Oh that stinks, guess they don't want to compete with pc Sim racing games (Assetto Corsa,Project Cars, iracing, automobilista, Forza Lol JK). GT would probably make some $$$ if they did.You can't

You've just pointed out why you don't need GT on PC! Anyway you can get Forza Motorsport on PC so you don't need GT.Oh that stinks, guess they don't want to compete with pc Sim racing games (Assetto Corsa,Project Cars, iracing, automobilista, Forza Lol JK). We know that they have considered it already, so it's not like they're ignorant of the concept and need external suggestions.Oh that stinks, guess they don't want to compete with pc Sim racing games (Assetto Corsa,Project Cars, iracing, automobilista, Forza Lol JK).
Not really. PD's external comms are managed by SIE.That, is how PD operates.
Maybe we ll have the 1999 Xsara Kit car of Philippe BugalskiThis livery looks better.

Sounds like a job for AI!It probably shouldn't be.
Even fictional circuits now have their locations scanned and terrain-mapped (which is why they're taking just as long to produce). To create environments for a track editor they'd need to visit and scan the locations.
In addition they'd want the created courses to be not of significantly inferior quality; they can't get away with 1080p textures any more, and making the lighting work for user-created tracks would take... a while. To say nothing of how it'd function on PS4 (not that they're averse to excluding features from PS4 users).
I doubt we'll see it return. Or at least any time in next game or three.
You can't.
Not in this update we won't.Maybe we ll have the 1999 Xsara Kit car of Philippe Bugalski( Gran turismo 2 and 3 got that )

Lol Forza, Yeah only reason forza is good is the car list. Wish they put more cars in the other Sim games. You've just pointed out why you don't need GT on PC! Anyway you can get Forza Motorsport on PC so you don't need GT.
As owner of both games, I can tell you that Forza was better than GT until Sophy 2.0 made GT better than Forza.Lol Forza, Yeah only reason forza is good is the car list. Wish they put more cars in the other Sim games.
Lol oh man. Thats so sad.Imagine, if you will, the most sound/critique/suggestion proof sphere you can.
Next, in your mind, place Kazunori Yamauchi, Polyphony Digital and Gran Turismo Franchise inside that bubble.
After that place fans, ideas, competing platforms, games etc, on the outside of that bubble.
That, is how PD operates.
I asked about it in his Instagram account and he said that "If they (PD) will pay about it i have no problem to allow to release it in GT7"Remember, any SCG car might never appear as Glickenhaus and PD couldn’t come to an agreement about licencing amount$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Seems unlikely, but there'll be more info on Wednesday and patch notes with the update on Thursday as usual. Will the next GT7 update land me a job and a lottery ticket worth a million pounds?
I think it just clicked for me. The mundane and absolutely dreadful cars they're adding are to give people exposure to the cars that might not otherwise be interested. Since people will get the opportunity to drive them in game, they will be so turned off by how miserable they are, no one will ever want to consider them in the future. In turn, will drive people to want to enjoy fun, exciting cars.I just struggle to understand this run of humdrum SUVs.
Who is Al?Sounds like a job for AI!
😝
Well, PD keeps on experimenting with procedural generation so...These days, with the amount of people using it to disguise the reality that they are chuckle heads, one may ask.. Who isn’t AI =p
Joking aside. Machine learning programs seem well suited for this sort of task. I’ll wager, in a few years time they will be most proficient in coding which will allow things like tracks, textures, car models, etc… to be created in a fraction of the time it takes a studio to produce today.
it’s already happening.in a few years time
I think PD wouldn’t give us any more tracks, and especially not the tracks we “want” just because production techniques improve. These days, with the amount of people using it to disguise the reality that they are chuckle heads, one may ask.. Who isn’t AI =p

Compete? Haha.Oh that stinks, guess they don't want to compete with pc Sim racing games (Assetto Corsa,Project Cars, iracing, automobilista, Forza Lol JK). GT would probably make some $$$ if they did.
Sounds like a cabal of bitter little men.I think PD wouldn’t give us any more tracks, and especially not the tracks we “want” just because production techniques improve.
I think the problem with tracks is that fans want different ones to PD. Or track choice is subjective in general.
But the way production at PD currently works is they come up with a track list without fan input and that’s what we get. And PD are generally really out of touch with Motorsport or anybody it seems. It’s anybody’s guess which tracks we could get apart from perhaps only one track - the ring - as well as many Japanese tracks which so far has been in all recent entries.
Like the car choices, the physics changes?I think the problem with tracks is that fans want different ones to PD. Or track choice is subjective in general
To be fair. It seems as if polyphony digital employs a monkey to throw a dart at a wall with pictures of every car manufactured. Then sticks to it.Alot of overthinking just to say "I'm still not getting the cars and Tracks I wanted that are in multiple other games".
I don't think that's quite fair. I'd say there's only two cars this year that we don't know the reasoning for, the Unimog and Kangoo. Everything else makes 100% logical sense based on what we know:To be fair. It seems as if polyphony digital employs a monkey to throw a dart at a wall with pictures of every car manufactured. Then sticks to it.
Also..
Its easy to overthink when there is a chance your subject is under thinking. We all want to believe that PD is putting a serious effort into the choosing process. That they are intelligent, diligent people. So the mind wanders and struggles to identify a perspective which their choices would seem rational and well grounded. An endeavor which they continue to challenge us..
Ohhh AI, I thought you were talking about a guy named AL....These days, with the amount of people using it to disguise the reality that they are chuckle heads, one may ask.. Who isn’t AI =p
Those two have a pretty sufficient reason to be there as well, with the Unimog being the historical leader in a particular vehicle segment much like the Samba Bus, and the Kangoo being a Japanese cultural icon. For the same reason, I wouldn't be surprised if we ever saw a Dodge van arriving to the franchise.I don't think that's quite fair. I'd say there's only two cars this year that we don't know the reasoning for, the Unimog and Kangoo. Everything else makes 100% logical sense based on what we know:
There's absolutely logic there, it's just not the logic some people want them to follow.
- 812, C5, Z4, Vantage - sports cars have always been a core GT segment
- Carry - kei cars have always been a core GT segment (and post-2000s ones are underrepresented)
- Civic, 205 - hot hatches are a core GT segment as well
- C-HR, CX-30, CR-V, 2008 - Kaz is on record in 2023 as saying GT needs to add SUVs to represent what people are driving in real life
- Ioniq - You'll note this is in basically every generalist road car game, Hyundai are marketing this into every game they can
- F3500 - fills an as-yet unrepresented formula car gap in the roster.
