Finally back into the Gr3 cars, I'm pretty slow at Fuji historically but I was determined to put it all together yesterday. Entered the first slot and put down a qualifying lap of 1:39:7xx with no slipstream, 2/10ths from pole to put me 5th for grid start.

Ford GT is kind of a monster at Fuji, had a good battle with a Corvette and Supra majority of the race, likely I should have got past both of them considering I managed to close a 2 second gap. However the pole sitter who had found himself in 4th I found out later, power went out going into T2 leaving me no where to go but into his rear end and my SR down arrow when the computer took over and threw the hazards on just feet in front of me.

That allowed the Corvette and Supra to gap me while I came to a dead stop and I lost the slipstream. Meanwhile my nice cushion over 5th about 3 seconds turned into 1 second and allowed the Lexus to catch my slipstream. Eventually I pulled myself and the Lexus around the track catching up to the bumper of the Corvette & Supra, made a move neither expected on final turn lap 15 and drag race down the stretch and settled back into 4th to finish the race.

One and done in the GT LM once again... I really wanted to race again but took the points, 171 my 3rd highest on the season which puts me back into 5th for Ford in North America. I don't see myself putting up any points at Red Bull and Nurburgring is always a gamble for me. Hoping my 30 point cushion over 6th is good enough at seasons end. I'd sure hate to lose out to star player again on final week :banghead:

Good to see @GTWolverine in my slot never saw him in the race but glad to see your DR bounced back quickly!

Ok guys, looking for some advice here because I think I'm hitting a wall when it comes to pace, evidenced if you take a gander at my KudosPrime stats and see I've been oscillating +/- 400DR for the past 5 days. Examples of my driving can be found in my YouTube videos linked in my signature. I know braking is something I can work on, but even after watching Tidgney's Racing School and being a lot more aware of how I brake, I feel like it's not enough.

Manufacturers felt like a waste because I feel like I was put into a split or two higher than my actual ability, since I was Door #19 and half of the lobby were A+ drivers, meaning at minimum, they were at least 4700 DR higher than me. This is the 4th FIA race where this has happened, so I don't know if not enough people are taking place causing this matchmaking, or these are the lobbies I'm stuck in now. Regardless, if I keep being put into lobbies like this, all of these races are worthless now because I'll only really be able to fight for the bottom 10 positions which won't give useful points. So it's like either I need to find at least 0.5s of pace or tank my DR to fall back into lower splits if I want to actually be competitive.

Rant over, as I said above, this race felt like a waste. My slipstream quali lap was ruined by the guy in front running wide and then coming back onto track right in front of me, giving me an SR down and a 2 second penalty, so I went back to the pits with only 6 mins in the session left. I ended up running all of quali without slipstream because of the scattered pack and because my quali lap I felt was slower than what I could do, which was probably a mistake, but oh well, 14th place is what I got.

More detailed race report will come with the video upload, but it was topsy-turvy. T1 was surprisingly orderly, and I could keep up with a group that had up to 8th place, but once they started breaking away, combined with me having to defend and also making mistakes, meant I just kept slipping back. Luckily I finished 12th, but for only 132 points, which won't help my scores at all.

Sounds a lot like my experience lately. It's been a wild ride up 60k DR down to 43k DR over couple of weeks. I know I missed out on some good results just due to being in lobbies I probably had no business being in. Sure, 100+ points for last is great to some but I'd rather be in competitive lobbies.. slowly trying to find my place with my racing peers. 40-50k DR seems to be the sweet spot for myself. 60k+ the lobbies seemed brutal bunch of aliens. Some of the best races I've been apart of in the 6 months or so I've been playing just couldn't keep the pace. Doesn't help when you're too nice during racing those guys, thinking damn I don't want to screw someone up since their fighting for real points and top 10s in manufacturer.

Of course I'm doing myself no favors at all running cars like 17' GT against META xbows and racing gr4 races I really can't stand. I just love racing too much to sit out and only compete at tracks I'm good at.

Did the last 2 slots for Manu race. First race I got put into a lobby with all D/S drives since my SR was at 86. Got pole by 3 seconds. Took the win for a whopping 23 points! Thankfully that race brought my SR back up to 99.

Last slot I got put into a proper lobby with GTWolverine. Qualified 4th with no slip. First couple laps was me falling back to 7 or 8th. Not doing well with cold tires. Finished 6th but need at least 4th or higher for points to count. I'll take the positive DR gain though.

Race 18 at Fuji - Race Edit : 8 minutes
Starting in 10th was ok, but I needed 5th or better to improve on point standings.
Well, I did an unforced mistake but the upside was that I got to chase @KosmoKazi in his white Porsche.
(@KozmoKazi - when I looked at the replay, it did not look that there was any bad intent from the Peugeot that you collided with. Look at it. Later that lap I had a very clean side by side race with him)

Looking forward to watching your race replay! And yeah, I know he didn’t “intend” to hit me, but he came right back on the racing line and did hit me, and then with a chance to concede the spot chose not to, even though his mistake meant I lost a spot. So it was poor sportsmanship… but in the array of things that happen in GT Sport: not THAT terrible.

