I don't know about crossovers never being fun and always worse than an estate car. My crossover is a lot of fun, and a metric 🤬ton more versatile as the powertrain was never available in an estate, only the drivetrain in a slower/less powerful sedan and the engine in a slower/FWD-only hatchback. Also it was in GT previously in concept form, and mine's stock and available for scans if PD wants one!

The non-update discussion, now elsewhere, also made us all miss this:

Which confirms the date I put in the first post. See what you miss when you're paying attention to the wrong thing?

People demanding latest race cars all the time so they can pretend to be buddying racing drivers need to realise the game is not just focused on their aspirations but tries to be inclusive of loads of different ways to play the game.
We're all pretending aka role play as somebody or ourselves as something unique behind every type of vehicle in any racing game though? Some want to role play as a street racer, others want to role play as a professional racer, and others want to role play as cops. It's quite humorous it's seen as a inconvenience for someone like you for certain folks craving to drive/race race cars in a racing game

I don't know about you...but GT taught me to appreciate racing and motorsports in general, and I want more of that. Don't think that's wrong.

I don’t mind the update. The 2008 and Citroen might be a bit of fun and hopefully the 2008 can be upgraded properly, unlike prior SUVs. I’m happy for these everyday cars to be added, and it’s good to see some more European models too.

Would love a track but I won’t hold out hope.

Unless they use the e2008, we're in manual or torque converter territory, so power upgrades should act as normal.

And how is an update with a Citroën BX 19 TRS '87, Peugeot SUV 2008 Allure '21, Lancia Delta HF Integrale Rally Car '92(you know a race car) stopping either of those with the update now is it?

aaaaand you've missed my point again, the inconvenience is the constant barrage of "wasted resources, I want blah blah" while the funny thing is any latest racing car would BOP'd in game and if its not a meta it's useless and a wasted use of resources. But hey you are getting a literal racing car in this update.
for certain folks craving to drive/race race cars in a racing game
where does it say racing?

Didn't say it's wrong either, Racing doesn't always mean the latest race car you like either if you're appreciating racing and motorsports, racing lawn mowers is still racing but I guess you'd complain if they were added.

Loads of people completely missing the point of car additions that aren’t super cars or race cars.

sometimes you want to know what the lap time round the Nordschleife in a car your family currently has or one you remember from your childhood. Some people will have their first experience ever driving a car to be some of these from the updates so the addition can make it relatable and inviting to new and existing players.

It’s almost as if complainers have forgotten the amount of regular street cars (loads of boxes from Daihatsu or the family orientated Mazda’s) that the gran turismo series has always included.

Also, on the "race car" topic, it is worth it to point out that the Delta happens to be the most winning car in the history of WRC (on par with the Subaru Impreza) for the most winning team in the history of WRC and the only car to win 6 manufacturers titles in a row, just saying...

That PD is criminally underutilizing rally cars in the game is just another point, though

I‘m not joking when I say that these Gran Turismo updates actually taught me that it‘s pointless to get emotionally invested about things beyond your control. 😂 I would love the latest GT3 cars and Hypercars/GTP‘s in the game but at this point it just won‘t happen and no amount of complaining will change that.

That leaves me with two choices: I can accept this fact and try to enjoy the game in spite of this flaw or leave. Since I like the base game a lot and love to make liveries, I choose the first option.

Kaz‘s stubborness actually allowed me to achieve an almost zen-like mindset that translated onto other areas of my life, I should thank him for that. Again, this isn‘t me trolling you guys, I am 100% serious!

To stay on topic: I am also looking forward to creating WRC replica liveries for the Lancia.
I don't take any time out to work on new liveries. Perhaps I should leave the wheel alone, pick up the old controller to get jiggy with the design aspect of GT.
(I don't mind the lack of new racing cars - GT has always been about driving road cars for me)

I was actually thinking the opposite - the last few updates we've had, all the way back to the Mission X update, have been much less Japanese (in favour of being more European. Sorry American car fans!) than I'd expect from PD.
Well correct, we have now have 4 Japenese cars in the 3 updates so far and not many American cars you are right!

This one is not as good as the Update 1.49 with the 7 cars!! if this update could of have a map

Hang on, how are the saloon and hatch slower? A quick search shows they are 1.3 and 1.8 seconds quicker to 60. Some sources give different times of course but that's a significant difference.

Wouldn't know, but I rarely encounter traffic lights on an NSL road.

Am I the only one who would like to see the Music Rally HUD in the main game? It would be great if PD added it

I’m all for more HUD options, especially custom HUD or at the very least being able to toggle it on or off with the press of a button whilst racing. Such a beautiful looking game ruined by the need of having to have so much junk on the screen and not even being able to choose what you want to see. It’s all or nothing, or I should say top half or bottom half or both.

Hah. Might be less of a chance of a hud toggle than full force being implemented. I put full force at about a 1-2% chance this update. But hey..least iracing got it!

Anybody got any preferences for what track is getting Sophy-fied this time around?

I reckon Fuji is overdue given how much love it gets elsewhere i
I'm actually hoping for another Tokyo layout (South Counterclockwise would be my choice), or adding weather to Sophy races (I'm not holding my breath for that one). Fuji is NOT one of my preferred tracks (So, it will likely be chosen...lol). It makes for good racing, but it isn't all that enjoyable to drive around, in my opinion. Sector 3 is especially annoying. I'm sure it's probably just me, though.

My SUV/Crossover (whatever you want to call them) beef can be summed up by the actual cars and features they have given us..

Look at this. What do you EXPECT it to do? Time attacks maybe? Burn tires at a rate never seen before? Be a heck of a lot of fun to rip around Tsukuba? That's what it LOOKS like.

What is it actually? 🤮 It's doubly disappointing because it gets your hope up, just bring them crashing to the floor.

Same with this...It looks like you an rip around a rally stage, maybe... Maybe the Sardegna track or something.

Nope...it drives like :banghead:

So, since they're only there as an advertisement, what insight have we gained from these advertisements? I've learned that I don't want either of these cars even if they were gifted to me. The "Real Driving Simulator" makes me never want to drive them in the real world.

So, like I said, give them something to make them fun. More weight loss, and big power. NSX engine swap or heck, VGT engine swap. The sky's the limit. SOMETHING

Yeah, some cars just can’t be fixed. It’s a nice shell for liveries at least. Haha

Those are cosplay cars for scapes

I was with you right up until this. The Ionic is a BAD example. It's actually quite powerful, and perfectly competitive. Something tells me you haven't actually driven it or at least haven't given it a fair test. I mean, it has a lot of the same issues all EV's have, in that you can't really tune it (much) and being an EV it has no gears. So, it's not the most gratifying in that way, but what exactly are you expecting? It's plenty fast and can easily fly around Sardegna, or the like.

A better example would have been the Toyota C-HR. Just sayin'

Something that just occurred to me: Remember with the Celica Rally car how PD had gone back and forth between Kankkunen's car (Gran Turismo 3 & 7) & Auriol's car (Gran Turismo 4-6)? What are the odds we might have this happen again with the Lancia Delta? Ironically if there are multiple cars (assuming its from 1992 like the previously scanned car), it could involve the same two drivers.
So I just realized something that really makes this interesting and I didn't notice until I was trying to do a livery: Not only is the Toyota Celica WRC in the game a Juha Kankkunen car, but so is the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evo 2. So maybe we're due for a hat trick with this Lancia?
