Bud that was me in the Merc and I did tap your rear end but it caught me out how early you braked for that corner, I was carrying a lot more speed through there than that and misjudged it completely. Totally my fault I am sorry, just it wasn't like your thinking I am a clean racer, I'm sure others on here that I've raced with would back me up on that. Also when I tapped you on my screen I barely grazed your back bumper but, dunno why (guessing GT physics) you got more of a hit then it felt. I was probably pushing a bit too hard because yes I had a 5 sec pen from lap 1 but watch the replay and you'll see why.

Once again I do apologise to you but I'm not an over zealous or impatient racer, usually quite the opposite, sorry if I messed your race, I hope we can have a good, clean battle on track at some point so I can show you I'm not the driver you think. :)
No worries mate, think you caught me as I started turning in which may have accentuated it a little. It wasn't a big hit, but one of those that's enough to mess up a corner and consequently the mahoosive drag up the hill!

Anyhow, no problem. I'm sure if we race regularly enough I'll be at fault for an incident or two and it'll be me on here doing the apologising 👍

Sound thanks bud, happy racing

Just to second that @SmokeyMR2 isn't a dirty driver. I've raced him on a number of occasions and he's always clean. Accidents happen and we all make mistakes.

My Manufacturers race wasn't a good one. I've probably not spent enough time practicing and too much time chasing Hamiltons ghost around various tracks
Qualified 19th(!) and finished 13th purely by keeping out of trouble. That and making sure I used the hard tyre. Seriously, how are people still not getting that right? @Lost Sheltie was in my race and did better than I did, despite a pretty close encounter at the ridiculous pit exit corner!
The Hyundai experiment is going better than the Ferrari experiment but I don't love the cars. Thinking maybe Alfa Romeo or Jaguar next season (yes I'm already thinking about next season).

Yeah that first corner was a bit exciting. Think there was 2 people just ahead of you that I was racing, so when I came out the pits and had you all barrelling down on me, I was just happy to survive. I really do struggle with the rear end on that Lambo trying to kill me, so tbh I was happy to get 9th out of that race. Looking at my times in that race I was fluctuating between 53's and 52's depending on whether I got the 3 braking zones correct because as soon as the rear end stepped out I was losing 3 or 4 tenths. I did try a race earlier but a guy made a half hearted attempt to pass me going into the 1st corner and spun me around, so my tyres were wrecked and the car was damaged.

Nations went a lot better with me choosing the Mustang due to its easy to drive nature. Qualified in 5th, and got lucky with the guys behind me starting to fight relatively quickly which allowed us to build up a gap to the rest of the field. I did have 1 brake too late moments into the 1st corners, but I managed to turn it into an overtake and only missed the inside curb by about 1 car width so it wasn't too bad. Got lucky towards the end as there was a guy trying to no stop, and the guy in 2nd did a couple of impatient moves on him so I was able to moses down the middle of the Senna Esses and then get a gap on them. 2 Nations wins in a row, so at least that is going well :)

I did disconnect in the 1st attempt so think my DR went down overall.

Got some decent points on saturday night. I couln´t get a lap near my practice times, not sure why but felt I was not in the right pace. So Qualy went bad, P16 and started with H/S looking for a longer first stint. Ended up doing only one stop but running some laps on very worn tires, a mostly mistake free race, only caught a 5 sec penalty due to pushing a porsche in the right hander after the esses. Just surprised me how much he slowed down when in the middle of the corner and tapped him hard enough to be penalized. Fair enough, he was probably with bad tires. Last laps there was drama all around, I was pretty slow due to 12 laps on softs but defended my line and only one guy got through.

So, P11 and some points. It feels bittersweet because I know I could have done better. Lost 2 places on the Mercedes CSA ranking (P8 now) but gained some in the regional leaderboard (P53 at the moment)

Race reviews from round 4. 2 quite entertaining races and a look at how the strategy plays out in a live situation

N500 should be enforced. Not, "tune your car up to N500". The X-Bow Cup is bogus. First race, I used the RE FD3S. Second race, I used the X-Bow. Both races had one or two 911s. It's really no fun with just the one car.

Nah, they should just ditch N class and do more ONE MAKE races with cars that we haven't tried before.
You mean like the Toyobaru twins? I can't remember if they were ever any One-Make races featuring them... Maybe PD can make a car/track combo we haven't seen before with Fuji or Tsukuba or Suzuka...

1 stop for today's Manu? I did a session last night in the Renault which is probably meta in tire wear. On a no stop, after lap 8 my lap times were dipping well into the 49's and 50's on the last 5 laps. With a 1 stop my in lap was a 53 and outlap a 50, then I was hitting 47's down to 49s in the last few laps.

Keep in mind I'm not that good lol, but I figure 1-stopping is slightly quicker, at least for me, probaly 12-15 seconds.

Nations should be about who is the best driver across all different types of cars, so more targeted races would be good in my eyes.
  • They've done FWD only Gr.4 races in the daily races so why not in nations?
  • Japan only races (Skyline, Evo, NSX, etc.)
  • Why not do a race for cars made in the 60's/70's/80's etc?
  • Why not a pre 2000 gr.1 race?
Loads of options that they can try instead of the normal N class race where you will only see M4/F40/F50/911/SFR or KTM.

On the manu race the no stop looks to be quicker, but not by a massive amount and only if you can really save the tyres. I think a lot of people will do the 1 stop just for safety, but at the end of the day it will be all about avoiding trouble at the Chicane of Death. I'm just going to try and sit in the slipstream and save tyres and see how it goes.

Well, that is part of the solution to the same N500 and what's next, N300? That'll be the X-Bow again.

I have used alternative cars. Used the N300 250 GTO at TESOL. Dead last, but at least I tried to do something different.

I wouldn't mind if PD did stop using N class. However, as mentioned above, in Daily Races, there were good variety in the FF Gr.4 races and N300 JDMs.

The real variety are in the bread & butter Gr.3/Gr.4 Nations races.

I'm not sure I'll even bother with qualifying in the only Nations race I'll be free to start. I finally reached Level 50 last night but my rating took a real hit in the effort over the last couple of days due to some right nutters. I've only just made it back to B/B (B/S is basically 'my level' and the highest I've ever managed, so I'm not fully recovered). I hate racing the Tokyo circuits as things tend to go south pretty quick, and I'm not exactly the best X-Bow driver out there as it is. So the best option for me will be to start at the back and hopefully profit from the inevitable penalties being dished out in front of me. A couple of test laps shows I'm 15 seconds off the Top 10 times, so chances are qually would be fairly pointless anyway!

As for Manu, I'm still regretting choosing Lexus this season. Still to do some testing, but Dragon Trail's Chicane of Death holds no fears for me (that's jinxed it!:banghead:) and at least there are currently 2 RC Fs in the top 3 times, so hopefully I actually have the car for the job this time.

Edit: 3.5s off the Top time after 3 laps, so not so bad by my low expectations. And at least it's run in the direction I find the chicane much easier to negotiate in a tidy manner.

Time to do a couple of daily races to see if I can get closer to that B/S rating in time for tonight's FIA challenges.

Oh dear what a disaster . Can only laugh really. Qualified 9th, was up to 5th after first lap then just run wide enough to get caught in the gravel which sent me back into the chasing pack and from then just went down hill. By the end i hit the chicane of death THREE times and finished dead last! :O

My lowest points of this season. Ended up first out of the pits, so went for a clean air lap, and never really nailed one. Pitted part way through and still didn't really end up near anyone I could try to get a slipstream behind, and still had some notably poor corners each lap. Qualified 13th, right behind stpatty, with a time 0.6 slower than my best clean air full fuel lap in practice. The race was an absolute bargefest, with some extremely aggressive driving, and the lap times, as a result, were astoundingly slow. I stuck to my plan of preserving my tyres to keep the no-stopper available as an option, and part way through the race, it seemed the only possible way to get a decent result. Once the people ahead were out of the way, having pitted, I was able to lap a staggering 3 seconds quicker than the slowest of the bargefest laps, i.e. everyone basically really hurt their own race by being so keen to constantly leapfrog back and forth instead of just working together to move around the track as quickly as possible. stpatty had managed to move up a bit in the bargefest period, and went for a 1-stop, so he came out not a huge distance behind me, and I thought it might be a bit touch and go for staying ahead. I had a bit of help from a 4C ahead, whose excellent tyre wear gave him great pace later in the race, so I got some slipstream until he gapped me as my worse tyre wear in the Citroen slowed me down. I caught up to someone ahead who I assume was also no-stopping, but thankfully he appreciated how futile it would have been to defend to the extreme, as I was clearly much faster, so I got past and he gained some speed from my slipstream for a while. That put him in between me and stpatty, so I had to hope there would be at least some delay to stpatty in overtaking. As we started lap 12 of 15, stpatty was the car behind me, with a gap of 2.7 seconds. But he wouldn't have a slipstream any more, and I thought the Nissan would probably suffer with front tyre wear, so I didn't see it as totally hopeless. Starting lap 13, it was down to 2.0 seconds, and starting lap 14, 1.1 seconds. One thing that was saving me was I was consistently getting a better exit from the chicane of death. Starting lap 15 the gap was 0.5 seconds, so it was a case of defend to the death for the last lap, and I used up the last bit of life in my tyres with max braking each corner. It was a close, hard fought, but contact free battle, and I just managed to hold him off to the end. Immediately before the race, I'd done a practice lobby where I finished 1 second quicker than the winner, which is not an uncommon situation.

