I wasn't conserving. I was on RH and the Atenza is one of the slowest Gr.3 cars in a straightline

In fact I don't know how I managed to qualify that high up and not fall back in the full throttle sections lol.
My totally-not-serious strategy for the race:
Only practiced for 2 laps on RM to test wear 30 mins before the race
Quali RH - also testing wear of RH (laptime is a bit slower on 1st lap but feels better to drive on 2nd lap and laptime dropoff isn't that much), so decided to go on RH for first stint
Race - RH 2 laps, fuel saving if I get blocked by the car in front, otherwise try to desperately stay in the draft of faster cars. Pit for RM and fill up to just under 50% fuel, came out 3rd and stayed that way the rest of the race (nice 10 second cushion in front and behind lol).
Initially I was going to use the Beetle because it's good on tires (potentially can run whole race on RH and only stop for fuel), but seeing GTP's article on Mazda's 100th Anniversary decided to use the Atenza instead (and searched for appropriate livery - link below). Turns out the Mazda is one of the better cars on fuel and tyre is not too bad. So everything worked out in the end

Prolly helps that I escaped the top split as well this time
