Maybe they'd be happy if T10 spent 3/4 of it's time in development on the graphics & visuals like some other game....

Another one complaining about graphics.

This coming from a person who claims the 360 doesn't support native 1080p...
You are completely wrong.
I've said before what I mean by "not support 1080p". I don't mean technical capabilities of XBOX360 but good GAMES that run in 1080p. As I said before I have few XBLA games that run in 1080p (but they are simple 2D)

Now on FM4. First of all video in 360p - you can barely see the "graphics" in this quality. But all things I've mentioned is completely true. (worse cockpit view and "plastic" look). I don't mean texture sizes and number of polygons and shaders - just overall look of the game. And again - 2 years ago T10 promised us "best looking racing game ever, 4x sized textures compared with FM2, with most features, etc etc" and what we've got? Game that looks worse than GT5P. (I mean graphics only by now!)
What I mean is T10 is hyping their game again and there is a chance that they are playing with facts or simply lying again.

Problem is that no one forcing them to say "FM4 will have most stunning graphics". That's only problem. They say it but I disagree with them, and I'm not GT fanatic, I have many complains about GT5 too, because it looks worse than GT5P, but their trailers are epic.
(I have all consoles)

I was actually impressed, until I realised that everything shown before 1:15 didn't even begin to compare with in-game footage, which still uses the same, smooth tracks and outdated lighting from FM2. The only thing that would convince me to buy this game now is if the hype about tyre modelling proves to be legit, and given Turn 10's track record of catering to controller users, I wouldn't count on that just yet either. Disappointed.

For the most part Forza 3 looks better than GT5, Cars are better than 800 GT5 cars and tracks look ALOT better, Only thing GT5 does better are the 200odd Premiums and the lighting system.

I do agree the trailers for GT5 were epic though...completely on another level to this Forza 4 trailer.

GT5 does do really good trailers.

I wasn't impressed with the piano music though, maybe that's just me.

The racing on the intro looked epic and really good.

Maybe I should pack up the cash for a 360.

The word "better" needs to be explained, because GT5 tracks are far more accurate and looks way more realistic than FM3, not to mention that GT tracks has bumps on it, while Forza tracks are really approximate. Maybe for you 3D crowd and 3D trees are more important than accurate surface - for me not.
And maybe not track and car models are not good in Forza, I think its old game engine that makes cars looks like plastic toys. They really, really need to make a new engine for FM4.

About trailers - thats a real showcase of GT graphics engine, but old (and crappy) PS3 hardware makes too much limitations for current GT engine. I mean what we see in trailers is "in-game" maxed out graphics, while Forza always had pre-rendered videos. I really hope that GT6 will be on PS4, or at least they need to use MLAA and 720p, because no-one really interesed in 1080p while having frame-rate issues and those crappy shadows.

What GT5 tracks are accurate with bumps.

Suzuka is pretty flat in both games.
Fuji is Flat.
Nurburgring is good though.
Monaco whilst having elevation changes is smooth.

Le Sarth down the straight has bumps.

I cant think of many bumps to be honest.

I think Suzuka and Fuji are flat in reality too. (that's Japan :)) I mean not just bumps but suspension too, it's bit unrealistic in FM. Cars drove like on ice :) Even GT1 doesn't have that. Hope they fix it in FM4. And yeah - driver hands looks like claws. Again :) Thus it's can be really early version or complete fake...
Again don't get me wrong guys - I'm not against FM, but I wonder how they not fix some bad things since FM2, and call it "most definitive racing game".

Oh I have to disagree.

My mate bought a tune for a Viper ( say no more ).
Anyhow whilst racing on the nurb dlc track his suspension continually caused damage over the bumps.

His car's suspension was lowered to the ground, and as you know a locked tune prevented him from raising the suspension.

Oh how my ribs hurt lol.

Possitano has a jump too. If you land too hard your suspension will suffer.

I think the telemetry and suspension in Forza is great.

In GT I can get Hollywood style air on cape ring with no consequence at all.

That track is smooth too come to think of it.

Yes I agree.
But I mean how suspension looks in FM4.But yeah, GT5 doesn't have any suspension damage. Damage itself is a big problem for GT we all know that. You can take F40 on Daytona and place car perpendicular to the track in place where track has angle. You will see one of the worst GT thing - front of the car are going through track...:(

Can't really argue with this either.

The difference is that once I'm bored with the Forza career, I can go and spend months customizing the cars just how I like them. Fun>grinding.

Grinding is for idiots anyway. 👍

The cars look good when it's not in-game footage, but they don't look as good as I thought they would when they actually show you them on the track. I think it's an aston martin on the inside of a corner @ 1:52, it looks horrible. :yuck:

I've mentioned this before about graphics.
Developers continually have to strive for perfection to improve graphics.

It hinders progression on other more important aspects of the game.

Kaz's epitaph.

Game wasn't much fun but it looked good.

so how many discs will this come on?

near as I can tell, the two are practically identical
Regarding the career modes, I don't see that at all. FM3 has 220 events and a consistently stocked event calendar. GT5's probably got less than 70 events and less frequent seasonal updates. Even if you counted each license completion as an event, it still wouldn't even amount to 100. It's not even close IMO.

With the new DVD discs that are coming to the 360 no way will the game come on 3...2 max.

In the IGN analysis They claim to have seen the Road in ROmania (Dubbed the best road on earth)Can any one confirm this ?

I sadly would prefer this game to gt5 from what I have seen, There is more customation and from the look of it more tracks, there are slightly less cars. The graphics of Forza 3 were never a problem for me so if they are improved for 4 then that is just extra.

👍 Whether it is or not?? With the Top Gear connection i wouldn't be surprised.

And after 6 years PD gave us GT5...Which incidentally looks worse than GT5P too :dunce:

How GT5 looks worse than the over 3 years old GT5p i'l never know!

I guess you have never looked at any of the standard models, or the shadows then? or the blockyness of the particle effects when behind a model? come to think of it, Have you even played GT5?

Im agreeing you.

All we saw was a low resolution trailer and you're already coming to conclusion that FM4 has smooth tracks? So did you get to play and test FM4 before us or what, or are you just being a troll? I'm not surprised you were disappointed...you seem to hate anything related to FM or T10.

Haters already starting to hate

Looks very cool. But I'll wait for E3. Graphics? I could'nt care less about it... Give me physics and give options and give me SOUNDS!!!! You ear that Kaz ?!? SOUNDS!!!! No you probably can't ear that...:ouch:

There's an Alpine track (probably Alpine Ring from FM1 with the real Eiger, Monch, Jungfrau etc as the background), what appears to be the Transfalgarn (sp?) from Romania and the TG test track. That alone pleases me as a heavy user of FM's photomode.

If Mercury really is in the game, I'm really hoping for a Marauder.
