Free-raming at Japanese Highways & Mountain Roads.
Yea i like that.. And we could play gt world online and roam.. But with same physics.. Samn that sounds nice
Done right, it would work. Taking Test Drive Unlimited 2 as an example, that had hundreds of miles of roads, a good selection of cars, with a livery editor. If GT Roam had this, plus the attention to detail that GT games normally get, while dropping the attention to detail that isn't needed (B-Spec etc) it would be a winner.
I play Test Drive Unlimited 2 and I think PD Would make a world wide winner with gt roam like tdu2 just with better cars and much more detail
This sounds better as a separate GT title, rather than GT6 or any other GT in the main series. And it's starting to sound a lot like TDU2.
ZedMan1996Bring these back from GT3! And I dont care if they wont make it in premium!

This. 👍Sure I would love free roam but this game is not the place for it. Maybe point to point races. But not free roam.
This. 👍
Free roam is all well and good for NFS titles and Burnout; but Gran Turismo? I don't think so. Don't forget that GT is a racing simulator, not a street racing game. Unless PD added police pursuits and street races (which I'd personally hate to see in a GT game), free roam in Gran Turismo wouldn't be so enjoyable. So why include it? I think PD will realize very quickly that free roam and features that could be associated with it do not fit the image of Gran Turismo. So I believe and hope that it won't happen.
Well it doesn't have to mean illegal street racing (is there a legal form that I haven't heard of?What exactly is it that you think "free roam" means? Does it just mean illegal street racing? That's like saying all FPSs are CoD.
👍Given GT5's great physics engine, after a few tweaks here and there (particularly regarding low-speed physics), I'd say a free roam mode would be great fun.
People make and join online rooms to cruise on race tracks.Well it doesn't have to mean illegal street racing (is there a legal form that I haven't heard of?), but as far as I can tell there aren't really any other features you can add. I can't see PD implementing police pursuits and street racing in a GT game and I hope they won't, as it doesn't fit the games image. And if they don't implement that, what else is there to do in such a mode? It wouldn't be very enjoyable now, would it?

Yes, race tracks. Not the open road. And if PD implemented a mode where you could cruise on the open road, you'd probably be made to drive at a reasonable speed and obey the rules, as in real life. Where's the fun in that?👍

Street racing isn't in F1. There are races held on street courses, but they are closed off courses. And the drivers have to follow the course; they aren't free to dictate their route around the track. So technically it's not street racing.Of course there's legal street racing; it's even in F1!
Free: Not under the control or in the power of another; able to act or be done as one wishes.
Roam: Move about or travel aimlessly or unsystematically, esp. over a wide area.
Add two parts imagination, and away you go!![]()

Even though you don't want free roam, a whole lot of other people do. Have you read any of the posts in this thread?Yes, race tracks. Not the open road. Why can't a free roam mode for GT be something like this?
You seem to be under the assumption that all free roam games involve street racing.
It would appear over 100,000 people would like to disagree with you. And isn't free roam a generally accepted idea?Because that is utterly boring and something like that in GT6 would be absolutely slated by the majority of players and the media?
