It seems every site I go to about this show people either complain this season is going way too slow or way too fast. I'm trying to reserve judgement on everything including what happened in this last episode until the closing credits role in episode 10. I'm not losing faith in the producers yet, they've done four good seasons so far!

I'm of the opinion that the season has been rather slow so far, but it's starting to pick up. I don't get the outrage for the last episode. It doesn't go anywere it hasn't already been, and it's perfectly consistant with the character of Bolton's bastard.

I seriously wasn't expecting that climax. I was just waiting for the screen to cut away to somewhere else (R'hollor/Seven/Many-Faced God forbid that it would be Dorne) when...
...the White Walkers showed up.

I think the white walker issue basically just makes the rest of the Kingdom seem pathetic.

I also think the Lord of light is the one true god, just sayin.

I seriously wasn't expecting that climax.

Especially in episode eight. That's something they'd normally save for nine &/or ten. Makes me wonder what's in store for the final two episodes of the season. :scared:

I guess now we know how valyrian steel is made!

When I first saw that, I instantly thought of something else (rather than HOW it is made). My first thought was how the sword had been described as a "bastard" like Jon Snow. I know that was at the time put to being not quite a longsword and not quite a short sword (the grip is long enough for 1 and a half hands, rather than explicitly 1 or 2) but what if that was meant more literally than just in it's size?

I think that Valyria had an abundance of DragonGlass so it's safe to assume that's how the steel was made. They must have found a way of smelting DragonGlass with steel.

who here has read the books?

I've read them all, although some it is now a bit hazy. Season 5 has been very good so far (only up to ep5), and seems to have side-stepped a somewhat tedious part of Sansa's story.

Is it wrong that that scene reminded me of that Jordanian fighter pilot being burned alive?

Did anyone else laugh at this scene? Well, here's some dark humor for you...

Stannis - Well, his past couple of days had been pretty rough. He lost everything, including his sanity. Metaphorically speaking he was dead long before Brianne found him.

That Lannister girl, whatever her name was - Obvious death to everyone who knows their Alice Cooper.

Jon Snow - Knowing nothing finally got him in the end. Et tu, Brute?

Sansa and Theon - If you jump, I jump.

Tyrion - Well, seems like sarcasm is the best strategy to survive. Still alive and kicking. Take note, Sansa.

Daenerys - Back to square one...

The Nights Watch - They're screwed. The white walkers are going to walk all over their little tiny traitor bottoms. I mean, that's the only reason why Sam left, so that the writer can drop a nuke on Castle Black.

Sansa and Theon - Let me guess: They both survived that terribly long drop. Although, I can't understand why they ran away. By now it's obvious to everyone that Westeros is one big mess of cruelty and suffering. They'd hardly be any safer outside of the walls than they were inside. The best they can do is to take revenge on the Boltons, and they'd have a much better shot at that from the inside.

Cersei Lannister - She's going to go Rambo on the fanatics. Say hello to her little friend.

Tommen - If there's anything we've learned from GoT, it's that nice people doesn't stay that way for very long*. Either they stop being nice, or they stop being alive. What's it going to be for Tommen?

(* Unless they're nice and sarcastic, like Tyrion. Then they're immune to everything.)

Well, Game of Thrones has officially dropped the ball and become complete 🤬...

Episode 10 is such massive amounts of ameteur, I don't even know where to begin.

Multiple-cliffhanger finale! I found it broadly consistent with the books, as would befit a TV production of a massive saga.

Does anybody remember what the Red Priest, Thoros of Myr, was able to do for Beric Dondarrion?

I predict the audiences for the 6th novel and 6th HBO season will only increase.

It won't if Snow stays dead though, the show certainly points toward it much more then the books do.

Killing off too many characters people like will have a negative effect on it's viewership, as proven by basically every show ever.
