Funnily enough, I'm the 4th-ranked Chevy driver (North America) and ranked 141st . Hence why I need to start racking up the 200-pointers!

I forgot what times I did in my race simulation runs, but I was planning to do a 12M/6H or 13M/5H.

I went thru entire top 140 and wrote down what manufacturers had what. Porsche more than doubles next top manufacturers, lol. No surprise GT shows Porsche some love.

I watched some old replays of top split guys Outlaw Quadrant, luckily he was in a Ford GT LM from back in January and they were putting down 1:31s couple of laps high 1:30s on Mediums. I hot lapped it 1:30.800 but struggling get consistent 1:31s under race conditions.

I was thinking that as well but I've been playing since January and I don't think the Ford GT has ever really been messed with? Can't remember, always feels the same to me as back then. Just something to go off of though.

You're 0.2s ahead of my quickest lap at the moment, so you should be sitting pretty well for a decent finish if you're in a DR A or mixed DR A/A+ room.

My balls aren't big enough to hit that apex in reverse, lol!!!! Doing DT original and I'll hit it every time but something about that track in reverse that apex is brutal. There is no just manhandling your car over that thing at least in the GT.

Probably a little misguided but I'm really looking forward to the race tomorrow - if I can negotiate the first 20s without incident! I'm very happy with my no-stop pace and consistency so we'll see if I can nail a qualy lap for once

With the apparent abundance of '16 GT-Rs, the nature of the track and starting procedure the start could be mayhem. It wouldn't surprise me if someone started last and was in the top six after T1. Plus I think there will be quite a few (including me) doing starts with TC off, get it wrong and you're getting t-boned before you get going!

What's the strategy for DT? 10M/8H?
After watching few replays from previous gr3 races at DT looks like mid 1:31s will be good enough for podiums.

On record, I always lose time around the sausage curb chicane. That said, I did one quick test for race pace with my GT-R. Hards are useless as they were at Willow. Ideal pace is probably mid to low 30s for top guys but consistently hitting 31 and under for the entire stint should be okay. I did notice fuel was a small issue as I couldn't rev 100%.

I assume you're referring to the right-hander with the sausage curb that starts the chicane? Yeah I always steer well clear of that corner. Even going the "forwards" way, I'm not brave or consistent enough to try to cut that curb in anything faster than a Gr. 4 car.

I noticed you stayed away from that curb the entire race, I plan to do the same! Thanks for posting your replays you're not of this world man really killing it. Great info on the times it helps, I ain't hitting 1:30s maybe a lap and I don't even want to talk about fuel, that'll become an issue.

Yessir, that's the one. Death chicane little brother, lol. What's crazy is it's doable going the opposite direction I've gapped a bunch of cars doing this as they try and follow my line.

I did two manufacturers practice races last night and used a strategy of running the whole race on Mediums and pitting for Hards on the final lap, and taking no fuel. Not sure if this is the best strategy as the person I was running with used the same idea. I was able to run consistent 1:31s into 1:32s for the entire race though. May need to try a strategy of going flat out and pitting halfway to see how it times out.

Fastest lap in the '16 Super GT 500 in Free Practice is 1:31.9, and when fuel saving in a lobby I'm only able to get around the mid-1:33s to low 1:34s (without draft and with a no-stop). I'm not sure if everyone will be going for the no-stop or not, so I'm not sure if the slower times will payoff in the end or not, but I figure Fuji's pit loss is pretty big due to how long the main straight is, right?

But Gr. 2 cars on Racing Hards just feel terrible to me. They go from having grip to sliding so quick which not only means the rear can fly out but the front can understeer into oblivion, too. Probably not going to be a great Nations race but at least I get to finally show off my Speed King/Jintei livery.

Full on, I'm having to pit on lap 11 with maybe .4 laps remaining. Have a feeling we will see a most people going the pit route. I'm going to pit. Just feel that loss time from fuel racing will cost more time. The trick is to make sure you're not taking tires, which I feel some might try (or forget to uncheck the box).

Been following @Mistah_MCA's ghost, and while still 1.6 seconds off his time (w/ a 1:32.404), it's only 2 corners where I'm losing time (T6 & T10). Plus, I'm wondering if that's due to picking the Lexus rather than the META GT-R.

I'm wondering if that's due to picking the Lexus rather than the META GT-R.

I had a go in the Lexus and really liked it, then jumped into the GT-R and was just a couple of tenths quicker on average so have stayed with it. Unfortunately don't get the time to extensively test the cars but the Lexus is a close match even if it's not quite on the same level

If you do pit for fuel, having a shorter stop is going to pay dividends so people will want to save as much fuel as they can. In that regard it could be a slightly strange race for ten laps or so as people would rather have a slipstream than be the leader (unless they can pull away). Tyre management will also come into it

Seemed okay while tyres were wearing.

