I ended up have work stuff to do during the first couple of slots, so I wasn't able to race until slot 4 last night.

It ended up alternating between extremely frustrating and extremely boring. Frustrating because during qualy I couldn't set a time to save my life. First, I got a track penalty coming out of Ascari on my out lap. Twice I got knocked off-track in the first chicane during my flying lap. I think I got a track penalty at Roggia or Lesmo at some point, as well. Either way, I ended up sitting in the lobby fuming as the final seconds ticked off and I was slotted P18.

That may have been a blessing. I was again in a wide-ranging DR lobby as my SR was still at 89 after the carnage and disconnect at Yamagiwa. If I set a qualifying time in this lobby, I was probably going to be in the neighborhood of P6-P9. And to no one's surprise, there was carnage in the mid-field at T1. I pick my way through the chaos and come out of the chicane P12. As I come up to Roggia, there's more carnage. I move up to P10. Then penalties are served and I speed past more people on my way to Ascari. I finish L1 in P8. Maybe starting in back is the way to go for this combo.

One thing I definitely learned from my practice race earlier is that there is absolutely no way I can no-stop in the Audi TT. Fuel's not an issue but if I don't look after the tires, I'm feeling the wear as early as L8. Speaking of L8, I've made up another position to P7 by now but that's when I start to lose time and a pair of cars caught up with me. I can tell they are having a much better time of it with their tires and let one go by me at Parabolica on L9 and then the other on L10. I pit for tires on L10 and end up in clean air for next several laps. This is a really boring track racing alone. I mean, I'm sure it's fun driving it for real and doing 160 mph in a straight line but for sim-racing? Meh.

A few laps later, I pass P8 when he pits in for new tires. He comes out right on my tail and we battle back and forth for a few laps. Turns out, I'm faster through Parabolica and sector 1, he's faster coming out of Roggia and Lesmo. We trade back and forth for a few laps, then he disconnects. I spend the rest of the race yawning as I lap through clean air.

P8, 53 pts and a repaired SR. Not bad considering how things started out. I guess I get plenty of time to figure out Tsukuba, as I have another work conflict with this week's Nations race.

1st time slot, split 3, I put the FF VW into p6 for the start and fell backwards as callengers in sectors 1 and 2 caused me to lose time and then get eaten alive in the last sector. FF was very fast in Sector 1 and 2 so thats where I had to make a gap. Pitted lap 10, tried to battle back up feont but missed my brake marker twice and murdered myslef, lol. P14 to finish. Ooof. Overall, was displeased with my driving. So, again I went.

2nd time slot, 3rd split again, this time I raced on the front foot. Even led for a half lap, lol. Q4 to P4, penalties played a big role in that, shoulda woulda coulda. Quick congrats to Kbonics who domonated both races.

Couldn't escape Monza turn 1 Ritual but it was some of the closest race I have so far, we were pretty much handicap in this race, since you have to over-rev the NSX to the get the maximum out of it, but that would have left us one lap short of fuel :(
So the plan was to avoid any over-rev and short shift whenever. We got a decent result tho we kinda got impatient at the end and fail to get one more POS -_- Still was engaging and fun ^_^)b

Managed to pull a quali lap out of nowhere which put me relatively high up, unfortunately I messed up T1 and was then in an awkward position into the 2nd chicane and got a penalty for cutting, and the same thing happened on lap 2. Then on lap 6 I had to take avoiding action at T1 but after that had some decent battles and managed to recover to just outside the top 10

I tried to send as a message but I couldn't send it to myself, so I just published and it showed on my feed in the app. From there just click the picture and use the save image option.

It helps to have an Alt account, have a message setup between your main and Alt, then you can send pics to yourself. Sharing in game and grabbing them from the GT app works just as well too though, I use both methods depending on what it is I’m after at the time. :)

With school starting up, I won't be as active on this forum or in game, though I'll try to enter all FIA events. Last week was plain disappointing.

Nations

The Roadster Spec race was dismal. Race 1 had me get spun out in turn 1, with a 1 second penalty to add salt to the wound. A few laps later at the slow hairpin after sector 1, I had an idiot take the outside line as if I didn't exist, sending the both of us off. I tried the no-stop since I had nothing to lose, but the utter mayhem in the bottom half of the grid and my poor tyre management left me with a disappointing 13th.

