Amazon Germany updated the listing again. I just stumbled on it and am wondering... is GT7 actually going to be a launch title???

Well I don't see GT7 being a launch title by any means, so it ain't releasing on that day. I do have hope it will be on the earliest, spring next year and latest, summer next year.

nope, also on amazon new horizon 12 november and we know it's end of 2021 title so just placeholder or mistake

Think on tomorrow there we will finally See After the weekend, when the specialist departments will work again. Think like others, too, the given Date will than be adapted..
But in any way, that had massive improved the ps5 games presells, GT7 was over the weekend continuly on Place 1 of Sold PS5 games on amazon Germany , so good job :d

German retailer selling the game a week before the PS5 goes on sale in Europe? That would be fun.

Let's release a product to the public when majority of the potential buyers know basically nothing about what they are getting. That's really a great marketing strategy, don't you think?

It can be a great strategy sometimes.

It's not a good job when reality kicks in and you have to refund all those GT7 orders and cancelled PS5 orders (assuming the sole reason for them was GT7).

It can be, at the right time for the right product. You will never see news of a AAA games release being broken by confirmation the game has gone gold with no prior marketing to confirm it's launch. A release date will always come before it goes gold, the retailers rely on it, and pre-orders are also very important, not just to bring in warly money but for the retailers and publisher to estiamte suitable volumes.

Sorry, my comment was a bit ironic.. Of course, its bad and I would be angry if I would have ordered because of that date and than they make that undo..

Ah no, it's me who should apologise, I completley misread that :dunce:.

PS5 orders won't be affected as the PS5 was sold out way before the release date change by Amazon. In fact, before the date was changed end of last week, Amazon Germany listed GT 7 for release on 31st of December 2021 (which was also a generic release date for all PS5 games that aren't launch titles).

GT7 is now dated on 19. November at Amazon Germany.

And now its corrected again to 31. of Dezember 2021. So ist was all a only a mistake. No Release Date!

That being the third date change in four days.

Are we still confident that Amazon Germany is so massive and important that it can't be wrong... except for at least twice in a weekend?

Store dates are not official dates until official dates are official dates. It has always been this way, and it doesn't take long browsing our Gran Turismo sections to realise that Amazon and others have published wholly incorrect dates for several games in the series when the real dates weren't yet known.

Amazon.de removed the date with a placeholder:

"Dieser Artikel erscheint am 31. Dezember 2021."

Edit: alex511 already wrote it.
