Europe releasedate announcement: Brussels
US releasedate announcement: Detroit

Perfect! :sly:

no it doesn't...

But that does not change the fact that the game has only ever been given a single release "date" and that was "March 2010" in Japan...everywhere else was still up in the air...

This press release is saying that the game is being pushed back IN JAPAN...therefore...Japanese...
Fair enough, if you want to be pedantic about it. ;)

i wont use 3d why must i wait extra 3 or 5 months?
Who said to Kazunori develop to GT5 from scratch?
Who said to KAzunori add Nascar WRC IRL ALMS 400.000 polygons per car.?
Who said to Kazunori open GT academy Tournament?

I was very happy with GT3 it has 170 cars beautiful tracks. There as no nascar WRC IRL Super gt etc. GT3 was best selling in the franchise. 15 millons mark. GT3 released in 2001 it still has best graphics on PS2. GT2 was released in 1999.. Do you think the same engine was used GT2 and GT3?
If so i was very happy with same engine.

GT4 is much better than GT3...

@irnbrutwinturbo

I hope someday you will understand you read.

I hope someday you will understand what you are saying, and what i am implying.

It's not just a case of plugging the GT3 engine into the PS3 and it will work. Programming between the two consoles will be vastly different. GT5 is a progression of the GT series, it must evolve.

Your complaining about features that have been added.
You might as well complain about them spending time updating graphics, and if this is the case, then to solve your problem, go play GT3.

I'm surprised nobody has considered the fact that the delay could actually be down to the PS3's firmware.

For GT5 to use 3D, a new firmware will be required for the PS3, we have no idea what other features GT5 will make use of on PS3, but i'm sure custom in game music will also require an updated firmware. Maybe Sony aren't ready to update the PS3 just yet.

The PS3 was updated with 3D compatibility in the last update... No need for a new firmware

Custom Soundtrack support was added in firmware v2.40.

this is the first GT on ps3 you know.
I meant developin time take longer // GT3 was the first on ps2 .Its the same position.
i dont really need 1000 cars.Kazu said car modeling is 65 percent of development of gt5.
Give me 200 or 400 cars i will be happy with him.
Ok i m gonna play GT3 and you can continue waiting GT5 and read a few interview..
A few months later they wil add DTM or WTCC and then push back AGAIN,

Come on guys thank god we still alive in this year... we know that this is the first GT platform on Ps3..sure got all this things happened..after this no more too long wait for GT6.

anyway we cannot do anything about it but to remain hopeful that it is not a massive delay like Fall or December 2010. Just one month away from march for all regions, not there selfish target of December 2010. Well whats next? Gt6 will take a decade to make?

I get your point and i totally agree!
I just bought the PS3 because GT5 (like PS2 for GT2) the people who make the same think must understand is very frutrating to wait so much to enjoy a d*** ****** game!!

And for the 3D thing as i know you need a screen with 120 hz to use that tecnology.

So frustrating, and to me signals pretty bad news, that something's wrong in the development process. Very scary they don't say how long.

Just when I was starting to let myself daydream about GT5 again. Alas, back to MW2.

It'll get here when it gets here. (repeat 100x)

The last few night when going to bed I was thinking about GT5 and the types of cars/races I'll be looking forward too and then would drift off to sleep very nice than you very much - I was getting genuinely excited.

Today is a very sad day.

Well well.. Isn't anything anyone can 'bout it anyways:) Just hope it doesn't turn into a new Duke Nuke'm. Ha Ha... :)

Been a massive fan of gt over the years and cherished the release of each version, but the release of gt5 is going to be different. I've seen so many trailers, downloaded various demos, prologue etc that when it eventually comes out its going to be nothing i havent seen already other than extra cars (seen the list already) and some new tracks (which they have included a few of on the various versions they have released). The buzz when it comes out is going to be somewhat numbed compared to early versions. Pity really, still going to be a great game, but i shouldn't be able to say that as its not even out.

The melodramatics around here never cease to amaze me! For a start, this announcement only affects Japan, the delay has been confirmed as just one month, and all of a sudden the recent influx of stuff like the cover seem to have been all but forgotten. We have the motor shows coming up, and for all you know we could end up with final launch details very soon.

One month is not really much time to add a significant amount of stuff to a project that has been going on for the best part of 6 years, and nor is it likely due to major technical issues. There is every chance this is purely a marketing and financial move to get the game away from other big releases, and put it into the next financial year. For a game this big, they will be well into heavy-duty QA and final tweaking.

As for EU and US...it is what it is. We either get a simultaneous global release, or as ever, US get the game a bit later, and EU get it much further down the line. For me, as long as it is before Christmas this year, I really don't mind, and sleep easy as a result.

Are you serious its 1 month delay i dont think so..i DONT CARE ABOUT GT5 NEW! I JUST WANT RELEASE DATE. NEITHER dtm NOR wtcc CAN CHANGE MY MIND.

+1 👍

I don't think the delay will lead to any significant changes in the game, its just a marketing decision in my opinion.

The release date is 24th November 2010*. Will that suffice? Will that stop you complaining about features PD have decided to add to enhance the game?

*completely unfounded but it's a release date.

PS2 for GT2lol I think on GT3

You have to understand that people over here (at the GT5 forum) are probably simply more excited about the game then you are.
Just because you can handle a delay does not mean that others can as easily.. so we simply discuss the delay and some are simply p%^ssed off about it, some are not suprised and can't be bothered.

I myself was gearing up for a march import release date and was getting quite excited about this game as i have been waiting for it for over 4 years now.
To be in mid-january and only having two more months to go was pretty exciting for me, especially since other racing "sims" on the other console (i shall not name names :)) did not live up to the hype in my opinion.

Now reading about a delay due to development issues is not the best thing to read 2 months before the previous march release date.

See, it's not so much that one month that got added.. it's the frustration of having to wait for 4-5 years, hearing PD state in numerous interviews that they could release it any moment end 2009, having official sony people saying that we should get ready for a release end 2009, only to learn then that it will be march 2010.
And then 2 months before march 2010, this delay on top of it.

Honestly.. PD needs a spokesperson.
Someone to clear things up and simply state what is true and what is false.
With this delay allready things are unclear, is it one month? is it a world wise release setup? is it really development issues or sony marketing?

They need to clear things up.. none of this vague BS anymore.
