Out of left field... I feel part of my frustration with Mazda, are my personal feelings towards the brand in motorsport.

Mazda have done so much in the past, BTCC, Sports Cars, IMSA GT/GTU, grassroots/MX-5, etc. While many manufacturers tapped into global GT3/GT4/WTC-BTCC-TCR series, Mazda had not budged. Yes, there were a few recent independent offerings: Global Touring Car chassis Mazda3 V8s, Super Taikyu MX-5s, Demios and Mazda3/Axela, Chinese Touring Car Mazda6/Atenza. The TCR program gave me hope Mazda would finally come mainstream.

The LMP program is still going on, but Mazda don't have a super car to kind of represent their road car line up. I'm saying the same way Nissan, Toyota and Honda do.

It's another reason why I switched a lot to Lexus, Ford and BMW. Mainly, for each brand's real GT3 & GT4 models in those categories.

Anyway, I really am looking forward to this season. No matter what I choose to drive.

I'm loving that the Manufacturers races are going to be around the 40 minutes mark but.... I think the pit stops are too fast for such long races. I'm sure that 90% of the time multiple pit stops on the faster tyre will be the optimal strategy. The multipliers are low so maybe it won't be so bad, but I can see 3 or more pit stops often being the way to go.

We do have Laguna Seca though and that has a painfully slow pit stop so maybe that even things out

Well, ended up with Mercedes! Based on sound, how much I liked the cockpit, and well giving it a quick spin as well!

Also fits nicely with needing to have a proper go at the Hamilton DLC, Mclaren F1 moving back to Mercedes engines, and cars that are in ACC - given I want to buy that at some point for offline play.

I enjoyed VW last season, but I am going to give Lexus a try this season. The Beetle and Scirocco are quite different from each other, and this time I wanted a Gr3/Gr4 combo that had similar cars to each other. I've used these in some recent Nations and Daily races and they are comfortable for me to drive. Maybe more importantly, my NASCAR liveries fit well on these cars :):

Might just go for Mazda. The Gr.4 is impossible to spin out, which is nice for someone like me who isn't good and will lose control of RWD cars on any and every corner.

Then I just need to decide between the Atenza, which is rather stable and powerful, and the RX-VISION, which is much harder to drive but also has a rotary engine.

Wait... is this right?

・Wednesdays: 17:00, 18:20, 19:40, 21:00, 22:20 PDT (five races in total.)
・Saturdays: 15:00, 16:20, 17:40, 19:00, 20:20 PDT (five races in total.)

This means first slot in the US is 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time?!? And last one is 1:20 AM? That can't be... Anyone else notice this? Is it likely a mistake? These would correspond to the prior EDT starting times, from the last season. So they moved them all to start 3h later than last season?!

It does look like this is right, though, as the 'Calendar' page in GT Sport (online, didn't check on the PS4) shows the event window opening up at 7:45 PM... That stinks...

Yep I noticed that the Wednesday slots were way later. Probably to open more availability to those on the West Coast. Either way I'll still be able to do 3 rounds if need be, just like the previous season.

Damn, that means first slot is 9pm for me, that’s getting late on a week night.

Barring any last minute BoP changes, I'll be racing with Dodge this season. Hopefully I'll be able to participate and have time to practice strategy, since the school semester has started and I won't be able to cheat using @Mistah_MCA 's guides for race strategy this season. But, I got my liveries made up for the Vipers, again modeled after my school's Formula SAE car.

Anyone have tips on how to drive the Veyron Gr. 4 for the upcoming Nations race? I'm having difficulty finding a way to reliably rotate it, since sometimes it just understeers when I ease off the brakes, while other times it actually starts to turn-in. It seems like rotating off-throttle is the best way, but I'm not sure if that's just me or not.
