Raced in the second slot of Manufacturers. For some reason, Interlagos seems to bring out people's blood lust in my experience. This is not the first time I've witnessed something like this here:

As much as I dislike racing late in the evening, I'll be doing the last slot since this attempt did not go well. Qualified 17th and finished 13th for 86 points. I could have potentially placed higher if I didn't caught in the above incident. It's also safe to say that Interlagos is not one of my stronger tracks and the Huracan's understeer is a challenge to deal with on this kind of circuit as well.

Interlagos take two was a bit better.

For some reason, I still can't qualify well there. My practice says that I have the speed for pole in these lobbies but obviously, I'm lacking consistency here. This time I qualy P11 after only managing to set one qualifying flying lap.

The carnage wasn't quite as bad as the last race but there were still plenty of incidents. I manage to avoid the worst of it and slide up to P4. I'm on the tail of P3 trying to set up an overtake when this happens:

(Again, I'm the green Mazda. The blue Jag that hits me is once again the best view for everything.)

I know, it's partially my fault for not going defensive but more frustrating was the orange SR down arrow I got when the blue Jag hit me. Of course, it was all a bit downhill from there. I never really got the pace back and the pack caught me and overtook me when I received another bump.

But all in all, I'm okay with P8. I have the potential to go much faster with this combo but my consistency and racecraft need some working on.

Once again started directly behind @Granadier in Manufacturer's, only this time both of us were near the front of the field at the same time for once (4th and 5th). The polesitting Aston nearly spun between Turns 1 and 2, allowing the Corvette in 2nd to take the lead, while the Aston bunched the rest of us up as he tried to gather it back together. This allowed me to get a run on @Granadier out of Turn 3, but I couldn't clear him before Turn 4 and he re-passed me, and that opened the door for 2 more cars to get by me. Lap 1 ended with @Granadier 3rd and me 6th, with the Corvette at the front running away from all of us who were squabbling. Eventually I passed @Granadier into Turn 1 on Lap 4 for what was then 5th place, and after that spent the rest of the race in a 4-way battle for 2nd. I got up to 4th place after the Lexus that had been occupying that spot got a track limits penalty, and on the last Lap decided to try to take 3rd spot from a Cayman, but failed which allowed the Lexus to repass me for 4th.

In the end only 1 spot separated me and @Granadier again, with me in 5th and him in 6th. The 182 points I got is good for my 3rd best score, but given that another Corvette actually managed to win the race, and I had the pace for a better result, I'm tempted to try again. Also, this result only improved my total points score by 4, so I don't have much to lose at the moment. At the same time, the only reason I even qualified so high up in the 1st place was because I was able to slipstream the same car for half the session and find a rhythm without worrying about losing the draft. I'm not sure I could repeat that again.

Ran my race, and scored another top 10. Not a meaningful points event being that I had the lucky number 1 plate, yet could only snag 15th on the grid. But ran my race. Knew I could run a consistent lap time, so kinda stuck with that. Benefited from a few spin offs and time penalties to finish 9th.

Again issues with the wheel. Won't name brands, but starting to think this German company builds junk.

Good race man. I was frustrated from my previous disconnect along with some irl issues and drove more aggressively than I’d care to admit. Sorry about any bumps as we fought. You drove really well.

The RH tires, as always, belong in a dumpster.

Guys, please don't ram people intentionally for revenge when you are hit, not only it is not the solution, you may take innocent people out in the process...

The guy in the BMW is hit in the previous corner so he decides to ram back, going full throttle into the braking zone. I'm the one in the dark McLaren in P12 who has nothing to do with their crash, but ended up having to recover from last place with engine damage...

How's 86 Gr.4 going for everyone yesterday? The nerfs are giving the car bad luck for me to the point I tried the Supra for the Gr.4 Nations instead to no avail (for Manufacturer's loyalty reasons).

I qualified better starting in 14th but thanks to a Porsche driver that went off on turn 1 and didn’t know how to look before rejoining, I was forced off the track and got a 0.5 second penalty.

That little penalty was enough to kill my momentum for the race and I placed one position lower than my last attempt. 14th for 79 points.

It sucks that this evening ended on such a low note, but hopefully I can replace this score later in the championship with a better one. In the mean time, I'm going to take a break from Manufacturers and focus on the Zonda R one-make next weekend. That sounds like it'll be fun.

I did the final slot for Manufacturers, and the same guy that beat me at St. Croix was in there. Plus, this room had two A ranked drivers. So considering my experience of being in a A/B room from the dailies, I had a feeling this was gonna go two ways: tight yet clean, or a bar fight for positions. Thankfully, it was the former.

I qualified 16th, my door number was 18, and I was the only WRX in the race. There was also a Scirocco and a TT. Considering there's tire wear, who knew they would show up for the party?!

From the drop of the green flag to end of lap 7, I was fighting for every position south of 14th. I did get served a time penalty for exiting turn 4 too wide on lap 2, even though I didn't gain a position...🤬 So when it kicked in on the following lap, it dropped me to dead last. At least I can only go up from this point. lol. I was able to make my way back up to 14th on lap 7.

