Um what? This might be true in case of Bugatti (and even then it‘s a stretch) but most definitely not for hypercars such as the Valkyrie or the AMG One.

I think the point is that people lose their minds over cars which don't have tonnes of horsepower.

In my opion, any car, of any category, can have fun and interesting handling characteristics, and thus racing potential. Typically, those classed as "hypercars" have one main talent and that's speed.

Your examples are outliers, for sure.

I'd rather drive the Captur and tune it up than drive a hypercar. Hypercars have never been fun for me to drive. All style no substance, look how fast I can go in a straight line - oh oops we forgot about braking and corners. Joyless rides.

I'd say it always depends on the car, not the category. I couldn't care less about something like the Bugattis but I wouldn't want to miss the Valkyrie. Same for SUVs. I like the RAV4 and the CX-30 for example.

edit: Just saw that @Imbissbrunto already mentioned the Bugattis and the Valkyrie.

Did they say it was a special update for 4th anniversary ?

4th anniversary was 3 days ago, and by the time update is available, it will be 8 days, and the post from Kaz says nothing about the anniversary.

Sure it's not the Captur I but the II, yet it will go straight to Canada, along my Ice Cars grid.

The styling lines match 1:1, as do the locations of the door handles and door mirror with relation to them. I noted in the article that the identical-except-badge Mitsubishi ASX is really the only other possibility and it'd be slightly odd that the Captur was specifically mentioned over and over again only to turn out to be the ASX.

Now that you've put the picture up it dose look similar to the hideous Renault.

Shame they don't add more requests cars and for some strange reason keep adding these pretty boring suvs.

Where are people getting the idea that this is an "Anniversary Update"? And why are we celebrating 2nd, 3rd and 4ths when 5ths, 10ths, 15ths and 20ths and so forth are the ones that actually get celebrations? Are people that impatient for anniversaries now?

Far as I can tell people just like to use the date as an opportunity for them to wishlist what they'd like instead. Seems to be how it goes in most of these threads.

They’ve been doing just that with the Porsche GT3 R, Hyundai TCR, 296 GT3, Mazda Spirit Roadster 12R(derived from the Super Taikyu car), Lancia Integrale Rally car, F3500 B, F3500 A, W 196 R, Impreza Rally Car, JGTC NSX, GT-One and a host of others. Cool thing is race cars added haven’t been far between updates. Especially given how hard it is to get licencing for certain cars.

If the “Camaro” isn’t a race car trimmed model, PD probably aren’t done adding race car oriented things. We did get the Aston Martin with GT4 aero parts. At least that’s a bit of a nod if they weren’t able to get the licence for the actual Vantage GT4.

Completely understand that we have been getting some race cars but all I was saying is that a big chunk of the community would rather have newer more modern racecars or even new supercars than have these crossover SUVs that we seem to be getting.

The Camaro seems to be the one from GT5 with racing modifications so that will be a nice bonus.

That’s a significant evolution not only for his cars but also for Stielow himself, who finds he’s more on the Touring side of the Pro Touring movement these days. His earlier cars were mostly set on “kill,” and slay he did with them on autocross and road courses around the country. However, as his professional roles and responsibilities have grown over the years—he’s now General Motors’ director of motorsports competition engineering—his calendar has fewer slots for those extracurricular racing endeavors. His cars have now become respites from the corporate world and a way to downshift his thoughts into something more personal.

The car itself found Stielow when another enthusiast, Scott Chin, reached out to him during the search for a 1967 Camaro project car. Stielow didn’t have one, but Chin had a solid, rust-free 1969 Camaro that piqued his interest. Chin wasn’t ready to sell the car at the time, but he was a couple years later. It was an original SS 396 that came with loads of original documentation and an interesting drag racing history. It was ordered through a Scottsdale, Arizona, dealer with an automatic transmission, a 4.11 rear axle, and no radio. The original owner immediately pressed it into bracket-racing duty and reportedly campaigned the car into the ’80s. In fact, it is said to have claimed its Stock class championship at the 1984 NHRA Winternationals.

I see a lot of people unhappy with the car selection but we got to keep in mind that GT7 is about car in general, it is yes focused on track racing but the cars in game respond to different demographics…

I’m not a fan of American muscle cars (I know some like them more than me) nor electric vehicles (although they are nice to try and get a feel for it, because I will probably always have a “fuel car” and it is a different experience) That said I was very pleased with the TCR car last update and I look forward to try the Captur has an ice rally build. The RX7 is not my favourite car either but it has historical significance for Mazda’s rotary engines and is good for JDM cars enthusiasts.

There is multiple different IRL brands and model for different people, it is only fair that PD had cars for each of those demographics. Let’s all stop complaining and appreciate what is given to us. Take this has an opportunity to test drive cars that most of us won’t buy or get to own.

*I guess my post is a bit ironic cause I’m complaining about people who are complaining but you guys get the idea.
 
If it’s the “series 6” FD RX-7 that’s among them, I wonder what sort of customization options it’ll have compared to the FD Spirit R?
 
Some sort of RM? It looks like maybe there are hood pins. Seems to be a little disturbance in the veil on the hood. Maybe I'm just seeing things.

If the Evos 8 and 9 had Varis fenders...


...then maybe that FD has (insert aftermarket brand) fenders as a widebody option.

But I expect disappointment. :lol:
