Personally, i like the fact that finally everyone with a OFW can mod his own cars, of course only the dumb kids will do 45467588hp cars.
i dont think there is the need to mod the cars specs like grip and hp since there are the cars that can own everyone without any mod like focus RS,RX500,Miura,ZZ2,FXX,TS030 and many others if used correctly.
at least for me, i can already win easly with my cars that have praiano tune.
If i can have the possibility to mod my cars, i would just make the car look better, like sound swap, wheels modding o make them bigger, or even delete all part to make her invisible and see other players reaction, but you wont ever see me hacking a car to make her have 400000hp and cornering like a x2010,even if could be funny seeing some cars like a Tank Car doing 6.10 on the ring :D

Part of it could be the license deals struck between PD and the manufacturers. Remember the F10 and F2007? They could only be driven against each other due to licensing, and if PD had just decided to allow mixed racing, that could put them on bad terms with Ferrari. The same may go for these modifications.

Lol... what are they gonna do? Not sell us anymore games?

Good luck with that.

So OFW are regular people, and CFW are people that have been tampering with their PS3?
CFW are regular people too. They've just decided not to stay within Sony's walled garden, at their own risk.
It's just software; it's like "jailbreaking", in a sense.

The issue is that it can be used to extort and do weird backdoor things with Sony services etc. Most CFW players just use it because it returns the PS3 to its multipurpose potential that Sony promised it would have, but took away because of naughty people / their own carelessness with security.

What do you mean by "multipurpose potential"?

I was pretty happy to see this on NGU the other day.. Started playing Gran Turismo again just for this. Turbo Muscle Cars, RWD conversions, 2JZ swaps, extremely close replicas. Man I'm happy..

Worst thing that could happen to GT6. WIll delay new content as PD will be too busy stopping hackers.

I don't see that as a problem as I will be creating my own content exactly how I want to now.

And as for credit hacking - in this iteration, PD set up a system where you can purchase in-game cash as a "time-saver" (I find it poorly implemented), but nonetheless, legally speaking, modding your save to increase your credit count can be seen as "theft", as you are giving yourself "content" that is normally achieved by means of a monetary purchase.

I've had my game save injected with 40,000,000 credits twice now (Yes, I had double the money cap). I'm not about to pay real money in return for game money, simple as that.

I would not get your hopes up for a GT6 Garage Editor coming out anytime soon. Just saying.

We won't need one.. I made a silly amount of hybrids before the editor came out in GT5 as well.. Go on next gen update and check out all the hybrids they've been making on GT for months now.

I don't get the circlejerk. Why are people celebrating and jerking about this?

Because this is great news. I think you're lost though, this isn't reddit.

Dirty V8 in a JDM car?
Typical 'murican ideology...

Or the ideology of most Professional Drifters, check out most of the Formula D cars and you'll learn it's not just "murican" ideology.. But ya know, what ever you wanna believe I guess.

Oh and sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't engine swap in GT6, PD tied the engine code to the body code, in other words they can't be seperated. Only engine "sound" is swappable, but it will still act and feel like the original engine, because well, it is.

Why the negativity? Haha.. It's a game and you're responding as if people modding THEIR cars on THEIR game is a personal attack against you. Just swapping the motor sound is good enough for me anyway, that's all I did it for in GT5 for the most part.

Let's make this simple, i was thinking what it means, but then 💡.

OFW= Ps3 with Original FirmWare
CFW= PS3 with Custom FirmWare
i don't go deeper into it, i will not give or search for info.
i did this with all consoles before (ps1,PSONE,WII) but when i got the ps3, i did a system update because i want to keep the ps3 original.

This is just what we need. Well drifters anyways.
Cry babies, drop your tears into the tank of my RWD R34.

Most probably an Elise chassis, V8 sound swapped & custom turbo code for more power and or an S/C code to bump up low end torque.

Actual engine swaps in GT6 have not been done yet, but they should be doable in the near future, but this might be CFW only, not inside the ability of save game edits. Like the swapping of stock rims.

Are you sure about that? It has been done.

Really need to use a HD TV and not a monitor so I can make full use of my PVR lol

Yes, I know this. I have my own CFW console. :sly: You're not telling me anything I don't already know or haven't already done. ;)

As someone who got gifted a Electric SLS on GT5 ( then immediately supercharged it :P) but can't build them, I believe that hybrids are good in moderation.

It's fun drifting, drag racing, and showing off at cruises in the custom hybrids.

It's not so fun when hybrids have obscene amounts of power and are used for ramming, racing competitively online and ruining seasonal events.

The thing is though, the hybrids give the ability to recreate your dream car (like the Callaway Sledgehammer TT) and also allows you to build something completely different if you please.

A rotary powered Copen? Why not? :)
A 2JZ powered Camaro Z/28? Go right ahead. 👍
Twin turbo'ing the tank car (like in real life) and giving it the 4 speed out the Oldsmobile? Be my guest. :P
Or how about a BMW 120D powering a Miata?. :mischievous:

It allows oneself to build to their hearts desire and I've always been a sucker for more choice.

The engine code and body code are tied together, swapping the engine code can be done but it just switches back to the engine code connected to the body. A method of using the car your sitting in and setting the engine of that car to lock in and then every car will have that engine. You could lock in the engine of the ZR1, jump in a Miata and have a monster Miata as long as the CFW keeps it set. A way might be under development to detatch the engine from the body for tradional engine swaps but that's not public yet.

What we see are power modified cars running the sound samples from other cars to simulate engine swaps.

If you're saying somebodie has done it before FSX the GT6HE creator, I say prove it.

:odd: Did you even read my post? I have CFW and I've been modding cars for months. I know very well what can be done. Just because it sounds like a V8 doesn't make the 4banger or V6 a V8.

Check forums

Is that all you have? "Check forums"? That's not much. I'm a member of a few forums, I've been at this for a while.

You would not be the first tricked by a sound clip. Its quite common actually. Every couple of weeks somebody gets fooled by some video on YouTube.

I hope these hackers (quit calling yourselves modders for those who are, you're hackers), do not ruin the game like they did GT5 with their pathetic 40,000 hp cars and super modified downforce and settings. PD better permanently ban them if they dare go online. I do not care what you do offline.

I consider people who make outrageous cheat vehicles "hackers." I consider people who make harmless vehicles meant to be fun, look good, or correct an engine sound to be "modders." "Hackers" have a negative context so I use it to label the negative group of people. "Modders" do have a negative context, but it doesn't sound as serious as hackers do.

I really hope the stigma of modders ends soon. It's really getting on my nerves seeing so many people vehemently against modded "for fun" cars. I think a portion of the hatred comes from people that never got their own custom cars. ;)

Anyone who uses a pre-made tool to push buttons and make the changes the tool's author decided should be made, and not get their hands dirty with any actual hacking, are not hackers.

At worst, they're cheaters - and that depends on the rules (not the ToS, the rules the players agree to with each other). Regardless, they're just trying to have fun, and not always at someone else's expense.

Those kinds of people who do have fun at others' expense will be raising your blood pressure without modding tools anyway.