Once lap 8 hit, I was finally in clean air and was able to set my fastest lap of the race trying to catch an M4. Over the duration of the next 3 laps, a Viper and the TT went off course, so I was able to move up to 12th. I couldn't catch the M4. Plus I beat the two A ranked drivers.

I'm satisfied. 👍

Nah... I ran again and won in slot 2 for about 250ish points.

Earlier in the season I usually had a substandard first race then disconnected from every race after that... at least now I am reasonably confident I can run again if it doesn't go to plan.

As the season goes on the drop-off in later slots is becoming very noticeable. Slot 2 for manufacturers was worth less than P6 in slot 1 for top split races.

Congrats for the win. I guess it depends whether you value wins or points more in these races. It's good to win but in terms of points, if you're not averaging 300+ then it's very hard to make the cutoff rank for WT events.

I'm tempted to choose the second slot for the weekend Manu race now, just so I can be in "top" split and avoid the carnage of second split. My DR isn't high enough to go top split for first slot, and by second slot hopefully enough drivers have dropped off for me to just squeak through

Last Nation's was the only one I had time for.
Qualified 15, finished 10.
There where one driver that put me in the wall twice, looking at the replay from his POW he ran his line with no adjustments to other players and that's why.
Unfortunately I nudged him in the hairpin, and made him go a tiny bit wide. Not changing anything for either of us but apparently it gave him a 3 second penalty.
I feel sorry for giving him a penalty, inspite him giving me two. He did get another four penalties in the race but apparently he felt the one I gave him was the bane of his race because he called me the biggest idiot on the track in post.
Apart from that I am pleased with the race.

So on to Fuji in Gr.2 (should be a pretty strong combo for me). As much as I loved using it I felt they should nerf the '08 GT-R the same way they nerfed the Gr.4 Jag, with a 2% BoP power cut. Came back off my month off and noticed they'd just taken the 4% off the power! I've tested it and that car's not competitive now, was well off the times I could set in the '16 car. Any of the other '08 versions truly competitive or is it a straight choice between the '16 cars?

I know I'm late but.....

21:00 EDT Nations Cup: Dragon Trail - Seaside II - Round 13

I enter with 1 on the door and promptly qualify 17th in the Audi TT. I decide to start on hards and figure I would go 1H/14M. At the end of lap 1, I'm now 16th with 17-19 right behind me (I don't know what happened to 20th). I decide to stay out another lap since I am keeping up with 14-15 (only Ferrari on the track) and I didn't want to lose any momentum I was having on the hards.

End of lap 2 and now I'm in 14th getting a tow from 13 with 15 (Ferrari) and 16 right behind me. So....I stay out another lap on hards. 12th crashed on the COD and now I'm up to 13th with a little space behind to 14th. Again, I am still running pretty strong...so I stay out another lap. I figure the less laps I am on mediums, the harder I can drive them.

Now on lap 5 (still on hards) I am in 12th getting a tow. We cross the line and I am right behind 10 and 11. I get by 11 at T1 and start gaining on 10. Now 9-13 (Ferrari) are all together with tight, close, and clean racing! I move up to 10th as someone ahead pits. I am still on hards on lap 7 and closing in on 9th. At this point I think about doing a no stopper but feel the hards will start to fall off and mediums would be better. I am 11th as we start lap 8 and by now the Ferrari is in 10th. That Ferrari was plenty fast so I decide I will slipstream him as he runs down the field. I start to lose the slipstream as he is just killing it. I catch up just as he passes 10th and now I am on the tail of 10th. The Ferrari gets loose at the COD and we squeeze by.

I finally pit on lap 10. I put on my mediums and come back out 13th. I start working my way up through the field and people still have to pit while I cruise on my fresh mediums. I get in the groove and end up finishing 8th, .024 ahead of another TT. We had a great battle on the final lap and I went around the outside on the left hander after the Larini banner. I hold him off to the end.

I wish I could take a race photo from the replay but any button press on the replay causes a crash. I'm not sure what the issue is...

21:00 EDT Manufacturer Series: Willow Springs International Raceway: Big Willow

I qualify 15th in my AMG GT with 3 on the door. I like Big Willow no matter what car I use. I figured if I just take my time, people would just off themselves. Again, my replays crash so I don't remember much but I ended up in 7th which I though was pretty good including getting the CRB.

16:00 EDT Nations Cup: Tokyo Expressway - East Outer Loop

I love the Tokyo tracks. I seem to have better success on long fast tracks (LeMans and Tokyo). I have most of my wins on these tracks.
I get in with 5 on the door of my Greddy Fugu Z. I use the PX7-Windfire (via @Mistah_MCA) tune and qualify 15th due to some dummies on the track not knowing how to space out. Again, I figure I would just take my time and let people crash out.

I keep a steady pace throughout the race and try to avoid the carnage. Mid race, there was a pack of us keeping it close and clean. Eventually I pick up a wall penalty and fall back a little. I end up crossing the line in 9th. I figure that wasn't too bad since I was on the fence about doing this race to begin with.

!7:20 EDT Manufacturer Series: Autódromo de Interlagos

I enter with 10 on the door and qualify 9th. I feel pretty good about this race as I can keep a steady pace and flow win this track. Most of the race was clean and uneventful except for the one guy that was a little bargy on his passes. I guess he was trying to make up spots since he started 3rd but somehow fell down the order. I eventually finish in 10th after being as high as 6th. On the 9 lap, I was closing in on 5th as we approach T1 and I take the inside. He cuts hard to the left trying to take the apex but I assume didn't realize that my nose was already there. He bumps me almost into the barrier but I save it until the GT-R come through on the inside and bumping me while I'm trying to get back on the track and sends me in to the next barrier where I stop cold.

It was a fun race and consider it a racing incident so I'm not mad at him. But my favorite move of the race was on lap 7 and the cut back I pulled on turn 4...

FYI: If you are having issues with replays causing a crash and not showing the full race, you may need to delete some. After I deleted a few replays, the next ones saved and played without issues...

See you out on the track!

I will say I am little happy with the new collision physics update. Cars dont go flying from the a small bump which is good because Interlargos was very aggressive but very close racing from P2 down to P10. Qualified 5th worked up to a battle for 2nd mid race, last few laps got a 1 second penalty for bumping the car ahead even tho he slowed down way too much mid corner for me to do anything about it. Lost a few spots but stay in the top 5 from other cars serving penalties on the last lap and was in a battle to the finish for 4th but NSX doesnt have the power for uphill acceleration so ended the race in 5th. Actually had fun racing on this track.

Yeah, that was a bush league move on my part, sorry about that. Getting wrecked on lap one really set me off, and the chance for revenge came faster than I was able to calm down.

I need to stop plebbin qually at some point to have a decent shot at a podium. Most of the race went well. It's just that passing in my car isn't easy due to the lack of horsepower in the WRX. So I had to be a bit bold while overtaking when I could do it.

Race 14 - Interlagos - Race Edit 11 minutes

Time for Brazil again ! Interlagos is my favorite track. Starting 7th on the grid with a goal to reach at least 4th. This is a full on brawl with Hard tires that will last the whole lap and no fuel stops needed. Let the dance begin !

Enjoyed your video. Good result. Fun to see @Lewmatic up there too, but bummer that penalty dropped him back. Well done. Didn’t realize the Interlagos race was set up as a no-stop sprint… maybe more amenable to clean racing and sorted out results, then again maybe not. Missed both FIA races this weekend away from home, would have liked to check out that spec Z race.

Haven't felt like posting for a while as my motivation to try to have a bit of fun with the championship has decreased a lot, but lately I've just been sitting on my nations cup score as top 16 appearances are almost guaranteed for me from here on in given how dead it is in Oceania, it's the opposite of dead in manufacturer series and I don't think I can recover to make it back to the top 16 races, I switched to Aston after the Mazda update thinking I would have a chance but it seems a little too far for me.

With the Gr4s at Interlagos was stuck in a 3 way battle for 4th early on, one I've raced with a few times before driving the new Mazda and someone I never raced with in the Scirocco, in the heavy braking zones the Scirocco driver would bump me from behind and I would then tap the Mazda, and this happened a few times so I changed to ultra defensive driving borderline brake checking which the Scirocco driver ended up half punting me in the slow section, I actually clawed my way back but couldn't make a pass on the final corner and had to settle for 6th, in hindsight I should've just let them go and get them on tyre wear later but I was too aggro to think at the time.

No results to post, but I had a lot of fun racing at Tokyo with my DNA bois. Congrats on your win @Mistah_MCA .

Here's a clip of when you try to work together during a qualifying but totally blow it.

In the final race we managed to setup a rotating 4 man DNA train and we took 4 of the top 6 spots on the grid.

I actually own one of these cars so I had a chance to run my personal livery.

I really need to start getting some 200+ point finishes. I've got 3 finishes of 190 or better (1 in Nations and 2 in Manufacturers), but have yet to clear 200 points (even though I did it 3 times in Nations in the last exhibition season - which was supposed to be part of the real season), and now many of the people I usually get matched with are ahead of me in the points. I might decide to go for 200 or Bust at DT Gardens this week. If only they hadn't removed the 1st 10 races from the "real" season...

I'm definitely going 200+ or bust, at least for manufacturer.... 190s isn't leaving much room in the standings. Only 3 Chevrolet drivers in the top 140 compared to Porsche having 23 drivers

170s is probably enough to get top 140 in the Nations though.

What's the strategy for DT? 10M/8H?
After watching few replays from previous gr3 races at DT looks like mid 1:31s will be good enough for podiums.

Funnily enough, I'm the 4th-ranked Chevy driver (North America) and ranked 141st . Hence why I need to start racking up the 200-pointers!

I forgot what times I did in my race simulation runs, but I was planning to do a 12M/6H or 13M/5H.