The second race pitted 4 A ranked drivers against the rest of the B ranked lobby. I qualified 14th, and got up to 9th when I pitted on lap 6. However, I ended up fighting with backmarkers, bogging me down and leaving me with another 13th place.

I got more points due to the presence of the A rankers, but it's still a far cry from the 105 I got from the Veyron race. I called it quits after that.

I was watching a concert livestream on Saturday evening, so I only entered the 4th race.

Monza was more promising, as I got into the top 10 after the mayhem of the opening laps. However, my two over-optimistic divebombs for 7th late into the race sent me off both times, costing me valuable time and allowing 11th to catch up on the final lap. I attempt a cutback on the RCZ in 9th into Parabolica, but ran into his bumper and took a 1 second penalty that dumped me out of the top 10. I only have myself to blame for the bungled divebombs and cutback. :/

I can only hope this week would go better....

Bit late to post, but oh well!

Was still deciding whether to run at Monza or not about 5 minutes before the start, but I'm glad I did. I qualified about 9th and thankfully had a gap in front of me heading into the chicane - two cars bailed out, one from the right side of the track, cutting across right in front of me.

Still didn't escape Lap 1 unscathed though - a McLaren I was fighting against shot in front of me and braked into Ascari, right at the point I accelerate out. They bounced of my bumper and span, and I received a 4 second penalty. So I had to fight back from 15th, and IMO did a good job of it. I finished 5th, and very nearly had 4th. The car in 4th had a penalty on the second last lap and was only 2 seconds ahead, but I ran wide into the sand after Lesmo and lost the gains I'd made. Still, best result so far this season!

Your commentary in the video is very entertaining. Glad I got to feature so prominently in your video! (I was equus_ferrum)

@csmirnoff Good race man! That race was so much fun that I decided to go again thinking I could farm dr. But I got spun T1 lap 1 which put me in the back with less clean drivers. So my sr went down to A. So went again in the last slot and I got a whopping 41 points for winning the last slot with D and E drivers. Lol. Should have took my 200 poonts and been done with it.

I would have really liked to have raced in the Gr4 FIAGTC race at Monza... wasn't in town, though, so had to sit it out.

Manufacturers

Qualified in 7th 0.523 of pole position with a slipstream-less lap and me being rubbish in Qualifying left me quite happy.

Lap 1 and I managed to pass the Mercedes in 6th into T1 with the help of the slipstream and a Viper as they were punted by the dark blue TT. Second chicane and I tap a dark blue TT and get a run on them on the exit only for them to try and drive me into the grass only to get past anyway. Feeling a little bad for the nudge I let them past in the next straight into Ascari. I then got the run in them again out of Parabolica where they again tried to run me of the track only for me to get past anyway. They then span the second chicane anyway, Ha karma.

The race was quiet for me from then on as I got past the other red bull liveried TT ahead on lap 9 as they made the exact same mistake the other TT made in lap 2. I had a small battle for 2nd with a GT-R who pitted from the lead for second and a small incident with the Blue Red bull TT as they tried to around the outside of Ascari then at the first Lesmo as I got a poor exit but apologised after. From there I finished 3rd for 124 points.

Leaving it there with a 3rd at Monza with McLaren as I don't want to jinx anything. Fun race and am skipping the next two rounds because Tsukuba and Alsace don't look like fun for me.

What a Race!! This is why we play this game right here! Good old fashioned hard, clean and honest racing, from start to finish. This game can be so awesome when you get matched up with good people, what a fun race that was! :)

McLaren seemed strong, as evidenced in @CurbHog video and Pigems' results, among others. Wonder if the Porsche would have had a solid top-10 in it though, and I enjoy racing at Monza... most times. Hopefully can join enough of the remaining races so that the scores are 'my best 5' and not the 'only 5'... but will be traveling much of the next two weeks so it's going to be tough.

What is this easy way??
I simply share them to 'nobody' on the PSN app (seriously, it's an option) and then can save/airdrop them from the phone for posting elsewhere. Or I share them in GT Sport from the alt account and can copy them easily from the webpage or app.

