Started 4th and had a nightmare opening lap consisting of silly mistakes but got back to 5th pretty quickly and stayed there until the end. Very boring race, mainly down to the fact that the entire grid was made up of Roadster TC's so virtually nothing to separate them. You'd gain half a tenth one corner and lose half a tenth the next. The biggest source of entertainment was the qualifying pit lane glitch which was resolved by somebody getting fed up and leaving. Suddenly the glitch was resolved lol

I've never seen the pit lane glitch happen during an FIA race, but in almost every lobby race I've done for the last couple weeks it's happened during a qualifying session.

So PD came up with a way to determine that 293% power and 114% weight is an adequate balance for the beetle to fit into N100, but whatever measuring stick they used left it’s transmission capping out at 75MPH...

To my knowledge, PD never adjusts gear ratios for these cars as part of BoP.

I wonder how they're coming up with the values then?

Speaking of BoP, does anyone know of any non-Stratos or MX-5 TC that’s capable of setting somewhat noteworthy times? Best I’ve tried is the 86 GRMN but it looks to be 5-7 seconds off the top times.

Thy the Honda S660, the MR layout should be alright around LS. :)

Ferrari Dino might be worth a go too (I haven't tried it myself but heard not terrible things from someone else).

I'm used to being off the pace in some races, but seriously! For a start, I was dumped in a lobby with 12 C/S drivers compared to 7 B/S (including myself):banghead:
I qualified last of 19 (Door 14), about 8 seconds off pole and only finished P18 (for 15 pts!) with CRB because one penalised car ghosted until it was presumably DQ'd. I finished about 18s behind the car in front and a minute behind the winner! And I was dropped to C/S to make matters worse!

I asked after the race what transmission others had used and the winner and one other said MT. As a non-motorist, I rarely use MT in games, but I know it can be an advantage if used well.
I also rarely mess with gear ratios as that's a minefield for non-drivers. Give me 22 or 30 gears on my bicycles and I'm in my element, but 4 to 6 in a car to mess about with...

Any set-up tips before I call today a waste of time?

I can get the Plymouth XNR closer than that, but I wouldn't race it. Huge power and torque (by comparison - 146hp BOPped), but 1350kg and almost the whole lap is 2nd gear...

I’m no alien but I think the GRMN is slightly faster, I was able to push it to 1:54.0 with a 1:53.2xx optimal. I only got the S660 to about ~1:56 with only minor precision issues, I don’t think I could squeeze 2 extra seconds out of it.

I’m gonna be brave and try @Famine’s risky Plymouth idea now.

What! No Sambabus? :D
Yep. That's the Type 2. ;)

The GRMN in my race, quit with 7 minutes to go. There was also a Dino that slowed down and quit into the 2nd lap.

What about the modern Alpine car or blue one?
Or 4c? Do those go n100?
I think the A110 has too much power to drop from 300 to 146. Not sure about the 4C.

Just did Nations. I've never known a race be so tense and so boring at the same time

Its all about qualifying. I was held up by someone and overtaking will slow you down even more so was kinda stuck. Qualified 15th and finished 11th. All places gained were by passing slow moving cars who had presumably spun on the run up to the corkscrew.

It did bunch together on the last lap and a half but was otherwise just being in a train of 20 Mazda TC's.

One and done for that one :)

It can't be any worse than the N200 race at Tsukuba last preseason. I started 6th and only passed 1 car that was serving a BS penalty (and even then I could barely complete that pass). I spent the entire race staring at the same car's rear bumper, and the car behind me had a view of nothing but my rear bumper as well. We all got past the penalized car, and that was the only pass we made the entire race.

So - Nations cup, 1st race for my homeland

As my objective here is an S license I went in the Meta. Had good feelings after good race with it a while ago at RBR. Started at 18k DR which is a bit below my usual range

1st slot: Qualified pole with a mediocre lap, 2nd lap would have been almost 1s faster, but it got ruined by a 0.5s penalty at corkscrew.

Start of the race was good, broke slipstream on the ascend towards corkscrew and then it was just extending the lead. Beginning of lap 6 I was 8s in front and it looked like an easy win - was doing best laps one after the other. Lap 6 at the left hander after the sign, I was to enthusiastic and put it in the sand... and spun it there for a good 20s losing 13 positions in the process. Race changed into a limit the damage one, managed to get to 8th but I was rammed from behind in the last corner and had to settle for 11th.

2nd slot: Qualified in 4th, could not find any pace. Start was good, front 4 we managed to break away after the first few corners. Passed the car in front in 2nd lap only to lose the position 1 lap later. In lap 5, at the left-hander before the hill 2 cars in front went wide and spun. Then it was a good 3 laps battle with the leader until I managed to overtake him. He was able to keep in 1s range for another 2 laps but he made a mistake in the same left-hander as the other 2 and my 1s lead turned into 4s. I slowed the pace a bit and avoided any risks - still finished victorious with a 3.5s gap. 87 points is a good starting point.

