Aaaand now we'll get an Afeela one make weekly challenge.
Bring It On Flirt GIF

I'm stupid, but I'm so happy with the Avantime. Now I just hope it's powered by the 3.0-liter V6, like in Gran Turismo 4!
I'm hoping - but not in any way expecting - that PD remembers why it was so big a part of GT lore and we get not only a new Mission 10 with it but a whole new Missions section for the first time in eons.

Wasn't there a one make race (or rather one model race) with only Avantime's in GT4 at Le Mans? I might be wrong though as I was 14 when I played the game. I think it could also have been part of the license events.

The Afeela concept is actually deceptively fast and with this likely being the production model, we'll probably be able to take a lot of weight off it and tune it to be a track weapon (on short tracks). So that's a positive I suppose

That was Mission 10, a slipstream battle in Avantimes at CdlS.
Looks like the Avantime is going to be the 2002 Renault Avantime 2.0 16v Turbo in Dynamique trim if this Reddit post with the owner putting it up for sale is anything to go by.
That post was always highly suspect at best.
The normal CX has 2000hp, the CX.R has 900hp
The CX.R has a 900hp V8... and two electric drive motors and a third driveline motor, totalling 2000hp. I keep putting this in the articles for people, but just in case...
Literally Chevrolet
Building off the propulsion template set by the Corvette CX concept, the CX.R VGT combines electrified performance with the thrill of a high-revving V8 engine. The mid-mounted 2.0-liter dual-overhead-cam twin-turbo V8 makes up to 900 horsepower and revs to 15,000 rpm.

Powered by renewable e-fuel, this V8 drives the rear wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. Three electric motors – one for each front wheel, plus a third incorporated into the 8-speed gearbox – provide instant torque for jaw-dropping acceleration and contribute to a total system output of 2,000 hp.

I really doubt that Corvette CX.R VGT will actually go into Gr.1, come to think of it. Although it's a hybrid and not a full EV like the CX, there's not a single car currently in Gr.1 that has over 1000 HP, let alone 2000. The CX.R still looks amazing, though - can't wait to listen to that V8! (As far as a GM product coming to Gr.1, though, I think our best bet is still the Cadillac V-Series.R, especially since it scored a podium at Le Mans in 2023.)

That Avantime better have V10 engine swap option since they're seemed to have real hard time getting the license and permission to get Espace F1 out of the museum to do some scans and performance capture.
I'm looking forward both Corvette Vision GT and racing concept though, can easily be one of top five fastest cars in the game.
Afeela production model...nope I'm not feeling it looks like Apple store on wheels interior wise lol.

😴

On the bright side, maybe the CUV saga has finally come to an end?
Perhaps, though there are a few popular contemporary models that I think would fit the current trend real well, like the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, the Subaru Forester, and the Lexus LBX Morizo RR. Not to mention that DS Automobiles makes some nice SUVs/crossovers, too, and they could use at least a second car to their offerings. (Come to think of it, I'd say something similar regarding Citroen.) Plus, that Eclipse Cross also has a racing version from Stock Car Brazil, which could be an excellent way for Mitsubishi to get a newer Gr.3 machine.

Does Renault not make an SUV, though? I wonder why the Avantime, this odd minivan-esque thing? Not that I mind its return at all - I'm excited for its potential customization options. Maybe it'll even get an engine swap.

I have no clue what back left is supposed to be, but it looks scarily like an Afeela...

At first I thought maybe its a standard Xiaomi SU7? But the shape of the front says otherwise
Yeah that's pretty lame, that front end detail definitely looks like the Afeela over the Xiaomi.

The Corvette VGTs are good though, and it gives me hope that PD will keep adding the new C8s that have debuted.
