Crap penalty for sure. I got hit off into the apex from that same position, knocked into the gravel by that Corvette in my picture, and he got no penalty. Cost me two positions most likely. And he’d already hit me from behind, sending me offline to set up that second hit. Penalty system is a sham and it robbed you there, especially on a great pass.

I don't feel too bad after seeing Basic Ollies video

Quite enjoyed the first Exhibition Manu race. Exact same scenario as the T16 race where I had a bad starting spot because -shocker - no slip for qualifying. When I saw the type of cars ahead of me, went H/M/S/S feeling I would get held up more trying to stay with the lead pack. Got lucky with smart drivers in the midpack and was only held up at the very end. Given I saved fuel and two hours of practice at most, my pace was quite good.

Put timestamps in the description given it's a long race. Check out Erckie's reaction at the end. He never saw me coming.

Side note: Anyone used to me streaming races on YT, I'm trying out Twitch for the exhibition.

Manu was tough this time around! I'm usually fairly good at making it through the death chicane but not this time around! Did 4 out of 5 slots. 1st and 2nd race I finished outside the top 10 from hitting the chicane. 3rd race was my best race until I came into the pits on the last lap for hards. I was in 4th behind wolverine. Went to select hards and because the logitech d pad has 360 degree rotation I pressed down on the d pad a little by accident as I was clicking "x" for my tire change. So no tire change, came out in 3rd ahead of wolverine and basically gave up right there. Pulled to the right for the first corner and let him by because I was going to get a 1 min penalty. Should of had like 230 points that race but I went from 4th on the last lap to 14th after everyone crossed the line. And 4th race was no good either. Rattled from the previous race.

So that's what happened! It was great racing you (at least I think I raced you - I fought with so many people on different strategies that race that it was hard to keep track ). I think that was the second slot though, not the 3rd one. I only did the first 2 slots that night and all of that happened in my 2nd race. Shame you had that issue at the end.

I always like your edited videos the best... nice work. Good qualifying time- it made all the difference in this race. I really like racing at DTS. Track position was so key. In hindsight the decision to start on the H's was so wrong for me, I would have been able to move up to 10th or so if I had started on S's and stayed in the draft in the first two stints, before some separation from the cars behind. But the Porsche was not up to catching up from behind. I wish I had time to run the race on the Alt account, it would have been good to see what I could do in one of the Power cars... Chevrolet is leading the global standings!

Thanks for the feedback ! I really enjoy doing the editing.
When it comes to strategy, I have also tried the reverse strategy when starting back in the field were you use the slower compounds first, but I'm not sure that is the right thing.
I rather get up a head a bit and then keep on fighting. As you saw in the video, the guy ending up third were on old softs and could not reach me on my new hard tires. My key to the podium was that I did not have to fuel. It was good to see I could drive the Gr3 McLaren like that.

Too many bad races to remember where they all landed hahah. We battled a couple times on track. They didn't last too long though. I think we were on different tires every time.

Does anyone have a good strategy yet for the upcoming Nation's Cup race?

Yes, qualify well and don't mess up the weird chicane. Run the race today in our private league and it killed me, I clipped just a bit the grass on the exit and spun stopping facing the wall. Till I got it facing the right direction again I lost about 22s from the leaders. I finished in P10 a race that I should finished around the podium places.

The race is a no stopper in my opinion, the left front tyre will die in the last 2-3 laps but as long as you are able to notice understeer and do a slight lift in the right handers and esses, should be fine.

Manufacturers on Saturday was a similar story to round 1 of Nations, ok quali but poor race, probably should've started on softs but either way had no confidence through the death chicane during the race. Monza should be a good combo but it'll probably be a lottery

I was on track to do alright at Seaside, but i got turned around at lap 4 which sent me to the back. Luckily, the mighty Nissan must have been in the mood for a recovery drive, because it got straight to work reeling in the competition!!

After running a practice distance test and a practice race for tomorrow, I think the no-stop will be the optimal strategy.

When lapping by myself, I didn't get a massive drop-off in tire performance until the last 2 laps or so, so I don't believe you lose too much time staying on the worn tires.