Nations

EMEA

Slot 4:

Better, albeit against an entirely C/S grid (all Mazda TCs again). Qualified P13 (Door 1) using MT with a time 2.2s better than Slot 2 with AT,and made my way through to finish P4 for 36 pts, just missing out on the CRB by slightly misjudging a corner entry.

Nations today, first slot got disconnected, second slot Q4 P1. My 12th win and very happy with that one!
A very slow race where every single move has long term consequences, I wasn't sure initially but ended up really enjoying it, mostly thanks to the people I raced with. Here's a lap from the middle of the race. Great stuff!

Also a picture of the run up to the Corkscrew lap 1. Can't believe we all made it alive! And man with HDR in that light, this game looks absolutely incredible...

Well if you look at the result that went well, started p5 finished p5 with lancia Stratos and MT but... Truth is after the Lemans disaster yesterday I drop from BS to BB and haven t played since. So the lobby was half BB and half E(!!!!). All of them finished out lapped! At least I returned to A SR in one race, now a bit of dragon trail to come back to S

Well...that was awful...started 16th, finished 19th. Made a stupid mistake and hit the sausage on the inside of the turn before run up to the corkscrew, put myself in the sand, and nearly spun. That put me in last, and I made up one spot because someone spun in the same spot towards the end of the race. I spent most of the race in last, not because I was that far from everyone, but because I legitimately didn't have any pace to catch even the tail end of the field. The gap between myself and the tail of the field fluctuated between 5-7 seconds most of the race depending on which of us made a slight mistake on our lap. I think it's gonna be one-and-done for me in spite of the result, as even without my mistake, I doubt I had the pace to score enough points to wipe the results from one of my previous rounds.

After reading some of the previous race reports, I was prepared for a snooze-fest at today's Nations. I was quite happily surprised, even though it was a Roadster one-make.

I qualied a somewhat disappointing 9th but the race was a bit more fun. I pulled up to P6 by lap 2 and then just had a slight series of mishaps from there. Nothing major but just enough for people to overtake me on the straights in a few places. After the lead group pulled away, another driver and I became a chase pack of two. He held my slipstream for 2 laps, then I used his. P6 came into view and my chase buddy disconnected. :(

Right after that came my biggest mistake of the race where I slid just into the sand just after T3. I lost enough time to lose sight of P6 and let P8 catch up to me. Unfortunately, my new racing partner wasn't interested in working together. Long story short, we swapped places a few times and I almost caught him again coming out of the Rainey Curve on the final lap but I never got enough speed to get around him one final time.

Finished P8 for 50 pts. In terms of overall speed and total points, I think this is about as good as I'm going to do with this combo right now. Let's see if I can get a little more speed out of my Jag for Fuji tomorrow.

I took two kicks at the can tonight. The first race I ended up in top split, I couldn’t find a draft in Q so I ended up starting P17, not that I’d have started much higher with one. Had a good clean race and finished P15. I knew I could do better with a decent Q so I decided to try again.

The 2nd race was in what I assume to be second split(289 for 1st). I got lucky and found a juicy draft this time and had a much better qualifying, stuck it on pole for a minute there but ended up starting P2, .024 off of pole. Once the race started I was a little nervous and lost a couple spots early on, but I managed to stay in the draft and on the track and by the end it was down to just 4 of us in the lead group with me in P3. The two leaders were actually starting to pull away by the last lap, but then they started jostling for position and it allowed me to close the gap and hold off P4 in a final few corners. It was a really fun race, it’s so nice when everyone races cleanly and fairly. :)

Where can I fit this Miata?

Here’s a fun clip from my warmup race after crashing on both qualy laps and starting P20.

I Managed to put it on pole later in the last slot with a 1:50.05, but couldn’t keep the lead and finished P3. That full race is posted on my YT.

Fuji was a blur. Think I started in the bottom top 10. Didn't know what strategy to employ.

Started in RS for 3 laps. Switched to RMs til lap 9? Switched to RS and ran those til Lap 12/13. Switched for another set of RS for the finish.

Looking forward to Nations at Spa.

Highest ranked lobby I’ve been in so far. Wasn’t surprised to see no.19 in my door out of 19 cars

Very pleased to put the Viper 11th in qualifying. T1 lap 1 someone came diving from p19, obviously decided he had nothing to lose and smashed me off. Thankfully didn’t go too far off the track and came back on in 14th. A couple of cars had penalties including the rammer who had gone from 19th to 10th using that tactic, and I was back into 11th by the end of the lap.

Had a great race after after that. Made up a couple of positions and was 9th on the last lap about to make a move for 8th but got dived. Kept it on the track and accepted 10th. I did fuel save a bit too much in the end, crossing the line with 1.5 laps left.

Pleased with the result in that lobby even if I didn’t add any points to my overall total :)