Just for reference, my front tyres were about the same as the Citroen's after 7 laps vs. after 15 respectively. That was me driving carefully.

I watched it back and the amount of time you lost in the first half of the race was amazing. Cars three wide into the hairpin at the bottom of the hill. I'm glad I managed to get past that when I did.

Did the Nations first tonight, and that wasn't the greatest idea I have ever had. Made a bit of a mess of qualifying and ended up 13th, so stuck the hards on the front and decided to just see what happened. Dodged a couple of missiles(Olé) in the first couple of laps, but made a mistake on the 2rd lap. After the right kink at the end of the main"straight" there was a guy going slowly in the middle of the road. I had the choice to go left or right, and chose the wrong one, giving me a 6.5 second penalty. Ended up in 17th after pitting, but managed to fight my way up to 8th, before losing a position on the last lap to a guy with much newer tyres.

Problem was this dropped my SR to 89, so ended up with other less safe drivers in Manufacturers(5 A+ and the rest A's), including RC_Snake, so I pretty much knew 1st was gone. I completely bottled qualifying, messing up the chicane both times, so started 12th. Worked my way up through the field, picking of a few drivers with decent moves and them crashing, and managed to get 4th by lap 7. The front 3 didn't stop so thought they would be doing a no-stop, but Snake pitted on lap 8 so we all followed him. Nothing much else happened for the rest of the race as I was 6 seconds behind 3rd going into the pit. Managed to get it down to about a second but that was all I could do.

Sr back up to 99 and DR up to 54K so taking that and running :)

Had a great race at Seaside tonight, started P6 and finished P3. I was up into 2nd for a couple of laps after the stop but the guy behind me in the Vette stayed out for an extra lap or 2 on the first stint and it seemed to have helped him pull away in the last couple of laps. Overall a really fun race though, I even got in a couple nice passes along the way, including going around the outside on a guy at the hairpin that leads to the death chicane. I didn’t go into the corner intending to pass him, but it worked out that way anyways. :)

The guy had 1 red dot.
You know you can report people after the race for Connection Quality?

Fun race at Tokyo, slightly marred by an asshat who manage to block me on the last corner starting my best Q lap and then hit me three times within it, and then crash into me on the first corner on the next Q-lap, but I scrapped from 11th (he started two places behind) to 3rd. Insanely, the guy who won was over 3s a lap faster than anyone else in qualifying, and in the race (low 2'06 in both in the X-Bow), and finished over a minute ahead of second so everyone but him timed out at the end...

Dragon Trail was a catastro**** with a Dutch guy in a Cayman trying to block everyone from passing, then had a ten lap scrap with an Italian in a Lexus that basically stopped anyone who'd pitted and come out behind them from passing cleanly.

The string of poor results continues. Seeded last in 2nd split CSA Manu room with the Subaru. Qualified 12th and was running a comfortable 11th most of the race on a one-stop and having some great battles trying to get into the top ten.

Last lap, in the hairpin before the hill, I'm tapped. Was pushed over the curb a bit on the exit and lost the back end, spun out, and dropped six places. He waited for me, so I got that position back and one more.

Of the four races I have been able to do this season, three have been with this crap Slowbaru Gr. 4 WRX :banghead:.

So, my night:

Nations: I've so much bad luck at Tokyo in ANY variation, I refuse to race at it in any compacity after this one. I intentionally refused to qualify just so I could avoid be used as a brake or get punted into the wall like I always was. Somehow even being by myself, still manage contact AND a penalty. Seriously? Not for cutting the track, but outbraking myself into a guardrail. What a damn joke.

Manufacturers: Despite the chicane once again screwing me over, It went abit better. Practice pretty much gave me all the bad news I needed to know: The RC F just chews through Tires on 10x Tire wear as if the Mediums were softs, which meant I had no choice but to do a 2 stopper. After starting dead last, the most I could get up to was 16th.

Abit of a Cursed night overall after Saturday's Lax races.

2 top 16 races tonight. First one was Nations. Made pole with a decent lap. Started the race with hybrid compounds, struggled a lot when in draft. Pitted early for mediums but got stuck on traffic which compromized me. But pace was good.

Second one was manufacturers. Jaguar was great here but I messed up my qualy badly, and I even blocked another driver. Only managed one hot lap and was good enough for 5th. On the race I tried to save a lot of rubber using the draft. Went for a no stopper which really saved my race. Great result in the end.
