The mandatory number boards are a piece of **** in my opinion. They are ugly and I the numbers are not the ones I prefer on my cars.
The Michelin tyres are not that problem, as I prefer it on my blue liveries.

Mandatory numbers and Michelin tyres limit my liveries, but I can live with it.

I picked a car I've never used before, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, and entered a GT2 lobby where I had the lowest DR (as I expected it to be) and qualified P6, and I could have been P1 if I hadn't touched the sausage exiting the last chicane.

I started on hards and went easy, not fighting a lot for positions since I'm used to people always starting with the best tyres (it wasn't the case this time). I should have pitted for mediums on lap 3, but did it on lap 4. I could have fought for some positions, but the lack of top speed made it really hard to overtake; I had way better exit speed, specially on turn 1, but there was no sense on trying to go parallel on Eau Rouge when my top speed had no chance after Radillion.

P10 in the end. P9 if I hadn't been (unfairly, IMHO) penalized for track limits twice. No one messed tyre requirements and no ragequitters.

This is something I’d like to know too and keep track off, in all 3 leagues. Just interesting to know what the rough figures are for everyone.

I see the ranking boards are back. Lucky number 13 for me.

As it served me reasonably well back in the dailies I stuck with my 911. Qualified P6. I'm always a fan of the contra strat so decided to get the hards out of the way first. Of course this meant I was holding people up for the first few laps. I was doing a reasonable job of keeping them behind until a Frenchman in a R8 decided to punt me in Ickx. I held it but lost a few places. Luckily I was pitting that lap. I came out in P12 and made my progress in clean air. The Frenchman bizzarly went for a 6/6 strat so came out a couple of seconds ahead of me on lap 7. Eventually others pit and the Frenchman started to fight a Nissan. He was then slow up Eu Rouge and I had him in the kink at the start of the Kemmel. The Nissan promptly had issues through Les Combes and I was alongside into Rivage. Bang! The R8 punts me again. I'm not having this and so I force some of his own medicine down his throat at Ickx. I now pull away from the fighting pack and catch a couple more cars. A Russian Nissan swerves into Pouhon but brakes to late and I coast by. Then a Supra is having issues with their tyres and it is an easy pass around the outside of Les Combes on the last lap for P5.

That's where I finished for 60 points. A good start to the season.
It appears I was in with @Hodd10. Well done on your result too.

First time for everything today. First ever go in a GTWS race. First time racing a fellow forum member. Well I say racing more like trundling round at the back. I was hoping for some drop outs but the lobby stayed full bar 1 chap. Nice result for you @OJBrit

Top tip for racers. Don't sign up 2 mins before the entry period whilst not having raced for nigh on 2 weeks!!

I think I'm starting to lose my edge. During the practice sessions, I'd managed to get a time around 2:18.8 or somewhere faster or slower. During qualifying, I'd managed to land at P15/P16 with a time of 2:19.xxx!

The first few minutes of the race was alright, a majority started on Hards and there were the usual crashes in the middle. But there was a mix of people pitting in around laps 12,13, and 14 for some reason. I pitted for Mediums at lap 13.

As it turns out, that was enough to completely destroy my tyres for the remainder of the race. At the final laps, there was a GT-R that was coming in close (where I'm guessing that their tyres are at a reasonable level compared to mine.). By some magic, I managed to hold my position to the finish line. Not so much of a deal considering I got 128 points from the whole thing.

Just curious. In the longer races, you would get barely anyone finishing the races in the GT2-3 leagues, hence why I think they dropped those races down to half distances

GT2 lobby this morning, nothing much to say, a standard Gr.3 Spa race. I used the Audio R8 since I ran it a Spa last week (?) to decent results. I have been seeing it on leaderboards for awhile and am considering Audi for the manu.

I didn't seem to have the same pace I had in the dailies. I wore number two board and Qd at P13. Started hards, ran 5H/7M. No drama, most of the race was alone, finished P10 with CRB. I might go again this evening since I like driving here.

(There is a definite advantage to GT2 with the extra slots. It is a real devils bargain to trade slots for laps; mostly I'm irked because PD treats the leagues different.)

Edit: 16 start, 16 finish, no DNFs. A pretty high lobby with one A ranked racer.

This is gonna be interesting. I had way too much understeer in the 18' GT-R and the Supra despite being quick is worse than it on tire wear. Just randomly decided to Jump in the 18' Ford GT and immediately found much more pace, and it is better on tires. Gotta be careful with fuel consumption though. Not sure I've practiced enough to do well, but I give it one shot and we'll see how it goes. 🤷

Just finished my race (GT3 - DR E pretty new).

Driving the Porsche RSR
Qualified P1 with a 2:22.xxx (best time in practice was a 2:20.xxx gap to P2 was 2+ seconds)

Completed the race staying in P1 for the most of the race with the exception of a short part of sector 2 where P2 bumped into the rear of me in a breaking zone (Not bad, but enough to push my wide off the track a bit). Recovered P1 after they entered the penalty zone. Stayed in P1 for the rest of the race.

Curious though, upon completion, I incurred a 1 minute penalty but I have no idea where. Almost the entire field had a 1 minute penalty. Thus I was demoted to P2 behind the only person to incur no such penalty (I lost P1 by 5 seconds).

I saved the replay and thought maybe I missed a prompt, playing in VR, you don't see everything with flags and whatnot. But, still can't figure it out.

Anybody have an idea or similar experience?

1 minute penalty - you didn’t follow the required tyres rules. You had to use both the mediums and hards for at least a lap.

Thanks for that.

Do you happen to know where that's stated?

The race info said there were no required pit stops required. So I sorta figured I could do a no stop race, and apparently most of the field did, too.

Can’t take a screenshot of the race page but it’s something like “required tyre type”, as on the race schedule info (pic attached).

It can seem a bit misleading. No pit stop required but you do have to use 2 different tyres. Sometimes it’s the reverse - only one type of tyre needed but you do need to stop, even if you don’t actually change them.

Thanks again for your help!

I'll take my P2 for now. I don't have time to enter any other races today. But this is valuable information to consider for going forward.

It's on the main race page, underneath the Race Details window you've opened in your screenshot, under "Required tires".

It's also in Race Details if you scroll to the bottom (I believe) and finally it's in the race lobby to the right of the lobby chat window.

That was absolutely terrible, definitely should have practiced more, to determine the correct car. But I still find it hard to believe I could have done more than a P10 or P11, so didn't lose too much. P13, finished over 1 min 1 second behind the leader. One to forget, nothing worked tonight, brains were off and so was the pace too. Just gotta practice way more for these races, can't expect to just show up and be able to do **** in these races.

Cool, I see it now. Thanks!

Whats the tire strat for GT1 guys. I definitely can't make mediums last beyond maybe 8 laps, and something tells me hards won't last me 16 laps for a 1 stopper?
