This looks like utter crap.

Tokyo Drift is still my favorite.

Yes, I know this seems totally contradictory.

Mine too, got me into drift culture and was fun to watch Han and co, 1,3 and 5 are far superior to the others, then it's 6 and the rest shouldn't qualify as movies.

....Well, I'll be seeing this just for the Rock Vs. Transporter beatdown sequence. All the others are just background noise at this point.

Looks like it'll be a good laugh, but I think this is going to be weakest film in the franchise.
Huge over the top explosions just like the last few films
Dom is a rehash of Letty's story where she turned into a bad guy.
Shaw is a rehash of Brian's story from 2F2F where even though he's a criminal, the authorities pardon him in order to catch the bad guy.

I think the franchise ran it's course with 7 with it's fantastic ending.

A nuclear sub now...this damn franchise just went full G.I. Joe...make it stop please, please, PLEASE!!!

As with so many things in life, this can be directly related to an episode of The Simpsons:

"Why don't they make a sequel to Taken where The Hangover guys get taken and the only ones that can save them are Fast and Furious?"

i like 4 and 5, 4 was kinda gritty and the race scene was awesome (that R34 though) and 5 was the balance between ridiculous and gritty too.

I decided I was done with the movie franchise because of what happened with Paul and because F&F7 seemed like the perfect way to close the circle.

And after watching this trailer, I can confirm I'm done.
i can see this as an alternate universe lol

Let the advertising campaign begin! Cue TV spots showing cars out-running missiles and Johnson firing an enormous machine gun into a narrow corridor without hitting anything.

But my favourite part? The way the predictive text on my phone thinks that the film is called The Fate of the Furniture.

Alright, I'm done with the franchise after FF7, it has a decent climax that remembered Paul Walker who made the franchise known to people. Dom was saying his goodbyes in the movie, but it just doesn't need another sequel to me. But, I guess it can't be helped people will go buy the movie or watch the movie in a theatre.

What's funny is that the first film would have singlehandedly been enough if they had replaced those awful looking cars by good looking ones. And I don't mean "ditch the Supra and put American Muscle in its place", but rather, ditch this:

In favor of this or this. You know, something that doesn't look utterly stupid. Because ugly cars (which were part of the culture back then, I get it) and awful cringy dialogues aside, F&F1 was actually very grounded by today's standards. 1-minute 10-second races aside.

EDIT:

I echo Tokyo Drift being my favorite film of the franchise, which isn't saying much.

Those actually look worse. What would have worked would have been a less time attack rear wing on the back and no vinyl decals. The cars in reality weren't that bad it was the fad of the time (decals and stupid non functioning aero) that made them look bad when they would have been fine otherwise.

I have no words for how stupidly unrealistic some of the stuff in this trailer is

Wow the First trailer was stupid, but this is a new level of stupid. I feel worse for thinking we were given the maximum stupid in said first trailer. Also great return of horrible F&F2 CGI. Also horrible ex deus to resolve the submarine, and horrible plot hole foreshadow to explain Dom's "handler"

...Well, my mind hasn't changed. I'm seeing this just for the Rock Vs Transporter beatdown. Worth the admission, me thinks.

But wowsers. What's the Guinness record for the most cars destroyed in one movie? This movie, only in the trailer form, might surpass that.

I have to admit, I keep thinking that after each film that gets released I think to myself, "they surely can't get worse or more fake that that" and yet I find that they have!

I can't wait till the one after this. "Fast and the Furious 9: Ocean's 12 cylinder! How many witty comments can Roman make in a Laferrari while escaping through a collapsing casino caused by an Illuminati orbital strike?! Coming soon to a theater near you!"
