Actually I have a feeling the full version will be significantly bigger because when I reinstalled the game and packs it actually briefly showed 56.2 Gb so the 44.4 we have now is not complete by the looks of things..

Uninstall and reinstall Cam.
I will check the "ready to install" section first. After that I will try re-installing. We are still several weeks out before the game releases. So plenty of time to figure it out.

Probably be some sort of day 1 update that adds quite a bit more. That happens all the time.

What I don't understand is that the 44.4 Gb is not registering on my Hd. Under 'manage' it's showing 44.4 but my HD space is still the same as it was before the installation. Why??

Are we sure the game is available to download yet or did the xbox team just update the space needed for the game?

Yeah it sounds like it because it's definitely not downloaded. It would probably take a good hour I am guessing.

45gb is still a lot.... PC games get ridiculed as being 'gigantic installs' when they go over 20gb. I do wonder if its a force of habit to only compress far enough so it fits on a bluray, or whether t10 is missing out on a lot of optimization they could do (properly compressed textures still look like the real thing and free up a hell of a lot of performance for example).

I'm really curious what the data looks like exactly.
GTA V was massive on both consoles and PC for example. As for racing games there aren't any on PC that are anywhere close in terms of size and scope to forza. Even PCars with just 80 cars is 20 gigs.

I have to say, all this makes me extremely tempted to get the Ultimate Edition now too, just for the early access. Could I bear waiting for my console while everyone else is playing already? Guess I could try to resell the token for the standard edition. Not that I think I'd get much for it looking at prices for the physical disc.

Was able to pre-load my Ultimate Edition, so that means I'm ready when Forza 6 is out, day one. Just need to wait for four more weeks.

Uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times now and it still won't preload. Maybe because I preordered a few hours ago?

That's true i guess, but seeing what can be done with a little tech-tech (look up Fuel for example) i think there's things to be improved. GTA5 was relatively fluid, but its loading times were beyond atrocious. I can't comment on PCARS though.

I have the same issue too. I have the ultimate edition and went to the file last night and it doesn't seem like it has pre-loaded. In fact I cant even "manage game" to check the file size. I am sure it will be fine. Maybe it will just take a few days.
I just checked mine and it is 44.3gb and I am able to select manage game. So looks like its good to go.

You have to check your bandwith usage in the settings on xbox one or check your free hdd space, because managing the game is possible without having downloaded the full game.

Not 44 GB though. It never did a big download

Correct. Don't understand it. There's no way it installed 44GB in about 1 minute. I just don't see the point to it because that 44GB is not registering as taking space on my Hd and it still has preordered so no idea.

Mine is still not working. I even deleted and re-installed it.

Exactly. Even after I deleted and re-installed, mine downloaded in about 10 seconds. There is no way my currently downloaded game is 44gb. There is no way it is the full game. Even with my good connection 44gb should take at least an hour to DL.

For example, Rare Replay was 50gb with 30 games and pre-downloading all 30 of those games still took over an hour.

Yeah I think that 44gb is a placeholder size for now. The actual pre-load and size will be available later, closer to launch.

It has a Manage Game on my console but is currently stuck at 0Gb. The Its a launch model and its disk is less than half full.

Mine finally worked last night. I had a "mange game" option AND it showed all the files downloaded. :)

Mine has shown that screen for a week now; does your bandwidth show that you've downloaded the 44GB, though?
That I do not know. I just know a few days ago I was not even able to select "manage game".

I was also downloading GOW yesterday so it might be hard to tell by the bandwidth.

I pre-ordered earlier today (ultimate edition) and am now at the same stage. It all downloaded hellish quick though, is it really fully installed?
The part that took a few seconds did not fully download. It seems to take a few days for it to somehow download or register the 44gb. But there is simply no way all 44gb are downloaded in a few seconds. I had the same confusion.

I think something downloads in the back round somewhere. Is strange indeed. Out of the digital games I have downloaded, this one seems wonky.

Ooh I hope nothing goes wrong :nervous: £82 is quite a financial commitment for me
