Does Renault not make an SUV, though? I wonder why the Avantime, this odd minivan-esque thing? Not that I mind its return at all - I'm excited for its potential customization options. Maybe it'll even get an engine swap.
The Avantime is a super unique thing, nobody else really did anything like it again (because, well, it failed badly at retail). It's very much a car with a story to tell.

That makes it enticing to PD's roster-as-car-museum thought process, it's nothing to do with the recent SUV additions.

That Avantime better have V10 engine swap option since they're seemed to have real hard time getting the license and permission to get Espace F1 out of the museum to do some scans and performance capture.
I'm looking forward both Corvette Vision GT and racing concept though, can easily be one of top five fastest cars in the game.
Afeela production model...nope I'm not feeling it looks like Apple store on wheels interior wise lol.
Performance wise they can't capture the Espace F1 since it doesn't run anymore.

Really not sure on some of these updates, sure an F1-able avantine is part of the games history and cool as hell

The normal CX has 2000hp, the CX.R has 900hp
But then I read this (it’s slightly inaccurate) but then think…..is this what the game needs? Is this what the real world needs?

those numbers would be more suited to wipeout.

Basically an update with 3 unobtainiums and 1 nobodywantedium

The real world cruised past 2000hp five years back; there's now multiple cars (all EVs) packing that - and a few more not far off.

In fact BYD just revealed a variant of the Yangwang U9 with 3000hp.

Whether needed or not, I can't say. But it's where we're at now.

Funny, I actually looked at the Avantime wiki page this morning. What a coincidence! :D

On the one hand, I do hope it's the V6, since it should sound quite nice, and it means we will have the same engine we had in previous GTs. But on the other hand, it means we won't get a Avantime with a turbo and anti-lag (unless we get an engine swap, down the line).

And we miss out on this funny engine code name. The Fart

Yeah, I understand that but my latent point was more that these 1 gazillion plus ev cars are so far from reality and that reality is that the shopping car; cars that are too close to reality that everyone just wants an AMG, M, RS and they are all crazy horse power.

BYD has a super car that can jump 2-3 meter gaps….as much as I marvel at the tech I sigh that would be a feature you’d need in a modern world.

We live in the world of unaffordable, unobtainable cars, here is a 2008, to fill the gap 🤣

Event wise, the Afeela should join its prototype with a Japanese Clubman Cup 550 race, and based on its GT6 PP the Avantime will likely be a European Sunday Cup 400 race.

I have absolutely zero idea what they do for the third race - the VGT is going to be too quick for the 850 PP-limited VGT event, and the base concept fits nowhere in the current game structure.

Curious to see more people happu than angry with the Avantime across social media, considering the reaction to previous Vans/SUV additionsšŸ˜…
Thats because everyone plans on turning it into the Espace F1. Clearly its not the SUV/Vans everyone hates. Its the motors in said SUVs/Vans everyone hates. Toss a V10 in them and all is forgiven.

When you say ā€œeveryoneā€ you are paraphrasing a little….

The car choice is getting ever more polarising especially for people who have been with the series since launch or nearly.

There was a game that had things like a 330i in it, that’s a reasonable ownable car, the avantine is rarer than unicorn tear drops.

It’s not about the engines/motors it’s about the driving and driving stuff that marries with aspiration. I personally don’t aspire to a 900hp corvette hyper car, but an older RS6 or M5 V10 definitely ticks the box.

So when you say everyone, caveat that with ā€œyou thinkā€

I kind of don't get the lack of love for Afeela. Yes, it would probably be quite boring to drive in the real world, but I really like the idea of driving SONY car on SONY console and SONY TV and then putting it in Scapes photographed by SONY camera. So, bring on the production version (as long as it's not Afeela SUV ;)).

It may be time to check the batteries on your sarcasm detector.

It may be time to check the batteries on your sarcasm detector.
It maybe time to be clearer on your sarcasm and frame it better? Or understand sarcasm works better with a framing punchline?

Anyway this is a distraction from the impending issue which is the cars that are driven for a dozen miles and then join the rest of the ones that have no compelling g reason to use.

I drove the one we already have exactly once and that was because of weeklies IIRC. Didn't touch it since then.

It's mostly due to the fact we already have the prototype in GT7, and it should be very similar performance-wise.

The only thing that can "save" this Afeela is if it has actual customization. Even then it is still a duplicate car, and an EV at that, so it's not going to be useful or interesting to many players.

At least we won't see an Afeela appear in a future update after this one. Probably...

Don't care about brands for one, but I also generally hate everything the car stands for. It's a car, we shouldn't be turning them into entire entertainment centers with giant screens for watching movies on instead of dashboards. Who in the world decided it needed features such as live sports scoring? ON THE HEADLIGHT BAR?!

The whole thing is a mess, where seemingly someone in the design process was never told "no". Every dumb feature they could cram onto it, they had to.

Because how am I supposed to drive if my taillights can't advertise a movie to the person behind me?

Overall, I find this thing to be a disgusting hazard to everyone on the road. If I saw someone driving one I'd have to assume they're watching Family Guy Funny Moments instead of the road. It shouldn't be street legal. The touch screen control trend should've died after the first time a manufacturer tried selling one.

I hope you don't overstay your parking permit, by the way. The car will snitch on you.

I'm afraid of where we're going.

Yeah…I don’t understand why many people here and many YouTubers are claiming the CX.R is going to be a Gr.1 machine.
It has a combined 2000hp and can potentially lap the Nordschleife in less than 5 minutes (according to leaked info from the reveal event). No current Gr.1 machine has those capabilities.
So unless there was a leak saying it’s Gr.1, it’s most likely going to be a 950-1000PP monster.

Maybe they're assuming it'll have a Gr1 version but typically that's an entirely different car with different body style.

Crazy thing is this car is in collaberation with Honda which makes aircraft...clearly the aviation engineers were not on this design team. They put some college interns on this design team and it's arguably unprofessional. Certainly not best practices.