I would have dove clearer to the inside to avoid him but that turn is my worst spot (you noticed I’m sure!) and I knew if I went deep inside I would either hit you or for sure would have no chance to defend the run you’d have off the apex… so it was just “one of those” things. And I was sure I could catch him again, as his tires seemed to be going off, but I ran out of laps.

It was fun racing with you and I’m glad to hear that you weren’t the victim of foul play to have ended up behind me in the first place. We had a good duel, the lap times were consistent and I was sure it would come down to the last lap no matter what happened.

Hope to catch you in another race sometime!

Well, for today's Manufactures race, I got a better result than I expected considering I only did 30 minutes of practice. I usually put in at least an hour and a half for FIA races.

A small part of me wants to go again but with Fuji being pretty infamous for turn 1 chaos, nothing is guaranteed, so this is going to be it for me. As I hoped, the Gr. 3 Huracan felt pretty good around this track. It was just down to being smooth with throttle inputs, and high speed courses like Fuji suit it best for sure.

Next weekend: doing Nations, hands down. I've been wanting a race on St. Croix C for quite some time. The Manufacturers race being on Nürburgring 24h makes this especially an easy choice. That track is just trouble in my experience, at least in Gr. 3 cars.

I had you behind me for quite a while in the Hiortintexas McLaren.

I’m thinking of starting on hards for the next Manufacturers Series round at RBR short, and then seeing where I end up when I pit for fuel. Maybe I’ll just put on another set of hards at that point, who knows?

I'm going to do some magic and show you my upcoming Fuji qualifying and race sessions. Suspiciously looks like many other of my qualifying and race sessions...

Call me Nostradamus. I tried to get slipstream during qualifying and only got some of it before I lost it. I didn't really have a chance regardless because everyone showed up on what should've been the easiest slot. I did hang on to the second pack but just barely.

Tried all I could to manage the throttle in Sector 3 but the mapping made it so hit and miss. 👎

Here’s a replay of the final slot for last night’s top split race at Fuji. I missed the draft in qualifying but managed to start in P7. Had a great battle with Lester and Jmag for the bottom two positions of the podium.

Great driving by you guys, really enjoyable to watch. 👍

Hi everybody! Yesterday I did little practice for gr1 Laguna Seca. R18 '16 first, did 1.10.1xx, optimal 1.09.8xx. 2nd gear understeer is killing me, bb+3 to recharge hybrid little more also doesnt help in the Corckscrew:)
Next I took TS050, after 3 laps I beat Audi time... After couple of laps more I managed to set 1.09.3xx with optimal 1.08.9xx which I think is good on my level. I really hope to get good result on Tuesday. 110-120 pts is my goal. Ill do all slots until I reach it:)

Not unless you and your car absolutely murder your tyres. Did a lobby yesterday and it was a no stopper on softs - but with quite significant fuel saving. I think a one stop for tyres and a splash will probably be quicker but can't see much point using the hards. Mediums on a no stop/no tyre change maybe, but not hards

I was in the Cayman, and had to shift at around 50-55% of the bar being full to be able to no-stop it on the Softs. Most of my laps were in the 52's, some poking into the 53's at the end, so I'm thinking it's a definite no-stopper here.

I’m a bit disappointment the next Manu race is at the short version of Red Bull Ring. I really like the full version and didn’t even know there was a short version until yesterday. Still, at least we don’t have to do that hairpin which is a hot spot for rammers.

I see the last Manu race of the current season is at the Nurburgring. Does anyone know if this is the GP circuit or the Nordschleife? I hope it’s the latter.

Both. It's the 24h layout.

I’m not feeling terribly optimistic about the weekday races. My Custom Race practice today at Laguna Seca involved plenty of excursions and I’m not sure of my pit strategy (maybe 12M-12H?). As for Manufacturers, I’m trying to run an Alfa at a glorified speedway. That is probably not going to end well, even though I can do a Soft fuel-saving race.

It's RBR short so it's a lot less straight to cover

Any idea what time of day this Saturdays race at Nurburgring 24h will be? Been practicing during night time, really hope it's a night race! May be a little early to talk strategy but definitely need to save some fuel.. I can't even make it around the track for my outlap/flying lap without running out of fuel. Got my fuel savings down to around 2-1/2 laps though after few runs, 2M-1H.

I was considering skipping the next Manufacturer's race since this reminds me of the short layout of Maggiore, and the Corvette seemed to struggle there (in both Gr.3 and Gr. 4 guise), but then I saw a Corvette in 8th on the NA leaderboard...

As for Nations, I'm REALLY looking forward to the next 2 races, unfortunately I'll only have time for the final slot (maybe the final 2) for Tuesday's race, so I'll have to be flawless, but if I can do that I think I'll be in for a good points haul. Saturday's race features literally my favorite car in this game, which I've never finished off the podium with (in either FIA or Daily races), but I've never driven that track aside from the Circuit Experience so I've got a lot of learning to do...

Are we in 3rd stage now?

We are in the 2nd stage until after Nurburgring this Saturday.. then 3rd stage starts up. Speaking of, wheres the schedule for this? Could have swore I had a schedule with stage 2 track/car combos before stage 1 ever ended.

My first season though so idk maybe they give you the option to start over with new manufacturer after each stage. Maybe Sunday you can pick a new one?

Damn, no more Manu for 2 months then I guess. Lots of time for ACC then. Thanks for the info. :)
