Itsn not 6 monhts takes per car..IF 1 person makes 1 car it will take 6 months. There are alot of person in car modelling crew of PD.
6 months means there are only 10 cars in gt5 till now/

Think of it this way. If he is improving it then maybe he is listening to the forums. If he is listening to the forums then. Kaz RELEASE THE CES DEMO!!
No chance. When I merely hinted that Kaz and his crew might look over forums like these I ended up getting lectured. Why would a person in his position listen to a bunch of people on forums who do not know what they are talking about? </sarcasm>

I really did not expect this in March for EU anyway - maybe April/May at best, so really, for somebody like me who is not importing, as already discussed, it might end up being fuss over nothing anyway. It's not all bad news, and there will be a number of factors compounding this decision:

  • Potential simultaneous worldwide release considerations
  • Marketing decision to offset the release from big names like "God of War III" and "Final Fantasy XIII"
  • Kaz will surely be happy to have a bit more dev/tweaking time, as there really doesn't seem to be a defined end-point for the game (only going by the news)
  • Potential acquisition of licenses such as Porsche
  • Removing the ambiguity of simply having "March 2010" for Japan, and no date for anywhere else. This delay at least means that people in SONY/PD are planning now, and will be hopefully be able to present more relastic dates for all regions sometime soon
Far from being bad news, actually, I think this is good news for people in my position.

Iv got a life.It dosent matter when it comes out. When its out i buying it and have fun.I cant understand why everyone is crying. Its a game. Not the middlepoint off youre life.

This is such a random and almost offensive thing to say. I'm sure no one in here is actually crying or losing any sleep over this. But we're discussing a game in the context of a game forum, and most of us are passionate about the GT series. This is game is not the middlepoint of our lives but it is the middlepoint of this forum. So either discuss it or don't bother with rubbish comments like that.

Each modeler makes a car for 3-6 months. They don't have 1 modeler. Maybe more like 50.

Maybe you are right, hopefully you are right, OR, they have the same ambiguity press.

Sorry my english.

P.S: Im not a pesimist person, but, i know it! i just know they push the date.

"Just been confirmed that the delay is only for 1 month ....maybe enough delay for a worldwide release"

That's not too bad and might indicate a world-wide release in April?!?!?!?

It's obviously been shown that Kaz is a perfectionist so there could be one of a hundred reasons for the news, as I know myself, perfectionists are often indecisive when it comes to saying "it's finished...oh wait maybe lets just tweak that or add that". Then again it could just be a marketing issue.

For whatever reason, I hope and pray the wait will be worth it for everybody in the end.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/gran-turismo-5-faces-new-delay

Nothing news worthy in that article, the information they are referring to is most likely GTplanet or similar.

The only real news out there is that apparently Sony have released further information to newpapers and the media confirming that this delay would have no effect on the European release date.

I should just dangle a slice of pizza off a stick attached to my head and chase it around for a few hours until it's stone cold.

well said mate....... i was angry and upset last year when the delay until March was first mentioned....

Now i honestly just don't care anymore.👎

i am listening to Lenny Kravitz again song.:(
I wonder if I'll ever see you again

So more a marketing move than anything? Hopefully this points to a siimultaneous global release. I don't think we will be waiting long for final launch details now, even if they may change again in the future!

Dangling pizza from your head...nah. Not caring though...that is the right attitude. I can't wait to get my hands on the full game, but since getting into 2010, I really don't care when it launches as long as it is this year. Makes the wait and news much more bearable, and the reality is, there are much more important things in life.

It's Just a thought ,but if the market being delayed (and only for a month) is the Japanese alone does this mean that they are in the final testing phase . I know Kaz has stated GT5 could go gold at any point but that was the racing side of the game , and we all know he's a stickler for detail .

In reality, they can say whatever they want.
Think about it, how can a delay in Japan have an effect on the European release if the European release was never officially decided?

For all we know, they might not even have the game 50% complete.

I cross my fingers for EU release date at Brussels Auto Show!!!:yuck:

Imagine they say, Europe December 2010/ Congrats.
Then we rush PD headquarters and take the game ourselves.

Kaz may be perfectionalist but even da Vinci managed to finish the Mona Lisa.

There is a fine line between sarcasm and silly ;)

You are right about the EU release though. Having said that, it's fair to say that EU would have got the game later, maybe April/May anyway, so it's fair to assume that "indirectly", there may not have been any impact. Only time will tell.

I wouldn't be too happy, sure, but then it is what it is. If I have to wait until December, I can wait.

Wait, what? It's the same thing, it was a metaphor.

If that was the case , I feel it's a bad move starting to market a game with a 4 month window when it's only 50% done .In reality I feel we are on the final run of testing because of the good reviews following the demo seen at show's . The only thing I do think they may be struggling on is the online aspect of the game.Prologue online facilities are awful , and I do think it was a good move on PD to seperate the team to work on the online side of the game.

I wouldn't mind waiting three more months if the sounds are on par with beautiful GT graphics.

There is nothing wrong with the sounds. The sounds are much better than Forza 3 sounds

I fear bugs galore, if they're trying to cram in some last minute content!

Theyre trying to cram more in because of people not being happy with what they get. No matter what they do you will see a lot of people complain its not good enough.

well lets look in the mirror in all honesty...every time PD does something new with the game we get people nitpicking it to death and then PD goes back to the drawing board...

shoot, maybe all the people complaining about the paddle shift animation pushed Kaz over the edge!....

I agree with you. No matter what PD do you see people not happy with it.

Give us the CES demo and it will be easier to tolerate this pain :(

That would be nice. I am slightly disapointed but its not the end of the world. There are other games to play between now and the release of GT5 and I have real life too.

I still don't get Sony. I'm soooo confused.

Sony don't get Sony.

As for marketing. I think Sony/PD are doing pretty well, the words Gran Turismo are pasted all over the internet at the moment.

The fact people take the time to report a delay makes more people interested in the final product. Think carefully, why would anyone report a delay if the game wasn't something important.

Ever since the first GT came out it has always been above and beyond games of the time and I dont think GT5 will be any different. PD has said they have started from scratch with this version and even with GT5P attempt ,I think everyone would agree that the gameplay for a game that is well over 2 yrs old still brings people back to play .
I dont say this a lot when delay's are announced ,but this is one game I know is going to deliver so I can wait (all be it with teeth well embedded in lip)

complaining isn't really going to help is it? I wasn't planning to import anyway, so this hasn't got such a big impact on me, but if it is delayed surely there just making last minute bug fixes and improvements before going gold (something im sure we would all complain about if the game was released without fixing)
