit of a break? More like a LONG break.

I´m not sure what I should think about this kind of races like the latest Nations Cup on Tsukuba.
Racing those N200 cars looks boring especially when it´s almost impossible to overtake like on Tsukuba.
On the other hand it´s really mental to go into such a race. You know qualifying will be extremely close and your lap needs to be just perfect.
Also you can´t afford any mistakes during the race and there's nothing like a comfortable gap to the cars behind.
Maybe it´s just one piece of a good player to withstand such a race. :sly:

Sept 18th makes the most sense. There's always an FIA season of some sort going on. We'll probably get details at the live event on the 14th-15th.

I was expecting something more like mid-September, after Salzburg. Although I did wonder if they would hold back on the next season until after Monaco, which could also make sense. Obviously their day/date doesn't make sense!

yes on french site they say
La nouvelle saison des Nations Cup et Manufacturer Series des FIA Gran Turismo Championships débutera le mercredi 18 septembre 2019 dans le mode Sport.
that mean Wednesday Sept 18th :)
Probability a typo or a wrong translate

The Greek and German sites say November 18th. The Spanish site says September 18th. All of them agree on Wednesday though. :odd:

 Well this is confusing!

I'd put my money on the French and German sites being correct. Actually, just checked the Japan page (because surely they'd get that one correct?) and that says 18th September.

As far as I'm aware, this is physically impossible. Sucks to be us B)

Out of curiosity: since you're participating in the world tours, aren't you considering switching to the wheel?

I use the controller for practical reasons, to keep the living room clean, but if I was competing at your level I'd be considering the wheel at this time.