In the practice race, towards the end, the driver right behind me pitted at the end of lap 9 and came out around 7.5s back, so the pit time loss is going to be around that much. They were able to catch back up and pass both me and the leader (it was just us 3 at the end), but not until after S2 of the final lap, and before they caught back up to us they had open track to essentially just hot-lap and not have any traffic slowing them up. Again, I didn't really have a huge drop off in tires until the last two laps or so.

Yay. So my Nations could get ugly. Some friendly faves, @Raptor013 , but some enemy types. Door 1, and wrecked twice and slid a lot in qually. Starting p16. 1.5 seconds slower than my warmup time.:banghead:

I sure seem to like making things harder for myself.

Edit. And it was uglyish. Horrible start. Get up a bit, then pushed into a 1 second penalty. That drops me to a 2 lap stint behind 2 roadblocks and I am p18. Finally clear them on lap 4 and play catch up. Manage to race my way back to p12, pushing for p11, but as my tires give out it drops to a battle to retain p12. Finishing lap 12 I got wide on the final turn and catch the end of the barrier there. Spin down the front straight and wallow home p17.

Garbage race in the end result, but did have some good battles. I just drove like crap. My qualifying lap had a penalty served on it! If the Nations races are going to be tire wear stresses I am going to lap at the back of almost every lobby I end up in.

Good luck to the rest of you. Clean driving and long wearing tires to you all.:yuck:

Im gonna try this one, not expecting much, cause I suck in road cars... No pressure, its only exhibition so...

I didnt have a huge amount of pressure, but was looking forward to it since I am decent at the track and have normally done great in the Mazda. I also suck at all 3 dailies this week.

I just didnt drive to half my ability tonight at any of the times it counted. Drove smooth and fast while catching up, had 6 laps in the race within 0.4 of my QT. Just a disaster qualifying session, some crap luck and a wreck at just about the worst time. Almost identical to last weeks race. Was hoping for a good Nations outing, but twas not to be.

Hoping better things for others.👍

Alrighty. Contractors have been messing around outside since Monday and they've cleared all the barricades. Hopefully, I'll get internet soon(using my phone's hot spot).

One Daily at Nurb and the second slot Nations just then. I did a stop(Lap 8) from P2, just because. Came out 5th. P1 was about 15 seconds ahead(chopped it in half by the finish).

Passed for P2 end of Lap 11. A silly 1.5s for trying not to collide with a car early braking into the tight esses. Whatever. Had purple sectors last bit of the rac, but again had to do evasive action, as P2 had early braked on worn tyres into the final turn. It took the outside to, I guess, leave me the inside.

Pole Sitter and another player collided. So, that gave P1 the win(gave the lead around Lap 3). Really hoped that player wouldn't win. I was stoked it didn't get Pole. Shame for the players that collided.

Yeah, I'm a one and done. Can't seem to get any rhythm for this track. Running it the other direction is more suited to my driving for some reason regardless of the car.

Was in the group with @Redneckchef, Qualified a lowly 14th. Got a great start and moved into 12th out of the first corner and up to 11th in the early laps.

However a series of driving errors on my part on the downhill esses cost me momentum and time. Came home in 16th.

Roll on Monza this weekend where hopefully the M4 can be more competitive than last seasons Lancer.

In my first all B FIA lobby - (and i think ranked last? Is that how the initial lobby list is ordered?), I felt I qualified pretty well (15) and performed pretty good to finish 12. I felt like it was a cleanish race at the time, but in hindsight probably not quite as clean as I thought! Happy all up though.

First lap poor form - especially not sure how I survived at the end of this clip!!

Took a hit at lap 4, but could have been worse

Didn’t quite grab another spot at the end

Was in the same lobby as @stpatty who ended up winning, Congrats!

Qualified 13th and was in the fight for 8th before being bundled out the way a couple of times. Only bad one was someone tapped me wide at the awkward chicane and got me a 1.5 second penalty which dropped me out the fight for a top 10 finish.

@Redneckchef you asked after the race what happened to me. Well below is the replay if you want to see it for yourself.

I hadn't noticed that you pitted. I was worried I had bumped you or something making that pass. You still finished ahead of me:tup::lol:

@ShiftingGears that same guy won my lobby as well. He got pole for that. Seems you pretty much got @Raptor013 and my lobby for round 3. Good driving.