I probably got too much information to go over for tomorrow's race because I ended up getting into practice races in super high-ranked lobbies, the first was kie25's during his livestream earlier today, and the second was with some of the top players of the game. I'm looking forward to it because I think I've been able to wrangle in the GT-R around the RBR, which has grown to become one of my favorite tracks due to how many times I've raced on it now. And any reason to be able to bust out my Speed King livery is good enough for me

Finally didnt have a disaster at Nations! Door 9 in a mixed A/B room. Qualify p9 as well. Solid lap so was happy with that.

Race starts and I am super cautious after my previous 2 rounds where I get a sticky tack penalty on the start. No touches, and the driver behind seems to have the same mindset.

Follow the leader till turn 1 lap 2 when 2 guys bin it. 1 spins right there, the other sort of power slides until the short track turn off. I also get passed by the guy behind. All on all ok.

As we head to the first pit stop people just keep spinning. Plenty faster than me, but I am driving at 85-90% to keep it on track, and as I pit end of lap 8 I am now p5.

Come out in p7. Guy in front pits that lap, person ahead the lap after that. One more death spin and I am rocking p4 somehow. Holding steady keeping a second lead until lap 16 where I blow my braking at turn 2, my Achilles heel, and the 2 guys behind finally nip by me. Roll home p6, and more than double my previous top score since those were for dead last and next to last.

Good race, clean racing from most everyone I met. So a great night.

Good luck to you all and may you keep it in the lines:cheers::gtpflag::D

Dagnabbit! Firstly, I started qualy on RH(1:24.0xx). Again, to gauge the mostly D/S room. Wanted to see the pace of the other B/S and a couple A/S players. I sat P6, then P7 for awhile. Dropped to P8 and decided to pit for RM.

I switched to RM tyres. Press enter and the screen is black for the duration of qualy, with 5 minutes to go! Dropped to P9.

Race starts and at T2, I get hit from behind into P8. P8 spins, I get 2 seconds and the culprit behind gets no penalty.

As I'm exiting T3, the car I spun, starts flashing mad. I serve my penalty and a few cars pass me. Now, this player is blocking. Shoves the cars that were trying to pass. Gets no penalty for that stuff.
I get a run and it wants to get revenge. I give it room at T3 and there... he gets me back for nothing - I don't go off.

Run long on RH. I pass cars and move up to P6. Pit end of Lap 10 for RM. Catch and pass a couple cars that are running even longer.

Catching P4 quickly. Set FL 1:23.085. P4has a bobble on the penultimate corner. I let it recover and stay behind. It gets .5seconds. Down the front straight, it moves over and hands me the position. I run the next couple laps to finish.

That player let a 5 second gap to P1, escalate to over 15 seconds, whilst it held everyone up.

This race was not a good one for me. I tend to get mixed results at Red Bull Ring depending on the time of day settings. Today was one of those days where due to the conditions, I couldn't see any of my brake points and couldn't adapt quickly enough.

Started down in 17th, and made up one spot due to a spin ahead of me when the lights went out. Was able to run just inside the top 10 early on, however a penalty for tagging one of my mates into a spin out of Turn 2 and poor pace on the hard tyres saw me drop back.

Ended up doing a second stop to go back to Mediums with the plan to try to out run those just ahead, however a couple of laps from home I was too early on the throttle out of Turn 1 and almost lost the rear end, dropped a place whilst recovering and crossed the line in 15th. Only to be promoted up to 14th thanks to a penalty to another driver.

I was very nervous about Gr.2 @ RBR, turned out I had no need to be. Low points but a nice respectful race that I managed not to ruin for anyone. Qualified and started on hards to get them out of the way and because I didn't want to be among the hard chargers on the first lap. The outcome:

Was the only driver not to pick Nissan so was hoping to do well! Tough lobby with No.18 on the door. Qualifying went ok, starting 14th. Race went better, moving up a couple of positions with people spinning off then getting past a couple more. Was running Hards and pitted lap 9 for Mediums jumping another position. Couldn’t quite hold on to 9th getting passed on the last lap but they picked up a pen on the last corner. Decent result considering the lobby strength :)

With my school schedule, I can only do the last two Wednesday races. Race 4 started off well, but my no-stop strategy resulted in me going wide at turn 4's exit and binning it twice on laps 9 and 12, completely nuking my race and DR.