I pushed it and the back didn't want to step out. I really dislike the MR cars, but was gifted this. Had no idea the GT-R was the car to have.

@Ashthebash Only made two spots on the last lap. One player binned it and I caught up. The other must have had a big penalty.
The NSX did feel good. I put fresh tyres on Lap 6. Had 52% in the tank. One of the GT-Rs pit same lap, had 55%. I'll go again.

Edit: This makes it look even worse! How the hell did he get Pole position with driving like this!!!

Had issues with both major players in that video before, although not necessarily dirty like that revenge punt, but usually aggressive moves involving way more contact than they need to, or simply running you off on exit as they pass when you give them space. 2 reasons I feel I am just not cutthroat enough for the lobbies I end up in.
Still undecided about tonight as Fuji was a major 🤬 show last weekend along with the FIA races. Combine them and I might just be pissed off at the end far more than it is worth.

My first and only shot at nations tonight, started 16th after only getting one lap down in qualifying (kept getting stuck in traffic on my out laps). A crazy first lap to say the least, and Im up 9 positions, which is where I stayed .

Yikes, but I must admit I didnt know the ones bashing everyone

I'll have my own carnage. I have entered in the Lexus. Starting p18. P9 is only 0.3 faster qually. Tight packed field from p7 back. Going to be bumpy.

AND RESULTS!
Total carnage turn 1 sees me go from p18 to p6, although I get 3 sec from someone bumping my side as they straighten out. After that I am still p11. Spent most race hovering there to p8. Then I pit end of lap 10. Drop to p14, but another pits amd someone else crashes out. Come home to p12 and 90 points to up my Nations score by another 15.
Lost 23 SR though. Almost all in lap 1. Parking at the back of race C for a run just to touch it up a little. Will edit video of start and put it up.

I still hate the uphill chicane. Totally terrible.

I will go for a different car and a bit of a different race idea. Tested it last evening in our private league and I was really close to make it stick(finished 7th but distance to 4th was just 0.2s - If I would have saved a bit more fuel during the race to have the last lap at full power it would have worked for sure).

I will choose the Nissan '08, I know it is a bit harder on tyres and fuel, but it is still manageable. Hopefully I will get a decent quali, start in p5-p6, launch it in top3 at the start(advantage '08 here) and then try to save as much as possible while keeping a decent pace.

Preface, I don't like Gr2 or Fuji that much.

Jumped in late for slot 2 with the '16 GTR. Was pretty forgettable and finished 2nd last after 2 penalties and smashing the pit entrance.

Slot 3. Tried the '08 GTR. Started 8th, got a great start and was P3 after Turn 1. Ended up finishing P4 after stopping for fuel only. Should have zero-stopped but wasn't really fast enough to make it work.

Finally getting some decent results together after disconnect issues seem fixed. But very difficult to get into T16 after 3 races already.

Side note. PD should ditch the country requirement for Superstars races. Currently 40th overall in region here gets a slot in superstars race but 14th, 15th and 16th do not. Not the way it should be IMO.

It's a scary one for sure. In Gr4 last week it wasn't too bad but after a few practice goes in Gr3 it's terrifying. I slow down and tap the brake a little so that I get the entry right and so far I've been okay. I think it's better to be slightly cautious, particularly if, like me, you're not anywhere near to the top drivers, as you can collect a good few positions through that section due to people pinballing themselves. Also with mechanical damage turned on you can completely ruin your race so it's best to be safe than very sorry.

Well that's enough to confirm that I won't be partaking in the Nations Cup today. Fuji brings out the worst in people.

I think my Turn 1 incident might trump everyone else's here:



Now, in my defence, that Calsonic had run into someone else, leaving me with nowhere to go.



Even with my stroke of good luck at Turn 1, I knew my pace wasn't good enough to stay ahead, and 2 cars eventually caught up to me. Then this incident occurred:



I honestly wasn't expecting to get rammed at this corner, and the (probably unintentional) rammer briefly fell behind for a while.

Those 2 cars eventually got past me, but both went on to make serious mistakes:

aki-5691 (2nd) - Pitted at end of lap 9 for tyres and no fuel. He could have simply done a no-stop race and not bother with a pit stop.

Jonny-mgs (1st) - Pitted at end of lap 10 for fuel, but spun out at Turn 15 on the out lap, buying me enough time to finish my lap 11 fuel stop and stay ahead.

3 laps later, I take the checkered flag 6.5 seconds ahead, bemused at the fact that neither of my rivals had caught up to me.

So I won the race from 16th because of a massive Turn 1 incident, everyone trying to kill each other in the first few corners and the 2 drivers that stood a good chance of beating me both screwing up royally.
