I wasn't sure I'd bother with FH after seeing it at E3, but I recently tried the demo out after seeing the developments which have been made over the past few months, and I loved it. The handling feels just right for such a game and not too arcadey. I noticed that the menu resembled the one used in DiRT 2, so in a way it feels very familiar to me.

Can't wait to try the full game in a few weeks, although I don't car much for the pre-order or VIP bonus features.

Some of the NFS games force alot of these unrealistic features on you. I'm glad FH doesn't.

Yeah, I'm with you on that.

One thing I found was that changing the control settings (in the demo at least) turned out to be quite fiddly at first. I'd rather just configure each button myself instead of relying on one of 5 default settings.

I own HP2010 on PS3, and have am level 20 on both the police and racer career tiers with most of the challenges done. I guess the aspect that reminds me of HP2010 is the environment, obviously FH is no where near is arcade-y as HP2010, but I think it is some what of a given that FH's physics are not a transplant of what was in Forza 4. But aspects of Colorado really strike me like Seacrest County, so in that sense it feels like you're racing through a similar environment minus the over-the-top police, which is what I think I'm trying to get at with my sentence.
Ah, ok. Well in that case, I agree with you there.
There are a couple of things that get to me, the first being that the car list so far is essentially a copy and paste from the past couple Forza games, but seeing as we haven't seen a complete list yet, this will likely change. Either way, every car I've seen so far has been in Forza 3/4, with maybe slight variations (e.g. the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 in FH as opposed to the 2010 model that was in 3 and 4).
The list now is actually pretty complete.

And while it's got a nice, broad range of cars, it is still head scratching. Many great cars introduced in FM4 are not in FH, & as I mentioned on FP, it seems Playground decided to included the top-of-the-line version for several cars such as GT500 to represent current Mustangs, 599XX instead of GTO/GTB, F1 GT instead of the short tail, Zonda R & so forth.

Again, I like the list, but I can't imagine why many cars were decided to be left out unless T10 kept them (since they created the models), or were on a time restraint of some sort.
The other thing was how Dan Greenawalt said how FH didn't include rain or cops because they are things people don't like (something along those lines). IMO, in a real-life situation, this makes sense but this is a whole different thing in video games. NFS for instance has heavily capitalized with the inclusion of police with great success, I don't doubt there will be people who don't like having police in a racing game which I respect, but the way Greenawalt phrased what he was saying kind of came off as no one, period, likes things like rain or cops in video games, which I think is far from the truth. I said so already in the Most Wanted thread in the NFS section here, but when I learned FH took place on open public roads with traffic and how FH was made with some realism in mind, I couldn't help to think how out of place it is seeing cars basically terrorizing the public without even minimal police presence (Especially considering FH rewards you for things such as vandalizing road signs by you running them over). This would be different if the Festival closed off all roads for their events as I initially assumed would be the case, but ultimately the lack of police won't be a deal breaker for me, just a slight disappointment.
I don't think Dan quite said it in that tone. From the most recent videos, Dan seemed to be conveying that there was no weather or anything else like cops because the game was supposed to be sort of "driving nirvana", that if you went to a festival like in the game, you'd prefer there not to be cops or weather.

I can understand the point about weather, but the cop thing seems like a PR answer for them maybe being unable to implement it?

I'm just assuming here, but the game seems to have closed off races & then open street races. With that going on, I could see cops being implemented & only interfering with the street racing challenges. Of course, at the same time, if Dan's answer is that the game is supposed to be "driving nirvana", I probably wouldn't want cops either.

Using CSRE.

I really enjoyed the demo, and will be buying. I loved the way the gravel sounded (real) under the tires, and was particularly impressed with the gravel to pavement transition.

The physics although toned down, they felt great.

I'm looking far off in the distance and seeing snow covered mountain tops. One can only hope we can explore (perhaps some snow driving) them upon full release.

Well, there are like 60+ ground materials/textures...

The game looks and feels great.
I played the demo with my CSR Elite and the FFB was smooth and direct on road and brutal when going offroad. Imo perfect feel, this means they learned from FM4.

Forza- Y U NO COME OUT ON PS3

ForceMotion
This game should really come to PS3.. :(

Heh, the irony, since T10 was essentially formed just to make an XBox equivalent of the GT franchise :D

(In other words, expect it roughly the same time GT winds up on the 'Box)

Luminis
I'm looking forward to creating some glossy black on matte black designs for my cars

I definitely didn't load up FM4 for an hour last night to prep some designs for just that...

I'm quite looking forward to playing this game (haven't DL'd the demo.. no gold). but i do plan on getting this game. I loved both TDU's so i doubt i'll be disappointed by Horizon.
Can't wait to paint and drive the Lancia S4.

I am kind of shocked the Zonda R is in the game but the Cinque (I pronounce it as Sink) isn't.

You know, there's this place called "ForzaPlanet". You can link there as well from time-to-time.

No, I was referring more to that piece in particular. Not the entire site itself.

There's a redirect link for that on the main page. :p