I posted a similar qualifying time in Race 5, but it was only good for 15th (14th after someone DCed after the Nations Cup cutscene). I was able to keep up in the opening laps, but got an unfair 2 second penalty thanks to a Lexus turning on me on lap 3 turn 4. Karma came back to bite the Lexus, as he completely lost it on lap 7 turn 1 and got sent to the back. I boxed on lap 8 or 9 to switch from Hards to Mediums, and tried to push as hard as I could to recover from the penalty. I finished 11th on the road, but the would-be race winner forgot the tyres and got demoted all the way down to 18th (out of 19). Oof.

Shambolic effort today. Started 5th with much better pace and confidence than I'm used to in Gr.2, then the start went to ****. Lots of cars wiggling round and a Croatian guy in a Volex livery wasn't letting anybody go past him. I ended up getting swamped by everything behind me (including being the middle of a sandwich going into turn 4), including what felt like every Lexus on the planet. That car's acceleration out of corners is great.

Particular lowlight was following someone into turn 3, braking too late and doing a Rossi trying to avoid the cars on front. The lightest tap imaginable on the guy in front on my way through and he gets 2 seconds for it. Comical.

My fastest lap on mediums was a 24.3 and on hards it was a 23.7, to give you an idea of how bad that first stint was. Ended up 10th.

Just did my first FIA race since my DR reset and a few weeks away from the game. I went with the Lexus and as D/E I was put in a pretty even lobby. I started on pole but a few track limits penalties put me down to 2nd after a couple of laps. I went with a two stop strategy and I eventually finished 3rd, and in hindsight I’d probably just go with a one stop. My pace was decent though and I was lapping in the low 1.23’s and got fastest lap. I just lacked consistency and kept making little errors, which is to be expected after a while out.

A bit of an uneventful race and just the 19 points for me but I went up to C/A. I might have another go later on and see if I can claw back some more DR. It’s going to take a long time to get back to DR/A though.

This was the first race of these exhibition series' that I had been looking forward to. And early practice in the GT-R boded well until in a lobby with Dillster I was purple in qualy after sector 2, only to lose nearly half a second in the final sector to his NSX - so I tried the Honda and after figuring out how not to crash it, committed to it.

Entered first slot for the third Nations race running alongside @Hasnain282. Running two hot laps, first qualy attempt was poor, second lap got held up by people who clearly don't know what the blue flags mean. Second run was slightly better, got held up again then on my final run I put a clean lap together, 0.06 off pole, 4th... for a while, then 5th as Hasnain put in a belter of a lap to go 2nd and that's where I started.

There's always the chance of shenanigans at RBR and after a clean first couple of corners the fun began as cars ahead started fighting. Hasnain had been swamped by a couple and I had the run out of T4 to take the outside into T6. Can't remember if it was L2 or L3 but the two GT-Rs ahead went for it into T3, both running deep and I got a switch back past both into 2nd place on the run down to T4 and more importantly, the sector that the NSX completely owns. I cleared the slipstream almost straight away and set about chasing the lead NSX which was just over 3s up the road.

Closing in slowly I was trying to work out whether to go one or two stops, hoping that the lead car would pit L7. It didn't, and we both came in on L8. He has a good lead so is surely going to stay on mediums and stretch it out some more, so I'll run mediums again and we'll gap everyone... no, he came out on hards, me on mediums, I dropped two more places to cars I thought had performed the undercut of all undercuts and panic was starting to set in!

Hasnain got loose out of T3, I had great traction on my new mediums and he let me go on the run to T4 then the German ahead pitted, suddenly the race was looking better. I closed up on the leader with the softer tyre advantage but knowing I still had to pit there wasn't much point trying to make too much of a fight of it. We gapped the car behind, I chose to pit on L15 while I had the space and came home 2nd.

Definitely had the pace to match the winning time (23:39) and did really fancy my chances going into this race, but 2nd is a more than satisfactory result
