Spa is in the wet? DOH. I was hoping to do well there but that’s out.
I might be done for the season, I don’t care for the Scirroco combo...

Did the SLS come in last?! Absolute bag of 🤬 that car is since the update!

I do wonder how the SLS Group 4 is so bad when the AMG GT3 is so good at everything.

The SLS Gr4 lost 1s per lap since BOP update
(the gearbox ratio is crap , the 6th is useless)

The AMG GT3 is just solid everywhere, not really META anywhere but you can always get a good result. The SLS was a decent car pre-update, not as solid as the GT3 but had good tyre wear so was ok once it came to the race - I'd have said very similar to the GT86. The last update probably hit the SLS harder than most. Not necessarily the 1% weight increase (maybe quarter of a second on an average length lap?), but most other cars had either an improvement or less of a handicap and it's hit the SLS really badly as a result. People just aren't bothering with the Gr.4 races with it and I don’t blame them

Could just be Wong Baguette's (Beauvois) fault for winning the series!

The SLS Group 4 is pretty mediocre.

A hopeless night in the SLS. 3 attempts, each worse than the last. Lost 2,000 DR in the process. One step forward, 2 steps back.

Really struggled in the SLS tonight.

It's official the SLS was actually the slowest car on track at brands. Lowest scores average from the S/A+ drivers.

It still feels ok to drive, then you cross the line, see the lap time and wonder what the hell happened!!

As much as I love Spa I think I'll give the Manu a miss tomorrow. I've not put a huge amount of practice in but my best lap time in the AMG is 2:47.2, which 7-8 seconds off the top guys who are all using MR cars. The only way I can get it around the track safely is with TCS 2, which is hugely limiting my exit speeds at times. I'll do the first Nations slot and if I do well then I may give it a go, but it's unlikely.

The grid start helps both strategies. I feel starting on the RH for a couple laps with a loss around 2s per lap ( based on a couple quick laps on RH), it allows a shorter run on RM after a second stop. Tyres should be better than anyone pitting for RH on last lap and would still allow for running in fresh air and people on the faster tyre. Might not be held up much, as those cars have to pit.

One stop helps, because everyone will be bunched up at the start, bar T1 incident. RM starters might have slight premature wear from the standing start.

There may also be players that don't tune the car as wear sets in.

Oh, in the average A or B rated room it'll be a mess. Luckily it is a short race, as by lap 2 or 3, I'm expecting the field to be spread out by incidents.

Which is the problem! It's a wet weather race. With such a random thing as the weather is, how is PD and the FIA allow it to be planned months in advance? I will stand on my soapbox once again, but this time call for the boycott. You allow for 3-4 days of practice. Meaning anyone can practice for hours, which like we will see in the top rated races, essentially eliminating any monkey wrench rain could throw in a race.

After doing about 40 mins of practice for each race tonight, I can sum both up with one picture:

One and done.

2:08.599 for pole. Good start on RH. Had a nice gap ahead of P2. Pit Lap 1. Near last. Some traffic and passing.

It's fine until someone makes a mistake. Others get impatient. Cars behind me, barge past me. Some get penalties, etc.

Pit for another set of RM. Set FL. Held up a bit as I make it up to P7. P6 slowing at all the apexes. Slows even more at the exit of T1. I bump it towards the marbles. 1 second for me with 2 laps to go.

Drop a spot after the PZ. Race over. No biggie.

Well the VW Cup race was largely uneventful for me.

Ranked #12 in the group and qualified down in 14th.

Made up 4 spots off the line due to a stronger start than those directly in front of me. Managed to avoid any major penalties during the mid pack shoving through turns 1 to to the Turn 11 Hairpin. Did pick up one for cutting Turn 8 too soon however.

Ran solidly on the mediums until Lap 5 where I pitted from 8th. Rejoined back in 11th and then set about setting consistent laps on the Hards to the finish in 9th place. Had a good but brief battle for what would have been 7th place, but didn't have the overall pace to keep the place.

You can stretch it to 8, but you'll be in a world of hurt. As usual, traffic and impatience are the enemies.

I found in a few tests I could get to about lap 8 before I saw my times drop off on the mediums. Is that what you guys where seeing? Or do I need to think about 2 stopping?

When I tested it yesterday I was able to do only 6 laps on mediums before times start to drop dramaticly... Pit is about 10s, lap on hards is about 1,2s worse in my case... I dont know
I gonna try onestopper for first try..

Aww, man. Now this one sucked. Moved up to 3rd by Lap 2. Got a penalty, but still was able to pull away for a big enough gap when I entered the PZ.

From there, paced myself in P3, with each lap being faster than my last. An RSR moves up to 4th. I'm still pulling away from it after I have a drop in pace.

End of Lap 7, car didn't pull up. I go off extremely slow at the final turn. I bound the exit kerb with care, to not come out in the way of the RSR.
Freakin' Tyres kept spinning while I set TCS and the car is bogging while TCS is activated. Lose mad spots.

Battle the AMG swapping places on the last lap. It passes me at the downhill right. I pass me after the straight. I pass it right back on the downhill right. Run to the finish. Well, back to Race C.

Well the Spa Ice Rink race is done for me now.

Got seeded #2 (who knows how or why on this), Qualified down in 10th.

Got caught up in someones dive bomb attempt at the end of the 1st lap at Bus Stop giving me a 4 second penalty. That aside from another 1 seconds for tapping a car (slid into them with no grip) and .5 second penalties for track limits (recovering from an off), I managed to keep it largely on the racing surface and crossed the line in 7th.

Nothing special happened in my manufacturers race especially you were driving a FR car and all cars in front of you were MRs lol just drove slow and steady and went to the finish line in p7. Neither went up nor down, just stay safe and enjoy the race lol

It was a bit shocked when i saw i qualified in p7 and beat a few MR cars tho

Oh yea i love my snoopy corvette soooooo much hahaha

Earlier race - qualified 11 which I was happy in a mainly B field. Made a poor start, but was finished off by some pretty well-timed bumps by lap 6.

Second attempt tonight and my first FIA win!!!!!! Hell yeah!!! Started on mediums, got a decent start, timed my pit-stop well, any mistakes were relatively inexpensive and all up very happy! Highlight vid should be pretty good!

I quite like the Scirocco, I'm not sure why. No chance I'm touching a wet race in the GT-R though.

Does anyone know why there are never Gr.4 races in the wet? Is it because it would really show up how stupid the different drivetrains are?

I'm likely just going to do these next two rounds for the Nations Cup (Scirocco Gr.4 @ Suzuka, and N800 @ SSRX) and then just do Manufacturers Series rounds. I'm just not interested in the rounds that come after those two for the Nations Cup, so I'm hoping I can get back into the top 300 for the USA and/or the top 400 for the USA and Canada. God, I hate Tsukuba - at least in anything above N200 or its Gr.X equivalents. Not a fan of trying to reel in the X2019, either.

Also, tonight's Gr.3 @ Spa-Francorchamps race in the wet looks like it could be fun. Might gain some easy positions just from driving carefully.

Spa should be entertaining tonight. I'm pretty low DR so the first few turns are going to be chaos - La Source into Eau Rouge/Raidillon, in the rain? I imagine I'll gain a few positions just from finishing the race.
